I just love your explanation of the bound button! First time anyone's showed me what it looks like with a facing/lining! This will be a "go to" video for people for a long time!!! Great job Bianca! :-)

Very nice tutorial! Thank you for sharing. Instead of back-tacking at the beginnings and ends of my stitching on welt pockets/bound buttonholes, I've switched to just reducing the stitch size down to a tiny stitch length in those areas. It seems to be less thread going into the seam that way, and it doesn't come unstitched.

Bound button holes are my favourite! So professional looking and polish off any garment perfectly! Great spreading the bound button hole love. Hopefully some newer sewists will understand it a bit better now.

Bianca, would you be willing to do a vlog on the type of girdles you have found that work with our retro/vintage outfits? I would love to find an open bottom girdle that covers the whole midsection and cannot find that "older" type. Would you give us some insight? Thank you!

Good question! I've actually had the topic a lot on my mind lately and was considering starting to dabble in girdle sewing and the like! For buying online, quick answer is to search for Rago Shapewear (I buy mine from Amazon) or check out What Katie Did UK (they have a US warehouse, too.) Both Rago and What Katie Did have a really huge selection which is all fab. But as I said before, I'm considering starting to sew my own, which if all goes well, would eventually lead to a full video series exploring the topic.

Would this technique work using a serger? Do I need a special foot attachment?

To be honest, not 100% sure 🧐 My instinct says potentially "No" just due to the amount of bulk that might be introduced.

Hello , I understand perfectly but my problem is when u have a jacket with the buttonhole normally done at the end when lining and actual fabric are stuck together.

Depending on the style, I would say your best bet would end up being having to do the buttonhole with a traditional sewing machine zig zag stitch. That way you can capture the whole opening with a strong stitch 👍🏻

This was not helpful at all, no close ups, you skipped steps for no reason, had bad angles so we couldn't see your work, and said "you're gonna go ahead" every other second like you were very nervous. I'm glad this helped someone, but this was left me with more questions.
