I love the way he pulls people into comedic cul de sacs until they start stammering and then pulls them out again. Thats just how much faster he is than them.
He was never trying to run circles around the guests. He was trying to communicate a message of, “You can just relax here. I’m not worrying about taking this too seriously, and neither should you. Even so, we don’t have to be phony, either. It’s all up to you.” I think you’re mistaking his playfulness for hauteur. What you’re suggesting was never Craig’s intention, and I’ll tell you why. He has made it very clear in multiple interviews that his overarching intent with the show was to deconstruct the traditional late-night format. He hated the blandness and sterility of pre-prepared interviews and impersonal, cookie-cutter questions; hence, why he would tear them up before every guest.
yeah but I think what he meant is that he is just very playful and masterful at what you described so it feels a bit like he is the driver on the train and he just brings his guests along for the good ride. My opinion is that he made all his guests shine, so I kinda agree with both of you at the same time :D

So obviously I came here for the red dress...... ach hem... And by the way our Canadian bacon is delicious and has adiquit amount of fat. You have to know which brand to get...some has way to much ,some doesn't have any . Drakes meats is good. But I buy which ever is on sale at the time.😃🇨🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸
