Oh my goodness.... Thank you so very, very much! I have needed to add snaps to things for so long and most of the videos for snaps aren't as clear, so I just set it all aside. You have absolutely made my day! 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you, I thought I could apply the plastic snaps with my hands without the press. Thank you for showing what the press does to the stud. I can’t do that with my hands.
Hmm I have never been able to get the metal ones to attach well. I have tried the pliers as well as using the tool you hit. Must try again with your advice or maybe just get some of the plastic ones as they seem a bit better for what I need anyway. Great demo by the way.
Hi Peggy, as I have continued to use these metal snaps in the last 2 years I have found that it is easiest if I orient the pliers so the pronged half of the snap is always on the bottom. So I will turn my item of clothing whichever way allows me to have the prongs sticking straight up. This helps them to stay put when I am sliding the fabric between the pliers. Hope that makes sense!
Gosh I couldn't figure it out the metal set I got either! So thankful for this video! 🥰 About that included metal tool, do you just gently hammer it on the male or female side of the installed snap (using the correct end of the tool) to make the "claws" grab tighter? Thank you again!
Thank you for this Informative video. I realize that this was about installing them. But I have one question. Over time, how does each rank in their durability? For example, rusting/cracking. The snap losing. Etc. Is one worth the extra effort or money as far as durability?
I have been using both types for about a year, and so far they hold up equally well! I tend to use the metal when I am attaching thinner fabrics or want less bulk, like in inner leg seams of baby clothes. I gravitate toward the plastic when I want a bright pop of color or the fabric is thicker. You can also order the kam snaps with extra long prongs for particularly thick fabric, although I have not needed to do that.
When do you need the pliers?? Cant you manualy install thel metal snaps with the tool & mallet? I remember my mother used a hammer and the tool to set snaps. Maybe because the hand plier types were so expensive when they first came out?
Ps, I'm part of a group on Facebook and the owner has said there's only one affiliated seller they use on Amazon. I don't know if you can message me via RU-vid and I can pass the information onto you privately. I don't really want to post it on a comment. I just want you to be safe with whatever you're buying for your baby, it's best to be extra safe and cautious 💜 x
@@sewitshellbee7593 I would probably just drop the Kam Snaps owner a message from her website and just ask her about the Amazon seller that you've bought them from - just for reassurance :). Stay safe x
Thanks, the best explanation of how to use the two snap types. No waffle, close up and clear demonstration. I've subscribed because I like your patience in not assuming everyone knows what to do.🎉❤😊
The only thing that I would say would have been helpful is for you to show the camera clearly what the piece looks like that you are installing into the press, before actually putting it in there. I have a kit, the one with all the metal pieces and there are different types of fronts and different types of backs. Two types, color and just plain metal. And the installation steps that come with it are so vague.
