Agnes, I have super-sensitive skin, too, even cashmere can be irritating, and here’s my recommendation: I wear a very thin, knitted silk, long-sleeved t-shirt under my sweaters. They not only prevent skin irritation, but they keep the sweaters clean. They’re much easier to wash than a cashmere sweater and hang dry in a few hours. I have two in beige and one in black and that’s plenty. I got mine on Amazon, they might have a little rayon blended in the fabric, but that works fine, it’s even more breathable than silk. Plus, when I overheat (this starts in one’s 40s), I can take the sweater off briefly and still be fully, if sexily, dressed in the tee, unlike if just wearing a bra. (I used to hide in bathrooms in my bra when I got hot flashes, these silk tees eliminated that nuisance.)

I’m having a hard time getting the sizing right on my Sezane orders, their size chart is really confusing. The first shirt I got is enormous even though I used the size chart (I kept it anyway), so, when I just ordered another shirt, I chose two sizes smaller. But, now I’m worrying whether I should change that order to one size up. France is so far from San Francisco, where I live, that I don’t want to wait two months to exchange sizes. A lot of their clothes are too frou-frou for me (I’m 62 and want sophisticated items) but the high quality is so appealing and they do have some simpler styles, like the silk shirts I’ve ordered and their prices compare well to other brands I like (Lily Silk, Quince, Theory, Equipment, Banana Republic, J. Crew, etc.).

Is the Sezane pop up store still in SF? I know they often don’t have too many items in the pop up store but it might be a good way to check out different sizes.
