I love utilizing my scrap fabrics as sew-in interfacing! It saves me money, uses up those odd ends of scraps I always have lying around, and I feel like it lasts longer than the iron-on equivalent. I thought it'd be fun to share my process with you while working on my current sewing project.

Hey! Would it make sense to use scraps from cutting the main fabric for interfacing?
@UntitledThoughts
@UntitledThoughts 2 года назад
Yes definitely! Sometimes it is even better to use those scraps as interfacing because you know the fabric will launder in the same way throughout. I always try to use my off-cuts first before diving into my stash of other scrap fabrics

I'm new to sewing and yesterday I made a mistake with my fusible interfacing and was planning on going back to the fabric store today for more interfacing. But after watching this, I'm going to try using scraps and hopefully save myself a trip and a little money. Thanks so much for this great video!

Oh no! I have had that happen to me before and it is never, ever fun. I really hope that my tutorial helped and that you've been able to use all your fabric scraps as interfacing in the time since 💛

This is so helpful! I’m making some fabric baskets, and the fusible interfacing doesn’t go very far and is kind of expensive. Thanks for the tips, I hope my project works out!

Perfect, just what I searched for! I want to strengthen the waistband of a linen dress a bit - so I'll just find some linen (or similar weight cotton) fabric scrap and use that. :)
