Am I the only one that got tricked into thinking that they were going to actually show her audition

Kim is so incredibly well spoken....I love her! She is the reason I watched Sex and the City....She made the show and the movies....There's only one Samantha Jones...She's irreplaceable!!

She made the show. It would be boring without her. Not to mention the most attractive.

That is Kim's true voice. She is soft spoken, which I think is hard to believe you would think she would project better or she would not be as nervous but no, that is her.

Samantha is the best character. The greatest friend. I appreciate her more now that I am older.

This video shows how great of an actress she is because the role that she's playing is unbelievably different from what she really is like. She seems so nice and polite and the way she talks just... she is perfect 🥺

Love Kim always thought she was the best actress of all of them. Now I know her voice was characterized too I’m impressed she kills it. Samantha made that show for me , her and Miranda.

Kim Catrall is the SOUL of the Sex and the City. Nothing can beat her and no one could replace her.

Just finished rewatching the series and can still conclude Kim carried the show. I hope one day she’ll feel brave enough to share her experiences with us

She comes off so differently here than her character. I guess that's the thing about acting.

If it hadnt been for The way Kim played Samantha, the show wouldn’t have been so successful. This why the producers literally begged her to take the role back then. Nobody talks when she turned the offer down a few times and let me quote her from this video “the script was handled first to me.... then came back to me after SJP was attached.... we had numerous lunches... “ the producers knew that Kim is talent they need!!

Her voice is so soothing. I could listen to her for hours.

She as an actress and Samantha as a character were so disrespected by the shows writers and producers, it's no wonder she chose not to return for the new limited series. If she wasn't having sex she was talking about having sex or advising the others on their sex lives. Even when she got cancer, it wasn't written the way she deserved. She did an amazing job with what she was given, but I felt for her even back then. And then the second movie her entire storyline was about going through menopause. That was it. Such a waste of talent. Meanwhile SJP (and I do like her) as one of the producers, got to be the bitch, the joker, the lady, the vamp, the cheater, the jealous wife, the fashionista, the drama queen etc etc and STILL remained the least interesting character of the bunch.

SJP smiles at her as she speaks, and laughs with her at the things she says. It's such a shame that they wound up not liking each other.

OMG I love this woman, I love her boldness, her ambition, her beauty, plus we share the same b-day.....

The past few weeks I’ve read, watched and listened to how unfairly Kim Cattrall had been treated by mean girls. I know that feeling all too well. I hope that she still has retained some of that sweetness that comes across in her voice of so long ago. I hope I have. If I have not I will look for it and make it my own again.

Samantha Jones' character was what breathed life and spice to the show.

Kim Cattrall, you were my favorite part of the series, Samantha's freedom and independence. Her defiant self reliance. You embodied it so perfectly.

Wonderful woman, I hope she can get all the projects she dreams of these coming years- she deserves it. She seems like a very humble, thoughtful and wise person.

Kim Cattrall is going to win now that she's left the show

Samantha was the most innovative character. She was honest, their are people in our society who don’t want children or a traditional spouse, this character was ahead of her time and I would be more interested in her story as a single “ person,” living the next stage of her life and how she navigates it. The reason the reboot is so overly dramatic is because at this stage your relationship hinges on maintenance and work is boring so Miranda becomes a lesbian and Big gets killed off, Charlotte will remain static as the normalcy barometer.

I doubt I'll be watching the reboot. Kim's character, Samantha, was my favorite thing about the show. Knowing what I do about Kim's horrible time on the set, as well as seeing that Instagram post she (rightfully) made toward Sarah Jessica Parker, just turns me off even more from watching a whole new show without my favorite character in it. I just don't really care to watch a show starring people that mistreated their co-star so badly that she refuses to be in the same room as them, even if Kim had not been my favorite actress in the series.

There’s some chat in here about the characters and particularly about Carrie and how a lot of people hate her now. I think all the women were archetypes of different types of women and each one of them had very specific strengths and flaws. Samantha was sexually liberated but afraid to be vulnerable. Miranda was career driven and generally quite cold. Charlotte was kind and sweet, but also desperately needy and shallow in terms of her ideal partners. Carrie was free spirited inquisitive and smart, but overthought things and made bad choices in relationships. As the show went on, they each learned from failed relationships and learned from each other so their characters softened and became more open minded and smarter in understanding what types of relationships they actually needed. It makes sense that we might identify with one or two over the other... Charlotte was the one I agreed with the least as she was way too prim and conservative for me, but the show needed all four of them so women (and men) could see the patterns in their own relationships and maybe learn a thing or two about what they are doing wrong.

I just don't think I can watch the new show without Kim. I can't imagine what happened for her to feel so hurt or betrayed that she is done. How these women didn't form some sort of bond with characters that are so there for each other, I don't know.

The first movie I ever saw in an American movie theater is Mannequin. Kim Cattrall will always have my heart. Wish she's back at the reboot but I understand why she decided not to.

Do you mean the characters or the actresses ? Because to me it ain't hard : Carrie Bradshaw is the LEAST interesting woman on the show, she's shallow, needy, cheesy and, well, ultimately stupid. She basically does the same mistakes all over again. What a poor image of the "modern" woman that the show seemed to mirror ... To me, the interesting ones were Samantha and Miranda. Those two were actually modern , smart and independant women.

The show was trailblazing, and definitely a special moment in time.

I grew up watching Sex and The City probably too young to watch it at the time. Still it taught me so much about love, friendships, confidence being a strong powerful woman in your own way. How to build your own path! Kim was always the one I really admired! Although I loved them all! This is still classic and I always watch the seasons over every year!

When you see her real life and the person on the screen....you know how much this person is in love with that they do!!! Inspiring! Also never remember other girls...could relate to her character and now love her in person!!!

Interesting how even back then Kim was focused on growing the characters which further explains why she quit the series when she did. She made the right decision to leave.

Love and respect for Kim and so dear character Samantha. ❣️ I love Sara but I was very disappointed with her comment that Kim's absence isn't a problem in this new part, cause Samantha isn't needed in that storyline. So, so sad and disrespectful- mostly towards women who chose not to fit in stereotype roles in life.

She can hate this character all she wants and despise the cast, but she was very progressive for the time the show was popular. She is the woman I would like to be more like. Successful, emotions in check, knows what she wants, not ashamed of who she is, beautiful, smart, and fuck what the norm is! Love her in this show 🌻💕. She should embrace it more!

I don’t think Kim got shortchanged at ALL. I applaud her for being the only one of the ladies to recognize that the story has run its course and it should remain a done deal. This new series is going to make the second movie look Oscar worthy!
