Thanks Marissa :) So glad to hear. I try to share as much as I can so anyone ordering knows exactly what to expect and aren't surprised (like I often am with colour/sizes etc) haha).
I actually think the dress low neck totally works on you! Maybe it's just a matter of what you feel comfortable in. The dress length though I agree would be nicer in a longer length. Love your videos, I feel like you give totally unbiased reviews!
The algorithm landed me here because I love Sezane. So thanks! IMO, it's the best better fashion online retailers, with top quality items, fab fabrics and knits, speedy felivery to North America from Paris and free and easy returns. DO check the size guides and follow the suggestions when the descriptions say, "if you're between sizes, size up/down." I have two of these items already: (1) The Oana blouse which, as a Kibbe Romantic, is perfect for me. I also love its slightly boho sensibility. Lovely cotton, gorgeous colours (at least for those needing a warmer palette), and it seems to go with everything. I can hardly wait for warmer weather to pair this with straight or wide-legged cream jeans, blue jeans, tan jeans, etc. (I'm not a skirt type.) I've tried it with cropped motos in beige faux suede and tan leather, a white cropped fitted linen blazer, a brown cropped "Chanel" type jacket, and so much more If you're unsure about size and don't want an overly blousy fit, size down is my advice. (2) The black Scarlett lace blouse. So sexy and yet demure at the same time. The lace, all cotton, does feel a bit "heavier" as you point out, but the whole thing is so airy that I'm certain it will be perfect for summer. Right now, I'm rocking it with black faux leather high-waisted straight-leg jeans. The difference in texture lightens the blouse, IMO. The jeans have a sheen while the blouse is matte. And don't be afraid of that open lace detail down the front. It looks fine with a black bra or, if you dare, a red or pink one. (I've even tried gold!) Again, I would size down if you like a closer fit.
I've been watching your video for a while now and enjoyed how you style the same pieces in different ways. I've noticed that you've been gravitating towards more relaxed fit lately, and I find it suits you very well. I think it looks especially good on you if the top has more clear shoulder line or structure, for instance as in the Rebecca cardigan or the Alani dress. They look perfect! Whereas the Oana shirt kind of makes you more mature and a little less edged because of its wider neck line and no shoulder lines. If I were you, I'd have returned that shirt but you said you like it very much and in the end, I guess that's what matters! If you like the piece and enjoy wearing it, then it's a keep :)
Hello Helen I love the patterned Cardigan/ Sweater, it's really beautiful. It might even work in Autumn with some brown trousers. Love your channel. You have given me so many ideas about how to use my clothes in different ways. Thanks for sharing x
I love your Sezane reviews and the effort you put in it! I really appreciate you showing us different outfits for all the pieces. Keep the Lisette cardigan, it looks great! But I might be a bit biased, I ordered it for myself and it will arrive this week haha But I was so excited to see you ordered it as well and reviewed it. And yes, please do more Sezane videos❤
I would love to film more of these as they're some of my fav videos to make, so thank you for the feedback :)) !! Hope you love the Lisette, I'm very tempted and still thinking about it xx
I’m so glad you turn your low-neckline tops around because I also don’t feel comfortable with it. Good to know the Lisette might be scratchy for someone with very sensitive skin. I adore the pattern (& colors) on that sweater. I agree that you’re a soft gamine, but I’d say you’re very close to exactly middle- between flamboyant and soft (just like me!) That’s why you like angular details, the large print of Lisette, even the white sweater w black angled stitch at the end of this video. Just my opinion.
Thanks as always for all the time and effort you put into these videos! I have come to accept that Sezane is just too feminine and embellished for my personal style, despite my respect for the brand. BUT it's still very interesting and helpful to hear you talk through your thought process for how you consider pieces and decide what to keep. Will also note that cotton-merino and cotton-cashmere blends are hands down my favorite knit fabrications. A little cozy and luxe, with the strength and ease of cotton!
Most of Sezane’s items are too frou-frou for me, too, but I do have two of their more classic silk shirts that are nice for my style. I’m not a big fan of florals, lace, embellishments, etc. I’m 63, and don’t want too-girlish styles, I need sophisticated styles at my age or I look very Little House of the Prairie.🙂
I always watch your videos and think this is my favorite then another one comes out and I’m in awe of your style and quality of content all over again. ❤️ great work.
Great review of the Spring collection and so fast on delivery! ☺ Thank you so much for adding the sizing and whether the piece of clothing runs true to size or not. Besides your styling advise, info about sizing is very helpful for the rest us who have no access to brick and mortar Sezane store.
Pretty sure I owned a dress very much like Alana dress back in the 80’s,mine was more of a fit & flare shape but still quite similar. Wore it for ages!
Every Sunday Sezane brings out new pieces to their new collection, and each time I'm surprised and slightly annoyed that their sting collection is full of autumn colours.. Unfortunately I cannot pull them off whatsoever, and the height of my daring antire will be the lovely ophelia dress, I have some hope for it although not much
Thank you for the video--really enjoyed the review. It was really helpful to see the Pierro shirt's color. I was really tempted by it, but now I am not so sure! The Alani dress surprised me: I didn't look at it twice on the website, but I have to say that now I am thinking about picking it up for the summer.
Hi Helen (long time subscriber here but never commented) ! I made my first ever Sezane purchase recently, which surprisingly took me years. I ended up ordering the Michel jumpsuit in two colours (one plain mustard, the other blue and white floral pattern). I was generally impressed by the quality and the thickness and heaviness of the fabrics but was quite surprised by the sizing. I went off of the sizing charts and their recommendation and picked what I thought would be work but it was WAY too roomy! The patterened jumpsuit had a little more stretch and was generally a few cms bigger than the plain mustard, although I got both in the same size, oddly. I reordered both in a size down, ended up only keeping the patterened jumpsuit because the mustard one then just didn't quite have enough give for movement in the smaller size. Shame, but I have had lots and lots of compliments on the one I did keep! I think I will order again in future from Sezane, but will probably always end up buying two sizes and returning one, due to the variation I've already experienced between different fabrics of the same model.
Absolutely! Often even in the same item, I'll notice a difference in size due to fabric. I'm glad you have been loving your new jumpsuit. I just searched it up and looks stunning :)
I bought rebecca cardigan, too. It is softest knitwear which I bought from Sezane. I really love it. I got also betty cardigans with white- black stripes, It is really amazing with golden buttons. 🥰 I want to try also their flats. I am not sure about sizing.
I love the blue and cream floral sweater. Can you do a full review on the handbag and how it compares to other brands like Tory Burch, Coach, J Crew, Banana Republic, or high designer brands?
I don't shop from this brand but I love the materials so I'll have to check them out! A black eyelet blouse is on my shopping list, appreciate your thorough review and info on the brand in general!
Hi Helen, I was wondering what colour season you are. I am an Autumn, and I was wondering what colours in the collection would suit me. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Yayy!! Finally Helen is back with a new video and I love this type of videos so so much you're looking too too pretty in all haul and I wish you reach 70K Subscribers very very soon!😭💫💕
Helen you should always keep us updated about Sezane! One of my my favs! I still have not bouggt anything from them yet. I feel like the oldie goldie 100% wool carsigans I have from &stories are as good quality as Sezane’s however the Betty cardigan has me all the time! I have to remember which size you got in that one 😅 Btw! Where is you brown/tan crossbody from?!?! Longchamp? I bought recently an immaculate shoulder bag second hand from Longchamp with their iconic buckle for leather bag and it pretty much remainds me of that! You are a genious in outfit combinations as always!
Thanks Rebecca! The betty was in the XS and fits true to size :) Oh and the bag is Sezane, it does remind me of that Longchamp one now that you mention it. Might have to check it out in case there's one slightly bigger (which is what I'm looking for).
Your selections from Sezane are lovely. I wonder what size you wear for the white sweater with the large black stitching. If it is a relaxed fit, I may size it down for myself. Thanks for another insightful video.
I've been trying to stay away from the Sézane website but after this I don't think I can hold back anymore😅 At least I can do some window shopping.. The sriped dress is so pretty, Iäm saved by the length (ie won't buy it since I'm too lazy to get it taylored 😂) I have acutally seen the Alicia skirt in the blue floral pattern (same as the dress and shirt you tried on) and must admit that I was drawn to the bright blue right away... Though I don't think I need any more floral midi/maxi skirts 😶🌫
Hiii, thank you very much for making this video, it is very helpful! Could I ask you if you have ever bought skirt from Sezane? If you have, what size do you buy? I think my size is very similar to yours, but I am not sure if I should go for 34 or 36. Thank you :)
Hello. Nice video:) Are thr Sezane loafers comfortable gor prolonged wear? For warmer weather are they breathable in your opinion? Or they cause sweaty feet without socks.
The flat t-strap shoes are from Hereu. It's in a warm reddish brown. So I haven't had the best experience with them, and in my shoe collection video I go into more detail if you're interested in hearing :) xx
Hey Christine :) The wash of my ribcage jean is Bernal Middle Road - Medium Wash. In Australia I only saw the 29 inch inseam, so then I shortened it myself. I would say a 27 would have been perfect on my height (5'3).
Thank you so much for this video! I do have a question about the Vicky loafers. I bought the brown (sized down to 37, I'm usually a 38) and they're not tight, but definitely snug, if that makes sense. The leather is so soft that I'm thinking they may stretch to be just right, but because I make so many sizing mistakes with shoes, I'm not sure. I bought the Albane loafers in 38 and they're way too big. Did you find your Vicky loafers stretched out a bit?
I’m both short in height and quite short-waisted, so many of Sezane’s items are just too low-cut for me (as are some other brands, especially H&M). Since I developed a larger bust, I have had a lifelong rule of “no visible cleavage”, I don’t want to draw more attention to it. I might show just the merest hint of the top of that shadow there, for a husband date or in cocktail dress, but no more than that. It’s tough, because I don’t like high necks, either, just a crew, or a modest V, scoop, or square neckline. I know that Sezane dress would be too low cut on me, I would have to get a larger size, 10, which would be even lower in front. Many Sezane tops and dresses can be too sexy for my preference, they love those really deep necklines.
I love the look of Sezanne stuff, but with its cut and buttons, I always feel that I will be too busty for it. Can anyone comment who has this issue with clothes?
Hi Helen, when you return Sezane items from Australia, does the return label that they email to you has barcode on it? I placed my first sezane order after following your videos, but need to return some items. But oddly there's no barcode on the return labels to NSW... I don't think aus post can process labels without barcode?
Hey Anzhen :) I normally download and it's fine. However, once I ran into this problem. I emailed Sezane and they sent me a label with the correct barcode. So reach out to the team and they can definitely fix xx
I really don't think any of these outfits are you, they are too grannyish and those trousers ( especially the off white drawstring ) some how manage to make your slim figure look thick round the middle.
I don’t like that Oana shirt, those warm autumnal colors are wrong for you and it looks too grannyish. I wish you would get your personal color analysis redone, you were wrongly typed. I would recommend Color Me Beautiful, who did a great job on my analysis 40 years ago and are the original, and still the best, color analysts. You are definitely a cool-undertone type, I would say Cool, Soft and Medium Contrast, either a Dark or True Summer (my preference for you) or perhaps a Light Winter. I’m not trained, but I’m pretty accurate at spotting my own type, Summer. I won’t comment on the Kibbe type, I don’t believe that “system” has any validity at all. When you wear a flattering color like light blue, it makes your beautiful skin glow like a pearl and lights up your whole face. I don’t think you should ever wear warm reds, yellows, yellowish-beiges, oranges or yellow-greens. I hope you wear daily high-SPF sunscreen to protect your lovely skin, don’t forget your neck and upper chest, too, and arms/hands to keep them white and unfreckled. At age 63, other women my age who didn’t do this have leathery, brown and red mottled, wrinkled skin, they look 20 years older than I do. Most people guess my age is around 50, I credit a lifetime of sunscreen use for this. Plus, it prevents skin cancer, a big problem in there in Australia and here in California.
Soft natural? If you are shorter you could possibly be soft gamine or theatrical romantic( looking at your clothes I think it is obvious you wear a lot of gamine lines). I am a petite gamine myself so I see gamine lines from far away :D There is no way you are soft natural :DDDDD since you do need that high waist emphasis every time and high neck flatters you more
This is super interesting! :) I'm fairly confident I'm not Soft Gamine as not many of the qualities resonates with me. I'll need to look into theatrical romantic. But actually a lot of Soft Natural qualities did resonate with me but I think there's also sometimes other things that influence what looks good. E.g. I do like low necklines but because I am smaller on the chest, it doesn't always work etc etc. Thanks for letting me know, now I super curious to look into :) xx
