I was homeless in the recent past and I couldn't stand when people would leave rotting blankets and trash all about. I always cleaned the areas I stayed by and encouraged others to do so too, living outside is terrible enough but to live in grime and trash isn't necessary.
Get your hands in there! Really admire the attitude, get stuff done, no whining. In all areas of life, this is a good quality to have. And, when you enter a place, always leave it better when you came in. Snap a trash there, arrange your chair nicely, give a smile.
Our local tip used to operate by letting people just show up during opening hours now we have to make an appointment online and if you're more than five minutes early or late you don't get in. This seems to me a retrograde step, it's certainly resulted in more fly tipping.
Thougth Hounslow heath was cheap because of Heathrow noise. Apartments how much are they? But I wonder what kind of problem the homeless at the tiny camp had, but the solution to that wont work unless that person would actively want It
19:17 you can put what you like on your own property as long as it is not causing a hazerd to the public ie chenicals smell you can put as many sofas as you like on your garden it is not a tip of fly tip the cpn for that is not enforcable
Tipper caught in the act, £1000 fine? Hardly a deterrent considering what they can make between getting caught. The idiot had the gall to act smug that the guy had parking tickets too, like he'd issued them.
They definitely sold the scrap metal... But yea... I guess an auktion or sale might be neat. In the US it's common that such vehicles are sold/auctioned publicly and here in Germany any bicycles that stay locked in a public place for a looong time will be 'ticketed' with a warning note informing the potential owner about the upcoming removal of the bike. Removed bikes are usually sold/auctioned for a very fair price making for a pretty decent opportunity for students or low income people to get themselves a nice bicycle.
I noticed that not one of the blokes in the end of the program, didn't check for needles before getting stuck in, with only thin gloves as Protection, not good, they should of not been allowed to commence work without the proper work clothes for needles ect
I am from the United States. It blows my flipping mind, how perfectly good vehicles are destroyed when they are confiscated. They could be put up for auction and the money put into your social healthcare program, that we here, only dream of having.
£400 fine for dumped TV which was picked back up. £1000 fine for dumped boxes where they drive off leaving it all. Why not impose near or max fine? If that means they have to sell their own property (seized and sold) then so be it.
Why don't you put up needle bins in the public areas? Obviously there is an epidemic but there is no resolve to that right now...in the meantime we need to find a way to make safety adjustments in society.
If one of these officers go abroad and get stopped by customs to have their mobile and luggage checked, seeing thousands off pooey poo pictures, i wonder if the first thing that comes to their mind: 'Did we just catch someone with a poo fetish!?' maybe they will be so disgusted and just let them go not wanting to open any suit cases for fear of what they might find
