I like to cut one day and sew another day too. That's just the way I organize my time. There's just not enough hours in a day it seems...and I'm retired!😂😂😂 I think that top looks so cute on you!

That is one classy evening top! Looks great in the black and white and black trousers. Thanks for showing us your thought process in making a garment. I write on my patterns in the heat erasable pens then I iron them off at the end. That helps me keep track on where I am. Thanks for showing us that pattern ❤xx

Yes it's a great pattern Carole. I plan to sew up the other 2 views. The set in sleeves were a challenge and took longer than they should have for some reason. It might have been the fabric. I heard of others using heat erasable pens on instructions, I am so used to writing on post-it notes and I clip the instructions on the clipboard. It's hard to change that now. Enjoy your time sewing when Chris is away. I know you will be sewing up a whole new wardrobe! 💖💖

I totally understand. I wash first and vmcut early in the morning before work. I sew Friday or on weekends. I made that pattern, and it's a great basic. Great planning, Grace

Hi, Grace. We arrived in central Florida a week ago. What’s up with this weather!?!? It is so dreary, rainy and super windy. Did I bring the right clothes? Of course not. We are camping in an RV and I brought my sewing machine. I’ld make some tops but only brought quilting projects this time. You are so beautiful in what ever you make. If you got it, flaunt it! Oh to be young and have a waist again. That top is perfection. Great video on your project process. Looks like I’ll be at the Expo. I’ll keep an eye out for you.

Hi Susan, Yes is cloudy and very windy across the state. At least there is no snow or ice. Where are you in Central Florida? I live in Citrus County. Also, I will be at the EXPO on Thursday and Friday. I can't wait to meet you!

Yes, cutting can be tiring. I like to have everything already marked and cut out and sew first thing when I make a project. Glad you enjoyed this.

Hi Grace! That was good to see how you organize a project and get down to it. You said you like to cut one day, sew the next. Well, that's the way I have to do it! It takes me quite a while to get the material laid out; and then the pattern laid out on the material, pinned and cut. I started my next sewing project but haven't worked on it in a few days. It's going to be a t-shirt type nightie. Happy Sewing!!

Hi Grace! Cute top! I'm not a big fan of peplum tops, but this one is VERY cute!!! I heard of one YT vlogger who writes on her pattern instruction sheet with Frixon pen so she can erase the marks when she's finished the garment. What a genius idea, huh? I sure thought so. Same with marking on pattern pieces! The only danger is that you have to be 100% sure that you've picked up a heat-erasable pen and not a regular ink pen before making notes. I think your method to cut one day, sew the next is a great idea. Happy birthday next Thursday, Grace!!! (I didn't want to forget.) 🎈🥳🎉🍾🎊🎂🎁🥰

Always inspiring, and belated Happy Birthday! I don't usually cut and sew on the same day, either, but that's because I'm so slow when I cut things out 😁! Enjoyed seeing your process. I have been wondering if you ever need to alter patterns or are able to wear them right out of the packet? Everything you make seems to fit you so well!

Thank you Mary for the birthday wishes! 😊 Generally I cut a size 16 in a Big 4 pattern woven and a size 14 or 12 in a knit depending on the stretch. I do make fine adjustments for fit preference. The key is to look at the finished garment measurements on the pattern pieces for the bust, waist and hips. Depending on the design or fit I want to achieve, I may mix sizes of pieces within the same pattern. Thanks for your kind comments!
