I strongly disagree with this. He does well against Ryu and Cammy but Chun is a nightmare for Jamie and Dhalsim is even. It's easy for Dhalsim to keep Jamie in check but if Jamie get's in then it becomes hard for the Sim

@@YourEverydaySheep if you watch Chun here, Daigo understood that Chun’s projectile doesn’t reach full screen so it allows him to get a free drink or bait that he’s going to drink & counter . I’m not saying Chun is free but there’s some cracks where it allows him to access his tools . Sim can get baited easily . If you bait the anti air, you can palm . If you bait the grounded approach, you can dive kick . Dhalsim has to make heavy reads if the Jamie knows what to look for

@@problemsnearyou8899 Any good Chun will never use full screen fireball against Jamie unless it's the OD version and she completely out pokes Jamie. For the Jamie to get in on a Dhalsim they also have to make very good reads. A decent Sim is just going to play patiently and react to whatever Jamie does. He doesn't need to play proactively because Jamie is not a threat at full screen or even just past mid range against a Sim. Jamie's best tool against Sim is definitely his dive kick but that doesn't mean the matchup is in his favour. It's pretty even. This is just my opinion as someone who has gotten Jamie to at least 1850 MR. I'm not amazing but I do know Jamie very well. The only matchup for Jamie that I'd say is straight up terrible for him is Guile. There aren't many Jamie players at the highest level of play and a lot of what I see in this video is people not knowing the matchup and I've heard pros complain about being unfamiliar with him because hardly anyone plays him.

I just think that Dhalsim being patient doesn’t help if Jamie walks him down . It feels like Jamie dictates the pace I can see why Chun outpoking him makes it in her favor but if he plays outside of her poke range, he can whiff punish & beat kikoken with BD kicks . Instead of even, it sounds more like a -1 . She dictates the pace but I think he can counter her

@@problemsnearyou8899 Jamie has to walk Dhalsim down but Dhalsim easily keeps him in check with fireballs and his great buttons. Once Jamie gets in then he has advantage. That's why I say it's even. Being able to whiff punish doesn't negate Chun's advantage in the matchup. She simply out does Jamie in neutral. Jamie's bakkai is not a good anti fireball tool which is something that many pros have complained about. It's far too slow to be used reactively against most fireballs. These matchups aren't heavily one sided at all but one of Jamie's biggest flaws is his lack of tools at round start. Just trying to get started with Jamie makes his life a lot harder in these matchups. If you play well and get some early drinks then the matchups become a lot easier.

1:38 yeah this moment is evidence of this. IMO he should've just gone for the damage, since it's off a raw level 3.

​@LakeEarth He also always goes for level 1 target combo after hitting DR 5HP regardless of counter state. To be optimal, 2mp for counter and 2hp for punish counter will net him more damage.

​@LakeEarth 1:38 was the correct choice but he messed up the timing. It would have burned out his opponent and would have kept DJ in the corner.

When i caught his streams i remember him saying he couldn't really get started without drinking 2 times. And that he's settled for Ken being his main. He just want to explore characters he wanted to play and give them his proper evaluation before "quitting" and going back to Ken.

Absolutely, just short bursts of interactions when Jamie got all these long fancy strings he could be using, he could do so much more dmg

@@possibly8180 they feel like it, but he has so many different routes that you got like 3-4 different options out of a couple of his hits
