I have a 2001 HH Super Strat. They were sold with the PG in the bridge, and ‘59 at the neck. The PG in my Strat sounds awesome clean. Actually bell like. One of the best pickups I have heard on any guitar.
Dude I just wanted to add this is one badass tone.. I can tell you've been putting in the time over the years but man I've been at at 43 years and I can tell when a guy has a good touch on his instrument way to go brother Rock on
Wow, killer tone on both PUPs!!! Great song and phenomenal playing!!! I was weighing the JR vs Distortion. But something about that loose distortion of the Pearly Gates just cuts right through and warms everything up. Great job writing, playing, and gear demonstration!!!!
You're a great player bro. Hope I can get to that level. Ive decided after watching your video on the Pearly Gates for my Nick Johnston HSS! Thanks man
Amazing Playing dude, this is prime example of a Very Good Guitar player making any guitar shine, both sounded awesome but decided to give the Pearly Gates a Shot after seeing this Ty 🤘
Yeah the jam got me to sub 👍 greetings from Texas. PS - the Pearly sound way better on high gain people saying otherwise need to get out of town lol those things DooM hard without all the wimpy high-end.
I’ll be damn. The PG has an upper midrange bump that sits in the mix better. I can hear how the guitar would stand out more without having to be louder. The JB is slightly darker, which surprised me. I’ve always known the JB to sound midrange-y to me.
First off, killer playing and tone with both!!! My question is what time pots do you have 250K or 500K? Looking to put a Humbucker in my strats bridge.
I thought the pearlies carried just alittle bit more weight..which means the jb is coming out of my Bob Moore..lol..btw that strat was big and mean with both pups . I might have to pull my hot rail in the bridge pos on my strat..great tone dude
now I bought an LP guitar for the first time in my life and understood for the first time what a Fender guitar actually means and how to play it. Thank you for your opinion .
Good player. Both of them sounds fantastic. PG sounds more darker and with mids a litte boosted and runs better for leads. In the other hand JB sounds more balanced and brighter and runs awesome for rythm. (By the way Highway 1 HSS has 250k pots, I think;). Maybe you could try the 59 hybrid custom (both worlds, lead & rythm)
I have the JB on a Les Paul and a Melody Maker and that's quite true, it gives nice bass and mediums but not as muddy as some classic PAF. Treble gets quite agressive sometimes but i adapt the eq or roll down the tone a little and it sounds perfect. They are also more versatile than the PG.
