In this video I go over the combos you NEED to learn to play Marisa. Jump In Combo 0:32 DI Combo 1:28 Light Combo 2:21 Medium Combo 2:49 Buffer Combo 4:20 Whiff Punish 5:10 DP Punish 5:29 DI Wall Splat 6:09
Great video as always. I think your point about the visual cue for when to start charging back heavy punch for DI punishes is really helpful … I’m kinda embarrassed how long it took me to figure that piece out.
Awesome! As a individual who this is his first competitive fighting game, let alone his first competitive SF game who’s looking to pick up Marisa this should really help me out alongside you’re other Marisa guides as well.
I'm halfway through Diamond 4 in huge part thanks to your videos, hoping to push through to Master before Ed drops. Thanks so much for all the great content man!
Makes me happy to hear! When I started out I had to piece so much together myself, so now I’m trying to create resources that answer questions people actually have.
I hit Diamond IV with 60% winrate by following your tips alone (especially the oki guide I trained that for hours). Thank you sir for showing us the way of the fist & wish you all the best
Appreciate all you do for this content on Marisa. It's some great info. Random idea to throw out there. You do analysis of other players matches, but it could be interesting to see you give some analysis into some of your own matches, pointing out things you were doing and thinking. Maybe even some of your own mistakes and ways to avoid them.
Marisa mains definitely need to learn MK punish counter into quadriga or DR b.HPxxsuperman punch. It beats people fishing for cr.MK into drive rush when spaced.
It’s definitely something I should look at more. I have one video where I analyze a player who uses modern, and in that video I do only look at modern specific tools. It’s something on the menu, for sure.
Any time you do dr back hp in combo if you delay the special cancel slightly they fall low enough so hk stepkick doesn’t go under them, just adds a bit more damage than mk
I have no idea how to follow this.. coming from Tekken to Street Fighter I'm a complete cakenoob I'm used to seeing combos shown on screen but I have to rely on moves alone. No doubt this'll be fun
Sometimes you just have to slow it down to figure out the timing. And remember the rule with links, if it doesn’t come out you were too early, if it’s blocked you were too late.
