I wish we could have an Eric spin-off following his pastor career and the amazing people he meets on his way and how he creates a world for faith and queerness to exist together. I’m not particularly religious myself but I think the world could need some of that
Eric's talk with God really stuck with me, as someone who struggles with believing in anything it's amazing at seeing just any sort of complete acceptance of who you are. That we have meaning, purpose, in just being ourselves to cause change and be something bigger than what we perceive ourselves to be.
This is super nerdy, but for me it was a prediction for who he’d be as the Doctor. (Of course within the scope of the show, it relates to his calling as a pastor). But it’s a lovely thought to think that Ncuti as the Doctor will “change hearts and minds” and is “so bright that others can find him in the darkness”.
I loved how true to himself Eric is throughout the show. He was kind, empathetic, eccentric till the end. He was the best character on the show along with Maeve. He really made this show and gave it a heart ❤
Other African descended actors might feel the same way. Michaela Coel decided to be in Wakanda Forever to raise awareness of LGBTQ characters to her parent country.
