This video will be Part 3 of the 1930s Underthings for the complete 1930s wardrobe. #1930swardrobe Well, actually, it's Part 3a, as I felt this Corset Garter Belt deserved it's own blog post and video as it's such a great foundation piece and can be used for so many vintage eras. Part 3b to follow!
Here I'll share a bit of vintage foundations history, how I found this pattern, and how I made it with the translated original instructions.

What a lovely garment! How does the twill tape binding of the top and bottom edges affect the elastic function?

I wondered if I should not apply the twill tape over the elastic but it looked like it was on the pattern illustration. It's why I used running stitches for sewing and the tape does have some give. If I find it inhibits the elastic as I wear it more I can clip it off.

@@aperfecttouch that makes sense! I can imagine adding just the slightest ease while stitching over those portions would help a lot and probably enough for most figures!

@WitchOracle We'll know when I finally get to wear this at length in November! Easily fixable if I have to remove it.
