YEES! i have been hunting for footage of this day/night for years! See, I WAS THERE as a kid of one of those on strike and it was constant laughing, laughing and laughter, Honestly, forget the fact is was the Pistols, as a kid i'd heard the name (I was 10) but it was the fun and safety, togetherness, fun that was ace... I heard the music and all the kids took it in the stride dancing and screaming.. brilliant. never forgotten what the lads did that day. never mind the bullshit, each member of the band was ace.. thanks guys if you c this. This has been my fav song since 1978. I'm 58 years married and my walls are covered with Pistols The verses are completely ruthless, it's such a shame that they ended after just one album

Ya know... I'm 60 now... A lot has happened in the world since the Pistols arrived. And if you're paying attention, some of us have learned a lot more in the past two years that have answered a lot of questions and placed things into proper context. I like the Sex Pistols more now than I did then because... As I listen to their lyrics... it dawns on me that much of what we're just figuring out... They already knew. This video proves to me that probably no band was more misunderstood than the Sex Pistols. Maybe because of their presentation or their cantankerous off stage antics... The helplessness of addiction... But every song had a purpose... Drawing attention to the things they saw that was wrong with special emphasis on the UK. I'm rambling a bit... But do you see it? They knew the true lineage of the Monarchy... They knew how many abortions and about Jimmy Saville... They knew the game that had to be played for stardom in the music industry... And they weren't buying any of it!

Amazing....getting a slice of cake from Johnny Rotten and your older sister trying to chat up Sidney Vicious and him saying he already has a girlfriend. Its like an amazing dream....its so wholesome.....the kids went home and the all adults danced to Bodies......XD once in a lifetime. Greatest Christmas kids party ever.

I first heard this on a beat up old tape my coworker in a cafeteria slop room loaned me in 1985. I never heard music or society the same way. As I finish my PhD in literature (Shakespeare), I find that no artist has written so eloquently or with as much pathos about a woman and a child. Brilliant. Thanks guys.

I watched "Pistol" on Disney Channel and it was xxxx great! It's a tragedy, but the "Bodies" video really brings it to life in the end.

@ Daria Andreeva I agree with your sentiments, that was a great documentary last night on BBC4 'Never Mind The Baubles: Xmas '77 With The Sex Pistols' It certainly was about time more of that Huddersfield footage was finally released for those interested enough to watch it, Like John said, "that footage has been locked away in a vault for far too long"

This was the pistols I wanted to see, just being humble and kind to everyone rather than what they were painted out to be.

THEY STOOD FOR ALL THAT WAS RIGHT MADE ONE INCREDIBLE ALBUM AND THEN FUCKED OFF. GENIUS. THE CLASH MADE INCREDIBLE MUSIC BUT THE PISTOLS MADE HISTORY.

@rene8564 Good comment, I totally agree with what you say about Johnny & Sid and how they were portrayed in the public eye. And even though back then was more of a somewhat simplistic time period, it does go to show how people can be terrified of something they don't understand, and that of somebody who doesn't fit in with 'the norm' of those who are more akin with the so-called 'moral majority'. @scouserla1 After making such a bold statement I have to ask, what was it you think the band stood for? Also, the only people that made money from the band were Richard Branson & Malcolm McLaren. The band were actually used for all they were worth and they eventually sued McLaren for royalties that they justifiably deserved. You've actually made a band that changed the course of music sound like the spice girls. You may like listening to the Sex Pistols, but you clearly don't really know anything about them...

Johnny Rotten would have been an excellent elementary school teacher. He developed rapport and provided SEL before those were even terms. Seriously though, those kids' parents were cool asf to let them join that party.

@PBANDSNOW I didn't know about this until you mentioned it. Just seen a clip on RU-vid and it appears footage of this date are indeed in SS&S, will have to track that down it looks interesting. I noticed though the song 'Satellite' is used over the footage, but as you might be able to detect here, you can tell most of it is 'Bodies' that's being performed.

If Anarchy in the UK is the anthem, then Bodies is the war cry......

Not 'entirely'... You don't see OR get the FULL track in the documentary, I filled in the gaps using further footage not in the TFATF doc, which are from a short film shown in the UK in 2008 called 'The Ghosts Of Christmas Past' in which showed footage from the Ivanhoes Christmas childrens benefit concert December 1977 and interviews of the children that were there, now grown up...

Kids today can't even go near a smear of peanut butter letter none a sex pistols brandishing cake, And a bit of effing and blinding. Great stuff.

Most effective use of the F word in any rock song in history !

It's obviously footage from the gig overdubbed with the studio recording of the song. And Rotten doesn't even come close to looking like he's singing Bodies in any of the shots so I'd say ep13 is probably right.
