You're adorable.. "nothing could go wrong right"!!! A year ago I thought quilting was just sewing how hard can it be if you've sewn for years!!! Your tips and videos are very helpful.
Famous last words!!! I have a superstition to not say those words, because it will bite you in the bottom, for sure! I have never sewn any type of garments. I would think it would be hard to switch from the seam allowance when sewing to getting that 1/4" seam! But, with practice, we do make progress....Thank you for stopping by!
Thank you so much for making this video! It was so helpful!! This is the 2nd time i have tried to make a 'strip' quilt. the first time was 3 yrs ago and it was the very 1st quilt i tried to make. i was going to make it for my grand daughter for Christmas. I got all of the strips sewn together and OMGOSH!!! I started to cry because it was all curved and i had no idea what i had done!! I stopped trying to make it and just bought her something instead. Now I am trying again. I have been very careful paying attention to the instructions, starting on one side then going to the other end...it started curving again so i did it from the other end. it straightened out a little but im scared to continue. I thought i would ck online for a video that would show me what i have been doing wrong. I was just making sure i was just starting the stitch on the opposite end from the one i had started before and it was wrong. No idea i was supposed to be matching the fabric and not just sewing the opposite end, if that makes any sense. wither way, i was doing i t wrong. Thank you so much! Terri Saak
So informative, thanks. About to try Bargello and using a jelly roll ( hate the pinked edges lol ) I had a thought they should be sewn alternate ways and you show exactly what happens. Also what to do with pinked edges . Thank You
Sew glad this was helpful! Those strips I sewed with were 2 5/8". If they were 2.5", I would just figure out if 2.5" was peak to peak or valley to valley and sew from there. Every manufacturer does their jelly roll differently! Thank you sew much for stopping by and commenting! We truly wish you complete happiness with your strip piecing!!
Absolutely! If it consistent, you will be fine! Consistent in size and your "quarter inch seam." Consistency is key with this type of quilting. Thanks for asking...brilliant question!
