Ed is a difficult character and Bison is pretty new. There’s bound to be mistakes from both sides when neither side knows one of the characters all that well.

I’m pretty sure DI gives moves extra stun. This is why DI overhead is so prominent, it makes the overhead actually combo into other moves. I haven’t played in a while but I think that’s why.

DR’s additional blockstun means that you effectively have 4-way mix on every character once you get oki - overhead, mid, low, and throw. This, mixed with meaties, means anyone not waking up with a hard reversal or super is going to be forced to give you another turn.

​​​@@dashieldmasta177 There is no "middle" attack in SF... There are only 2... High and Low... And Overhead is a High attack from the ground... I think Drive Rush let the attacker get closer as posible to do one of the 4 possible moves... Low, High (normal or instant overhead), throw and lastly shimmy/move backward/defend... Because if you just walk or try to dash forward, there is a chance that you don't get as close a possible or the dash fails... And more importantly, if you connect an attack doing Drive Rush as OKI/meaty, you get frame advantage (more plus frames to you) meaning that you can do extended combos that are not possible without using Drive Rush

To keep the pressure obviously. You can't just let them chill after they made a mistake.

Oki + pressure benefit is why they do it 👍🏼

I’m not gonna try be a Stan for anyone coz I’m just here to enjoy matches…but as someone who’s in diamond…a platinum player could never. Ed playing mind games cancelling his drive rush to flicker, not even thought about that tech and how well that would work. I mean why are these matches being see as so bad? You’re not gonna get perfection every time but these were good matches that deffo had things ppl could learn from/use to improve

God forbid a top player not be try hard during casual games with a buddy. Tournament EW is different trust. Lvl 2 consistently is crazy for how new it is and how spacing/manual timing dependent it is. I’m sure they weren’t expecting these games would get uploaded.

@@gavinpowell4607 buddy got 3rd at evo, you will never be 1/4 as good as EW. Sometimes to get better you have to enjoy what you’re doing, and being experimental with your play style trying new things or trying to approach a MU differently is all part of the process of becoming a more well rounded player. It’s all part of the same process.
