I Disagree. Eventho The XX Program Is Most Track Only Cars It Nice To This Program Is Expanding In To The Road Cars. Ain’t No Telling What Data They Can Gather From This Car Since It’s Going To Be Driven More Then Most Of There Track Cars
SF90 XX is basically like how the 360 and 430 had the Stradale/Scuderia. Like how Richard said Ferrari doesn't go all the way with engineering a car, just so they can sell a more expensive car with just a bit more power.
Not sure why, but the 599 (and all its evolutions -- F12, 812 and so on) make me drool. Of course the 599XX (especially the second version) is absolutely jaw dropping.
I wish TopGear could have delved a bit deeper into how the program works. How many events per year, can you go to Ferrari hq and 'check out' your car around fiorano whenver you want? can you send your car to any track you want? Do you actually own the car, or is it a complicated lease situation? What does buying actually mean? Even just how much it is. Does ferrari cover travel and accommodation expenses? What does the engineering support mean? What happens if you crash the car? Do they host spec races at the events? This video left me with more questions than answers lol and I think you guys should make a follow up, maybe the Ferrari racing days event at Laguna Seca 15-19 of May to show us more
You can keep those Ferraris at your home. Over the years you saw collectors having them stand in their garage. I doubt every owner does it, but if you want...
Hey! I have a bit of an insight about these things so I'll answer the questions. 1. There's about 10-12 events at different tracks around the world for XX cars. 2. Yes, you can checkout your car at fiorano and even drive on the track given you have an appointment. 3. Yes, you can send your car to any track you want but you will have to pay Ferrari for the shipping charges and race engineering crew charges. 4. Yes. You legally own the car and it is in your name. It is just stored by Ferrari at maranello so that it can be properly maintained and taken care of by the experts there. They ship it all around the world for you to drive at the events. You can also store the car with yourself if you wish to! 5. You pay Ferrari for any of the events that you want to attend with the car (usually around $50-$70k per weekend). This includes the charges for shipping the car, accomodation, food , trackday, driver training and maintanence crew. Travel cost is on your own. 6. They cost around $6M in the US nowadays. 7. These racecars need to be properly maintained and run to make sure they work properly. Unlike a normal road car you can't just turn on the car and start driving. There needs to be lots of preparation in terms of oils, fuels, tires, engine, software, etc. So there are Ferrari engineers at the track to take care of the cars while they run and fix them if anything goes wrong. There are many mechanics and technicians just like in F1 to make sure the cars run smoothly. 8. The trackdays are more for experiencing the cars freely on a track rather than racing. Racing on the track during XX days is not encouraged but a few owners still love doing it😜. Let me know if you have any more question!
The full name of the SF90 XX is SF90 XX Stradale (meaning "Road" in Italian). That Stradale moniker is very important part of that name because it clearly indicates that it was never supposed to be a genuine XX programme car but a road legal version of the Ferrari XX cars. All the engineering experience gained from the XX programme has been carried over into the SF90 XX Stradale. That's the whole point of this car. You people are just confusing yourself by overthinking and not understanding Ferrari's true intention with this car.
The FXX, 599XX, FXX-K Programmes are the very same reason why I fell in love with Ferrari. So Much passion and rich history in racing. It is in their blood.
The FXX and subsequently the evolutione version with 860 bhp from that insane 6.3 v12 will always be my favorite XX car... Forza Horizon 1 as well as Motorsport 3 and 4, what a cool video and an amazing collection of prancing horses
I've been head over heels in love with the F50 since I first laid eyes on it at 10 years old. It's the most beautiful car ever made. The way the body flows into the rear wing is the pinnacle of car design.
@@1nmasuku with the technology available nowadays, it shouldn't be a difficult task to put up a hybrid v8 with the xx near perfection tune and some crazy aero. That would be a better successor to 599xx/evo. But if they continue with a v12 hybrid that would be even better
A lot of people seem to dislike the aesthetics of high down force track cars. I find it absolutely gorgeous as long as the front splitter isn't a table top lol. I'm the guy that thinks the Senna is much prettier than the P1 and especially the Speedtail.
I was lucky enough to be in that room last week. It’s mind blowing. Shame they didn’t go upstairs as it’s full of F1 cars. It’s Ferraris newest building on the campus. We were very lucky to be invited for a factory tour. It’s also worth visiting the two Ferrari museums.
@@AB-80X They are the one's who started the propaganda that the xx program cars can't be kept at the owner's garage, so that's where their credibility lies!
599XX Evoluzione my favourite XX program car. Seen FXX, 599XX and FXX-K at Imola in 2018 and all of them are truly special Ferraris. Sono tifosi sempre! 🇮🇹
The FXX-K has the numbers, the looks, and the legacy (based on the LaFerrari from the Holly Trinity) to be my favorite XX, and as for now, the last true XX
@@AtheistOrphan I’ve owned only one Ferrari but there is a difference between the criteria that they claim they are using and the actual criteria. It’s a major point of contention in the industry.
I'd pick the very limited road car based F50 GT1 with a real Formula 1 engine over any other XX car in that line-up. Just fortunate enough to witnessed one in action.., the looks, the sound, oh btw, im in Japan.
599XX EVO for me. In fact, my favourite Ferrari has been always the 599 GTO. Peak Ferrari in my opinion. And yes, I also think the SF90 XX does not belong to this legacy of cars, amazing car but not a prototype like other XX from the Ferrari program.
The script is not entirely right. The FXXK's in the showroom aren't 'regular' FXXK's but rather their 'Evo' evolutions. The car driven by Chris, is the regular FXXK. Easy to see with the difference in the spoiler.
I'm on the side that loves the original FXX without the wing mirrors and had either the small rear facing cameras or no wing mirrors at all. The overall profile of that car is absolutely fantastic.
The Ferrari FXXK "Blue Angel" (Blue body, Yellow accent) spec is my all time favorite looking car since first seeing it. The silver and black spec looks amazing as well, but the Blue Angel spec just fits the car in every way. The design of the FXXK is just so .... perfect. It's aggressive looking but also smooth and stylish. Every angle of the car is just looking at a beautifully crafted work of art. It looks as if it could actually fly. The spoiler fins are unique an honestly only work on this car and make it appear even more jet fighter like.
@@mortenhansen3455 in reality, the F50 GT is louder than the FXX. I've heard both in person. It is also a lot faster than the FXX, but this is another topic. Both cars are just stunning, so I can't blame your choice. 👍
Amazing cars, amazing engineering marvels, sad that none of these cars will ever be used to their potential and will spend most of the time in a showroom...
3:20 “Just look at the aero across the back…”. OK??? I see a lot of white walls and a small part of an Enzo in the bottom left corner. Did the videographer not have a wide angle lens? The footage is horrible. You can barely see the cars.
That SF-90XX is supposedly 1590 kg (3505 lbs) so proper chunky but that doesn't take anything away from the fantastic machines that have led up to 2024.
