Hi Rachael, I'm so sorry to hear about all the negative comments. Patreon is not in my budget but I will continue to enjoy and watch your videos here on RU-vid. I support whatever you need to do to grow your business. Love the door ! Thanks for all our lovely videos !
The door turned out beautiful Rachael! As did the shawl and I wouldn't bother soaking it. You can see for yourself how well it sits on your neck and shoulders, and there's no point making more work for yourself. You can try stretching it more when it has its first wash. Always love the trips to the Palace. X
Hi Rachael, I don't usually comment but I really enjoy your videos. it's really disappointing that you have had so many negative comments re Patreon. We are so lucky that your videos on RU-vid are free, they must take a lot of work. Best wishes with whatever you decide!
When someone asks for an opinion it’s hoped that the opinions are measured and respectful..I gave my opinion, I can’t afford patreon , and I watch others who have patreon accounts who now seem only to care about those subs. ..but I expressly said I would support Rachael’s channel whatever route she chose My comments we’re not negative unless you consider a different opinion Negative ..?🤔
Your Sarah Knight shawl was so pretty that I had to start one; it is long term for me, nearly a year and counting. Your door appears to go very well with the darker wall. Love your vlogs.
Hello Rachel thanks for another beautiful trip to Falkland palace gardens Paula ( stitched by Mrs D ) doesn’t block her knitting & garments shawls socks whatever always look ok& so did yours when you popped it on so no stress ( it is what it is )👍 Sorry you had negative comments about patreon You do have to do what is right for you I love your vlogs & bought several things from you hoping to support your small business Thanks for everything By the way the door looks FABULOUS 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your shawl is very pretty and looks so cozy. Love the door! As for RU-vid, although I would not be able to afford a monthly subscription myself I think with the cost of living always rising it’s a hard struggle for a single parent so I think you should do it, it will give you a bit more income and that can’t be a bad thing. Gosh some people just do it without considering the thoughts of their followers. You are my favourite you tuber so I will always follow you on here whenever you make a video.
Thanks so much Pamela! I’ve had so many discussions about it all, with some friends who already do patreon channels themselves too. I hadn’t realised but it seems ‘ok’ to subscribe for the month, watch all you can, then end the subscription (or move to another channel for a month etc). I think that makes it much more accessible and less ‘exclusive’ etc. Obviously that’s not always in a persons budget but it did give me something to think about.
@@SewraymeUk hi Rachel, t didn’t know that either and as you say it makes it more accessible and affordable and something I may be able to do on occasions x
Love the door! Amazing how the floral detail pops with the door painted. Regarding Patreon - you do what’s best for you! People forget that RU-vidrs are usually here to make money. They aren’t doing it just for fun (though I am sure that is a bonus). You have always been upfront that this is your business. Best of luck whatever you decide!
Watching your video was a real treat this morning! I'd returned from dental appointment which made me nervous. But i now feel chilled and relaxed. Thank you very much 💕
Hi Rachael- a great episode as usual and so enjoyable ❤ I wanted to let you know that the little basket from my Summer Survival box is just so handy- last week I was embroidering some daisies on my granddaughter’s new cardigan and it was held all the bits and bobs that I was using- just great! I haven’t used it outside yet- it’s supposed to be Spring here in Tasmania but instead we seem to be having the last blast of Winter 🥶 sometimes people joke that ( because we live on a little island) we’ve lost our anchor ⚓️ and we’ve drifted closer to Antarctica 😂 it feels like we’ve done that recently! Finally, just remember what a brilliant job you do- running a small business, being a great single parent, sewing beautifully, volunteering, gardening and now painting doors- take care and do exactly what you want 😊
Thanks Elizabeth! The baskets are just so versatile aren’t they? And so nice to keep all your things together and reach for it when you’re working on a project. Thanks for your lovely words 🫶🏻💖
You may find you need to put a top coat on the lazy range it’s not as hard wearing as the others. It’s good paint Iv used it a lot Al fresco is the harder wearing one, but try not to knock it in the next 3 weeks as it has to cure. Good luck.
I love your door! ❤ It's beautiful. Your shawl is so lovely too. I soak things for about 15 minutes, roll it in a towel, and then block it. But i know others have done it the same way you did. xx
❤❤aways enjoy ur vlogs ,podcasts,,,,🎉🎉 One of the first ones i followed,,,,and have been hooked,,,, Love that door!!!2wow,,,,you are so handy,,, And ur shawl is gorgeous ,,,,, All of them,,!! I usually block my shawls,,,but yours looks great,,, Thanks rachael, Elaine 💗🏠
I always soak my knits to block but I think your shawl looks great, it drapes beautifully. Your door is beautiful and I agree it makes the pattern in the glass look beautiful.
Thank you. I’m happy with the shawl but wasn’t sure if it’s just because I don’t know any better 🫣😂. The highly varnished orange pine had to go! I’m so pleased with it 🩷
Really love your door! It has brought the glass feature out really well. Well done! Yes - it must be quite daunting reading some, shall I say, quite aggressive/threatening comments. Not nice at all and very strange! I have already made my feelings clear that you need to do what is right for you and your business and I will support you as much as I can. It’s been a tough year for us so know that you need to change things up to grow. I’m actually looking forward to your Patreon channel coming to fruition. By the way - I expect you already know but you can even have a tiered system for followers on there. You’re looking really well by the way. X.
Hi Rachel…you should do whatever is best for you…regarding Patreon. I watched this at 7 am on Sunday morning while eating my breakfast…and watched you making exactly the same breakfast as me! ( although I did add a teaspoon of Manuka honey to mine 😋) Thanks for the video….Dottie x
Hi Rachael, hater ar going to hate. Don’t let them influence you in to doing one thing or the other. Do what you feel is goed for you and your business. I am not a fan of Patreon, but that is purely based on the fact that (I think) your business is making, not creating content, just for the sake of creating content, and I don’t want you to feel forced to do even more than you already do. I much rather buy you a generous coffee every now and then.
When you ASK for an opinion, you should be prepared for what people say.. my reply to Rachael was polite and friendly, I explained that I and a lot of others cannot afford a subscription, and that I had seen what some channels do when they have a patreon side channel..the subs that built up their channel sometimes get forgotten .. the only ones they reply to are the ones donating money .. I did NOT say Rachael was going to do this. I said I would still support her channel and hoped that she would succeed.. SO STOP with the aggressive “ haters shit “ because as far as I read there were only a few of those comments , the majority expressed their opinions in a polite way.. 🤨
I can’t speak for others but, Rachael asked for opinions, and speaking for MYSELF I gave my opinion,it wasn’t unpleasant nor was it negative..I explained why I couldn’t afford to take out a subscription to the patreon channel..I also explained how SOME youtube channels only seem to care about their patreon subs and the regular viewers who built up their channel are forgotten…So perhaps painting all of us who expressed our opinions and are wary of patreon as NEGATIVE is not fair . 🤨🇬🇧
Marion from WoolThreadPaint never blocks her blankets or makes..but she gives them a pamper wash on a daily quick wash and a 1000 spin speed..then stretch it out on bed or outside if fine. 😊🥰 I left an opinion ( as you asked for ) and I hope I expressed that although I couldn’t afford it and had my misgivings about patreon itself , I would continue to watch your channel..I certainly hope I also expressed that I supported you whatever you choose to do..and there was no underlying resentment or side… I understand it’s not pleasant reading comments like that....🤷♀️but if my comments did upset you then I apologise. 🙂
Your door looks great, it's such a pretty door. I don't suppose you know where I can download a copy of Sarah Knights Colour block Shawl which looked super on your couch. I went on Pintrest and Ravelry and apparently the pattern is no longer available :(
@SewraymeUk Hi Rachel. Dow nloaded the app to find that the free download has been discontinued! Can't even find a site to purchase one. Thanks anyway for your help, much appreciated :) Sue x
