My daughter and I both sew and live in the same house in different sewing/craft rooms. It was delightful to meet your daughter and watch you working together. Thanks for that. I feel like we are neighbors.

You had stronger genes for the 3 to look like You, and mainly Sons do look like their Dad. I have 4 kids too. Two from each marriage, My Son Jonathan #3, looks just like his Dad too.. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

I wish I could sew with my mom. But she passed while my 43 yrs old son was in elementary school. She was born in 1910.

Glad you had a fun birthday. Even better that Alexia was with you riding that coaster I bet. Juki TL 2010Q Stitches 1500 per minute. Brother makes the same machine under their name. Less costly. Both are straight stitch only machines. You can buy and replace the Juki needle threader

I’ve used potato bags for years and luckily I’ve never had a problem - I use them to reheat fast food sandwiches too

I didn't join any Christmas challenge this year. When it was time to plan I had too much going on with the death of my son and my surgery and healing to think about. So this year I am just gonna find something for me to do on my own.

My daughter and grandaughter also go to Renaissance Faires . My grandson and his girlfriend also go and he is in a sword fighting group who perform at some Faires. My daughter has a booth where she sells various items she makes. We have also gone to the Faire in Shakopee Minnesota. I have 2 sons and their families who live in Maple Grove which is about an hour from there. Has Alexa ever gone to that one? It's a huge one . We really enjoy it. My nephew got married there several years ago.

I buy the cheap Styrofoam core boards and cut them up into 8 equal pieces ( they end up 7 1/2 x 10 inches) to wrap my fabric on. Much cheaper than buying special boards. And for bowl cozies or anything going in the microwave use a batting called Wrap n Zap.....it's 100%cotton with no scrim so is safe for the microwave. But you should still only put in for short periods of time.

I'm not sure all the fairs she has been to. That's cool your daughter and grands go though and do a booth. I don't put anything in the microwave cause so many people in my life caught things on fire. And electricity and fire are both my fears. The combo I just can't take chances. It's a me thing 😆

I know nothing about your sewing machines but both my Berninas are good with Aurifil and also my featherweight. I always use the matching thread in the bobbin.

Ya for some reason the small spools of Aurfil and my machines just have issues. The large spools work great. But the small ones don't. It's just off the wall randomly weird. I also run the same thread in the bobbin.

I feel for you Scott. I give off a weird kinetic energy and a lot of electronics go haywire if I touch the actual device. I buy otter boxes for my Apple products so that they will actually work for me. Back in the day when I had my blackberry, even with the otterbox it wouldn’t work. I took it to the the dealer to find out what was going on. They put it on their computer and told me it was perfectly fine. I said okay turn it on and hand it to me. She did and as soon as it was in my hand the screen went crazy and then shut completely off. She was so confused. She put it back on the computer and came back again and said she couldn’t find anything wrong. As soon as she handed it back the same thing happened again. I ended up with a different phone and the otterbox for that phone worked perfectly. They also work with all of my Apple products. Street lights and some restaurants lights will flicker or completely shut off when I’m around. Wal mart cash registers especially hate me. My husband has to check out while I head to the door or they completely seize up. This was SO NOT a good thing one Black Friday because I was definitely to close to the register. Definitely try some sort of case with your electronics and see if it helps.

It's just a regular pillow on mine with a case that covers it. The other chair is one of those low back support pillows. It don't really help like they advertise. But I used it for a few years before I got my new chair. I don't remember the brand but it also has a case over it too.

I noticed you ironing your squares and you were ironing and not pressing. I have always been told you should press and not iron as ironing will stretch your fabric and mess up your squares. Please explain your experience. Thanks.

I was folding them back using the iron. I normally don't do that, I usually fold it back first then press. But when I am hurrying I tend to do things quickly. Ironing does stretch blocks wonky. But using the iron to push the seam back works good too. It's honestly a matter of preference in how you press.

The most recent 80/20 we got is Pellon brand and I also buy Dream Puff which is a 70/30 and both quilt up fabulous. However I don't have any affiliated links for those. I have many affiliate links in my description below and if you search from those links you may find it.
