Welcome to my channel...thank you for joining me for all the things happening in my sewing room today, a scrappy sewing session...and a few more photos of our new grandson Reid and our daughter Kassidy...his cute new momma and a glimpse of Mr.Honey too!!!
Today's tutorial is all about squares!!!
First off...I'm doing my Grandma's Donut Block tutorial from my
Scrappiness is Happiness Book and it's also our Week Twenty in the
Scrappiness is Happiness Book Quilt Along.
The Grandma's Donut Block pattern is on page 136 and the Grandma's Donut's Quilt pattern is on page 138. The block in the book finishes at 6"....
But in this video I show you FOUR more blocks using different size squares from your scrappy stash!
Afterwards I'll show and tell about another of my favorite go to blocks for using up leftover squares...which is my block called Sixty-Four.

Another wonderful tutorial. All the explanations really tell the story of the quilts you design. I think I will use the design to make a Christmas quilt and add bows to make them look like wreaths. Thanks so much the inspiration. And the baby is a doll. 🥰

I love this donut block. It looks so cute with the denim-colored background and the gingham cornerstones really set it off. I love all your ideas and thanks for the chart so we can do different sized blocks and use up all our scraps. That book “Scrappiness is Happiness” is by far the best quilt book I have purchased. I love all your charts in the back. I read that book from cover to cover as soon as I got it!

I must say that it has taken me months of watching to finally understand what makes your quilts so distinctive. First, I was drawn to your colors, then, I was drawn to your scrappiness, and FINALLY! You do "clear colors". (duh!). My quilts never look like yours, because I learn toward DARK .... but, the clear colors of my childhood I did recognize ... and, I liked them very much ... Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with all of us.

I always love your videos….today I’m baffled by your sewing machine. The power toggle switch doesn’t look like it’s turned on…I get that you might have taken out the light bulb for video purposes, but the switch?? Lolol. I also have sewing machine envy. Do you shorten your stitch length when pressing open to keep the ends of the seams from opening? I don't but have started back stitching one stitch at each end (when I can remember!).
