You will absolutely love the bias binding maker, my son gave me one last Christmas. It is excellent. I have ordered the Curated Closet book, looking forward to reading it. Your green shirt is fabulous. Thank you for the video.
For the Faux Angora, have a look at 1st For Fabrics "Soft Stretch Knitted Fabric", I have some in the teal and grape (yet to make up) but it is really soft double-faced knitted fabric (42% Viscose/19% Polyamide/39% Polyester)
Ah yes, the hair thing. So many vloggers constantly fiddle with their long hair and I find it so irritating and don't understand it (being a short hair wearer). Glad you are aware😊. Oh and your hair is fab.
Love the shirt especially the tucks. I’m gutted I didn’t get to the pop up and to see you, but there were absolutely no trains that day at all and I didn’t want to drive. Hope to meet somewhere before too long!
I got given a bias machine last Christmas from my MIL…. Bet present ever! You will be thrilled once you learn which way to wind the fabric on…. Take a Photo once you have it sussed!! Shirt is so so so good! Your faux angora sweater is so up my street, if I took a photo of myself everyday I would be wearing that style of jumper!! ❤ I am off to check those patterns out! I was back in France this week and a friend, just yesterday mentioned Lessons in chemistry… she was loving it too! ❤❤
Ordered the book. The publisher owes you commission! I’ve remembered to take photos once - must do better! Love the colour on you of your jumper. It looks almost charcoal.
I’ve got both book and work book on order. I’ve been wanting to have a massive clear out and this may well be the best option. The taking a photo of your daily outfit sounds like a game changer. Have a great weekend Alex 🌻
Such and interesting video, as always! I was just about to also say that Andrea at Beyond the Pink door has the faux angora too! Good luck, hope you find the colours you prefer in your fave fabric.
Andrea from Btpd also has pretty good quality ponte with a higher % of viscose. For trouser fabric I have just used a lovely bamboo twill from Fabric Romance another Irish shop. Love your shirt and keen to hear your ongoing progress with the curated closet.
I'm just waiting for him to mention some expensive thing he wants for his hobbies before Christmas so I can suggest he gets in now if he hands over the Bias Binding maker 😂
I hope that you find the faux angora, I seem to have seen so many inspirations photos this Autumn that show plain round neck jumpers. I probably mentioned that I bought the Jasika blazer to make during lockdown together with the video. It is still on my computer, untouched! Thanks for the information about printing it. I listened to Lesson in Chemistry whilst walking the dog, thoroughly enjoyed it. I have just finished listening to The Many Pieces of Nancy Moon by Sarah Steele and really enjoyed it. Perhaps it is what could be called a 'holiday read' but a good story, well written and sewing is part of the plot! By the way, you are the glamourous one.x
Love those tucks Alex 😍 I have a pattern involving pin tucks (Byrdie Button-up by Pattern Scout) which I've been meaning to make for ages - now I know Pfaff have a pin tuck foot maybe I'll actually do it! I made a tailored jacket this summer and have to say preparation is key. So much interfacing!! I bought a steam press in the end which was a terrific help. The fact that it's called speed tailoring cracks me up as it took hours 😄 Podcasts were my accompaniment so no film recommendations I'm afraid. Looking forward to seeing your progress and good luck!
@@AlexJudgeSews Thinking about which podcasts have stuck in my mind has been an interesting exercise! Turns out I like real life story based ones - particularly crime or scams! From the passed few months I've really enjoyed The Missing Crypto Queen, Fake Psychic and Lucy Worsley's Lady Killers. On a less gruesome theme I'm currently enjoying When it Hits the Fan which looks at PR/Communications cockups from the week. Thought I'd be more current events based but you live and learn 😄
Love the shirt Alex and how fabulous that I got a name check 🥳 my 15 minutes have arrived 😊 I spent an evening trawling through net-a-porter last night saving images of things I like and it's so revealing. Enjoying the process so far. When do I get to chuck everything out the window and start again 😂
Lovely shirt Alex those Tuck's are gorgeous! Omg I loved Lessons in Chemistry so much fave book of year so far. Did you know its about to be a TV series on Apple. Another series you might like on Prime is Daisy Jones and the Six excellent! Very seventies fashion. Thanks again Xx
Lovely shirt! My Jasika pattern is printed and stuck cut out and waiting on the back of the door !!(its only been there about 18 months 😂) I think i ran out of oomph to start the toile!!
Love your shirt, is it a grandad collar? We've been watching Lincoln Lawyer a series on Netflix. Also like Annika on ITV. ❤Looking forward to hearing about progress with the curated closet.
I do love everything about your shirt, definitely your style, as it is mine. Just a curious question, what would you say was the final cost of the blazer pattern after you had it printed. I haven't sent a pattern to be printed yet, but after checking prices at a few different places close to home it's getting quite expensive. (I live in Canada).
I've heard people in Canada say it's expensive to print, in the UK I use Fabulosew who charge £2.30 per A0 sheet which I think is a great price, the time it would take to stick together A4 sheets, but my own printer ink makes it a good deal
