I agree, ToaJoe. From what I've read, my expectations of Sid's playing has been rock bottom until seeing this. I guess he had the perfect chemistry flowing thru his veins on this evening. Perfect Punk!
Dallas he was on dude idk what your talking about,I have the bootleg of the Longhorn gig has god save the queen,i wanna be me,seventeen, new york and hes loud and playing alright,he played the whole gig, very softly after those 4 songs, listen youll hear it. then during bodies steve rips sids cable out of his amp, then sid played on anarchy and no fun at that end. very quietly.
@theRavenTrue I know, I'm like learning on how to scream right now ^-^ I've had a punkrock band for a few years but I'd like to try something new ^-^ You can always look back on things, great things but you may never forget that you could mean the same thing for someone over a few years. If only you work hard enough and have fun in it ^-^
nono the had written the music and glen said "john could get how we felt into the songs by singing his way"..thats totally different than what you said..and actualy glen and john wrote most of the songs glen dident just do pretty vacant he also did half of submission,i wanna be me,satellite and did some lines in all the pistols hits...your giving john way too much credit
yeah but by this point he would have been playing for around a year, and a bassist who has been playing that long should be able to play much better than him.
actualy glen did write some of gstq, just watched a vh1 special in 7 ages of rock and rotten said word for word " glen and me wrote some of gstq and then he left and it became our anthem for the people " glen also wrote pretty vacant, most of submission,i wanna be me,problems..and he wrote almost every guitar riff then showed jonesy,...if you listen to the gstq demo those are matlocks lyrics and order of how the song was witch i think the demo is alot better..nvmtb was to edited! haha
it wouldent be worse dude..glen played brillaintly and they were a better tighter band then..once glen left steve had to change up the riffs to fill in more no bass..listen to steve when glen played he nailed every chord and note..once glen left it got sloppy till the end
no sid started actualy foolin around on the bass in april 2 months after he joined..he was a drummer before he was in the pistols..and also hes fucked up on heroin and winterland sid did really good..steves guitar should have been up.
mhm,the roadies dident mic steves twin well in this gig till towards the end..steve was having alot of problems that night his guitar cut out a few times, kicked the cable out of his twin, came out of tune alot..good gig tho
Poor old Sid should have been lead singer in another band. He starts off fine on the bass but clearly gets bored. He should have asked Wobble to form a band. That would have changed the history a bit!!!.
@theRavenTrue i'm not gonna discuss this 'cause i didn't have the honor to live in that time ;( x) all I can do is read the stories 'bout it and listen to the songs, punk has changed a lot since then.
@MsSaturn3 he couldent play bass to begin with he was their for apperences and had no musical talent true hes the best rembered member but he was a shit musician
