Thank you for your videos! A friend gave me a Singer Heavy Duty 4411 for mask-making 3 yrs ago. It sat idle until last month when I pulled it out to finish a quilt started 25 yrs ago. I was excited to try this “service” video. I was unable to remove the bobbin case, in spite of following your instructions. I was also unable to take the top piece off (it seems almost glued on). I was able to clean out the lint and oil up underneath, so I still feel a sense of accomplishment!
Thank you for this video. I have 2 domestic top loading bobbin machines and 2 industrial single lockstitch machines. I can adjust hook timing on the industrials and they are so much easier than the domestics just from watching your video. I’ll be using a mechanic on the domestics even though they’re out of warranty. It was worth watching just to learn what I’m willing to attempt and what I’m not. Thanks again from a new subscriber.
I ordered the correct bobbin case hoping it would solve the problem on my Brother machine. The rotary hook is not the oscillating kind. The hook race rotates in a circle and is OPPOSITE the needle. I don't remember hiw it used to be. My machine was just under a $100 new so I wouldn't spend that paying for a repair. Is this a job for a professional OR can my Gearhead husband adjust this and how?? Thank you
My needle was pushed way up. And now it scrapes the bottom or the bobbin casing. I attempted to re position the needle bar and that was the outcome. How big of a problem do I have to look forward to now!? My goodness I am going through these machines way too quickly
Looks like you have a 4452, I seen your post in one of the FB groups I am in. Go to 2:45 in the video, see where the hook and needle start coming together? You need to get your hook and needle tar to similar positions then start making adjustments as I describe in the video. If you have questions let me know.
Good job sir just found your chanel,, pls how to fix "feed dog and niddle" timming, because I have issues with the niddle being inside the fabric while the feed dog moves forward, hence the machine doesn't perform well at all, I had to put it aside...
Your videos are great! Thank you. I need help please with Singer Panoramic Model 9018. Underneath a 2" spring was hanging off at 1 side. Didn't take a pic. Next morning, i couldnt recall where it came from. There are 2 x 2"springs underneath. Other 1 fine - but where does 2nd spring go please?
Can your Service Guide still be purchased? I see reference to one but that's on older videos. Anyway I would certainly be interested in ordering/purchasing one. Also are you familiar with the Singer 237 Fashion Mate a side loading bobbin machine from the 60's? I am trying to locate a straight stitch needle plate for one. I was told that there are other vintage Singers that use the same needle plates that the 237 uses, but I certainly don't know which ones. If you know a machine model# that use the same needle plates, I would be grateful if you wd share that info. I would buy you a cup of coffee when know how to do so. I have enjoyed several of your videos. and plan on watching others. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hello JoJo, Sorry for the late response. If you still need the plate you can find it here amzn.to/3pm2P1Q or here amzn.to/3lXRSRR . On the 237 inspect the hinge side of the door that holds the hook in place it is common for it to crack and break. If you need help finding one let me know. Thank you for asking about the guide, no it is no longer available but I am making a series of repair videos that will be available in the future, if you would like to know when they are available let me know. Thank you for your compliments and you are very welcome!
Hello. I have the Singer HD 110c. I just got it threaded and while sewing it made a knot. While pulling the knot out the bobbin carrier popped out with the bobbin. I cannot get it back in. Any instructions? Kind regards, Al.
You mention doing a video on Timing for Side Load Bobbins, but I can't find it. If you have done one, can you add the link? I'm working on a Singer 237M with side load bobbin and zigzag, and in ZZ mode, the thread is wrapping around the bobbin case and getting stuck. It does a straight stitch just fine. Does this sound like timing?
Sorry for the late reply, No it does not sound like timing. On a side load bobbin the hook assembly has to move left and right with the needle. If you turn the machine by hand and look underneath it you will see the the entire hook and lower shaft move back and forth with the needle when doing zigzag. My first thought is that the lower shaft and needle bar are not in sink with each other, so they are not properly moving together.
hello sir, im having problems with my elna 6000 computer sewing machine. problem is whenever i stitch, a bunch of thread gathers under the cloth like the tention is loose but I can't figure out the problem
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your machine. This video should help you figure it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wjZ1jqIL0DA.htmlsi=GteCeXq9d7WsCEug
Sorry for the late response, I do not know of any duel voltage machines, the best I can recommend is either using a Converter or having a machine specifically for Europe.
Hi there! I have a Singer Magic 14 (MN: 8214) and have problems with it, i thought it was the timing, but after viewing your videos I am afraid that it is the big round house where you place the spoolhousr in, it is not turning anymore, can you please place a video how to replace this? Thank you so much greetings Bonnie
Hello Bonnie, I think what you are telling me is the hook is not spinning, the hook where your bobbin case and bobbin set. If that is the case then you more than likely have either a broken gear or broken timing belt. You need to pull the top and bottom off and inspect all your gears and timing belt if it has one and see what is broken.
Thank you for the quick answer, that is indeed, what i was trying to tell you🤣, we have found the problem and now we have to find a spare part, if i know what the name of that part is. Have a nice day greetings from the Netherlands
@@sewingmachinetipsandtricks9079 hi there, i have made an film of my issue with the Singer Magic 14, is it an option to email you the film? Maybe you can tell me what is causing that the gear is not spinning. Thanks in advance, hace a nice day, greeting Bonnie
Can I get a Sears Kenmore Instruction Book for a model number 158.13180 please.if you don't have please let me know who might have.I appreciate any information you may have on this machine.Thank you very much.
I don’t personally have a manual for that machine. You can buy one for $6 here manualsoncd.com/product/kenmore-158-1318-158-13180-sewing-machine-manual/ Or This group in facebook may have one in the files section. They have hundreds you will have to search through, if they have it. It’s a Kenmore and White Group. facebook.com/share/DfSR9AwvVjkVV4DV/?mibextid=K35XfP
My needle is the correct distance away from the hook however the hook never rotates behind the needle when the eye of the needle is down in the position where you should be able to look to see the hook through the eye of the needle… how do I fix that?
Please Please sir, don't use your fat finger as a pointer. Get a sharpened pencil to use as a pointer. Makes it much easier to see what your are talking about. Just saying.
