He and his cohorts were already removed from the Catholic priesthood as they have formed an association called Association of Married Catholic Priests of the Philippines (?) which, BTW, isn't recognized by the Catholic Church. Their association is calling for the Catholic Church to allow priests to marry and that they be recognized again as full-pledged priests again. I don't say that what they are fighting for is wrong as marriage among priests is not a dogma. The pope can overturn priestly / nun celibacy overnight. But until that happens, priests and nuns presently cannot marry, unless they will cease from being one.

At least he's honest in what he's doing. There are those countless Priests, Bishops, etc who in their holy garb, have molested innocent nuns, children. I feel if the Catholic Church approved, they will not even have time to think of sexual misconduct if they're decently married. And, like he said, it's man-made rules. Totally agree. The Bible is a book that explicitly permits chattel slavery, celebrates genocide, delights in dashing babies against rock, admonishes death for basically everything, treats women as property to be raped/sold, worships a narcissistic tyrant, and is purely abusrd, iron age nonsense. If any disagree with any of these points, I encourage reading it for yourself. Maybe start with PSALM 137:9 or Leviticus 25:44-46.

Sexual abuse is not just a violation of an internal law of the church it violates penal law and moral laws. The state must do something on these matters. This does not fall in the separation of church and state because penal laws are already violated.

Hi Ms. Angela! The one mentioned in the video was the Basilica of Santo Nino de Cebu. I also heard news a few years ago about a priest who had similar issues and issues of violence from the Parish of Danao. Presently, I dont know any recent acts of misconduct from any priest in Cebu. But I would greatly suggest that you would contact the victim from Cebu shown on the video . Im sure he has knowledge of other victims and where to find them. I watched your channel and I admire your work. Also if I can help you in any way just email me. I think thats the least I can do to make changes.

There are more stories unreported in the Philippines much worse than highlighted here. But thank you for a good start into exposing the real culture of cover-up and hypocrisy in the Catholic church in the Philippines. I still am a strong Catholic and that's the reason why I want to rid the church of priests/religious that are maligned with the vocation that they have accepted. There are far more worse stories that can be considered heinous happening everywhere you go in the Philippines. There has been books written about these incidents, but those bishops covering up their own priests are as much to blame for not doing the right thing. The sad part is that they go all the way into covering this up, not even the CBCP president at present is innocent of this.

Between 1965 to 1969, there was a parish priest in San Ildefonso, Bulacan who was very popular and outspoken. I felt and assumed the he was a gay priest by the way he talked and being very blunt. One afternoon in PMT period, I overheard an officer who told another 4th year student that, "Father told him to tel him that he is expected in the priest house that night, as his replacement". It suddenly came to me that the 4th year class were sleeping in the priest's house, in round-robin assignment. I was already married and with children that I concluded that the priest was sexually abusing the 4th year members of the class at the Buenavista High School which was chaged to La Salle High School.

There was a time in our parish that the priest was accused of child abuse and gambling. It was proven but sadly he was relocated to other parish. Then our new parish priest has attitude, a bad one. That's why i dont go to church anymore and just pray when ever I have a chance.

I think it is not about married or not to avoid sexual abuses because there are many abuses done by others. I think it is about self-control, vocation discernment, formation to priesthood. Let us cooperate to form our priests to follow Christ completely.

My wife is from lipa Batangas in the Philippines and she said she witnessed several cases of known child abuse in the local Catholic Church in her community or province. She said she had literally witnessed the police doing nothing about it. Its unreal to imagine what I would do to these individuals if only I could just get my hands on them. No children deserve to be abused and it is absolutely binding and unequivocally concrete . No children will ever be mistreated in MY eyes the way my wife had to witness it. I'm just as happy to spend time in a pinoy jail same as pike county detention and correctional center 😢

FR Ned Diso, a Canon Lawyer. What the heck did just he said about the case? They were just after money and that the findings of the court is that the accused is not guilty? So they threw the case away, unbelievable. Ang linaw na nag side ang court sa Catholic Church because of the so called POWER that the church had. My Uncle Carlos was a good priest that he became in favor of the bishop in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. But he fell in love, got out of the priest hood. He was raising 2 daughters. He had a hard time finding employment but no employer would employ a defrocked priest. He was so depressed that he eventually died. His brothers, my other uncles and aunt are hush, hush about the whole incident. He should have become an Episcopalian priest, he would have fared better.

These priests are mostly has a strong connection with the mayor of the town which also has a connections with people on a higher position. So they're basically invulnerable. They'll eventually get them and if justice won't prevail then God will be their final judge.

I grew up Catholic, and I feel like the requirement for priests and nuns to take a vow of celibacy is basically rooted in the fear of women and sexuality within Christianity (not just Catholicism by the way). Just another reason why I stopped going to church, or believing in any religion at all.

I grew up in Pandacan..and in the early 1980s, the priest at Penafrancia church was outwardly nice, but my male gradeschool classmates once told that he would grope them when they served as altar boys. That priest even rose above the ranks. In my highschool, I stayed in a convent school. The nuns were equally nasty. They may not have resorted to sexual abuse, but they were always angry, always looking at ways for the kids to slip up so they can shout and berate us. There was no tenderness nor compassion.
