Oh my goodness I just discovered your channel. You are so creative and generous about sharing your skills. Love the design, the sewing techniques , the back story about your mom and the lovely original music. Thank you!
I’m so glad I found you! I’ve been wanting an everyday linen dress for years. I can’t find anything my style in ready to wear anymore! I’m a quilter, but I made my own clothes in high school. I’m confident I can do this! Thanks so much for sharing the pattern. I’m probably your Mother’s age, or a bit older. She’s gorgeous in that color! Also, I love vintage sewing machines, so seeing yours was a treat for me. Thanks again!
Hi, I see the linen store you recommended has different weights and types of linen. Could you please tell me what exact weight etc. You used for your mom’s dress? I am of the same age as her, but more fuller around the hips and lower stomach, and want to try this project
I've got the pattern because you have so inspired me. Especially all the enclosed edges. Really well planned. Now i can enjoy finding some lovely linen to use. And such lovely music too. Talented lady.
I’ve just found your Chanel. I really like it and the dress for your mother is beautiful. Such a great colour. I’m probably a bit older than your mum….I’m so interested in the fact that she is a farrier. Could you maybe get her to tell us about her work and even see her in action with a horse? Here in England, there a few female farriers. Thank you.
I love how you finish your seams , how this pattern is accessible to every one , how there is minimal waist and that if you have no sewing machine, that you would be able to make it by hand. Relay enjoyed this. Thank you.
Great dress and beautiful color. Thanks so much for free pattern. As someone who loves to sew but also on a tight budget I always appreciate having free ones available. 😊❤
I LOVE your linen work dress! I'm so glad I have the pattern. Thank you!! I'm making it soon! I need to look for linen material! Maybe a soft robin eggs blue! And for Christmas a red one! I love it! Thank you!
Is there a tutorial For the basic tunic that your thumbnail shows? These are lovely but I would really like to see that one as well if possible. I absolutely LOVE your style btw and these dresses.
Love the dress! When I'm less busy I will make it in few different colors, it is a perfect everyday dress. Thank you for sharing. Aria is very shiny girl.
You are a renaissance woman! I LOVE the dress style, and your music id divine. I bow to your creative independent spirit. A preactical question: What weight of linen works best for this dress?
Beautiful color, beautiful work and beautiful mom. I am currently working on sewing my first dress from your free pattern. Thank you for sharing. I am curious what weight linen fabric do you use? I ordered some online and it was very thin.
I adore the style and you enspired me to stop lazing and start doing something with my many fabrics. And I love the music either (...or "too"?) Thank you!
Well I just stumbled across your channel and after watching Video of making your mom a dress I’m inspired to try one for myself! I’ve been looking for linen things and they are either over the top too expensive or they are so cheaply made they aren’t worth buying. This will get me back into sewing after many years. Thank you so much for the free pattern and your video!!
Unfortunately, timlapses are the only way to make these things a 'watchable' length, but maybe I'll make another video sometime of just the sewing construction detail...
Ella what an inspiration you are, I came across this video by chance because I like to sew, I’ve downloaded your pattern (thank you) and completed 4 dresses, your music is beautiful too would love to listen to you live but a long way from the UK, ime very much the same as you if you can make it why buy it, please carry on the good work, much love🥰
How beautiful Emma. Love how you make this dress and each time its a little different ~~ wonderful. Just discovered you today and I must say your style and music are like a balm and are exactly what this frazzled, city-dweller needs right now so thank you xx Looking forward to exploring more...
Hi, oh I just love your musician and sewing techniques... Thank you so much, pleases don't stop doing what you are doing.. Lots of love all the way from South Africa
Hola!
All I have in my city is Joanns for fabrics and 2 quilt shops. Where can I order linen online? I hesitate to order online when I can’t see it and feel it.
A beautiful gift. And the dress happens to be something I've been thinking about for working around the farm, but couldn't quite picture. This is it. Just bought it, thank you. Your music is beautiful, too.
I do make them for sale occasionally, but with a thousand other things going on in life they are quite expensive and much more economical to make oneself
I love this style of dress and your demonstration is inspiring me to make and learn how to do flat-felled seams. I’ve downloaded your pattern and I’m grateful, but I don’t see any information about how much fabric is required or how to determine what size one needs. Thank you for your generosity.
I have just discovered your channel also, and can you tell me where your get your linen, I actually think I could make this dress....I just love the space, living in Arkansas where it gets to 98-100 from late june to late september, that is something I want to wear all the time....thank you. ' you approach sewing is like my grand mother and friends of her generation, getting as much as possible from the fabric what is left will become either a quilt or a rug...and it is no nonsense and doesn't take days to do...love it. I did see your video of the v neck dress as well, my first video of yours... I want that one as well.
SIEMPRE NÚME AN 1.
Dziękuję ci kochana, zdrawiam cię i twoją wspaniałą mamę serdecznie i życzę wam wiele miłości. ❤
I know this fabric shinks about 3%, and cut my pattern pieces to account for that (as evidenced by it fitting) but you are of course welcome to pre-wash if you prefer
Hi Ella, I have been trying to download the free work dress pattern for some time now, with no success. Could you help please. Thank you, I would love to make it.
Thankyou for this video. It's a beautiful dress and I have the printer going already. I absolutely love that you have a special motif for each dress you have gifted. What a lovely addition. I have also added you to my artist list on my you tube music account. Beautiful music.
To me, the dress looked better before it was washed. After, it looks something that was used as a bed for a pet, all wrinkled and frumpy. The color is lovely, for sure, but the frumpiness kills it, IMO.
Oh, how I love linen, so beautiful. My current project is a summer housecoat from muslin. I'm going with a front closure of course. Just light, loose and airy. Watching you for inspiration. To the drawing board. 😆
Hi Ella, Just found your channel. I am sewing all weekend long and will be binge listening to your music and watching your sewing/life videos. Thank you for your simple yet comfortable designs made from one of my favorite fabrics. What model sewing machine are you using. It looks like a Singer but because of the zig zag ability it may be a Meister. I wondered if you could say. I have a zig zag attachment that I use on my Singer treadle machines.
