The thing about, "You can't make your first film twice." Is interesting because I've seen Edgar Wright say in other interviews that he doesn't think A Fist Full of Fingers is very good.
Imagine the resulting disaster if he'd allowed them recast Jon Heder in "Napoleon Dynamite." Everything in film production is death by a thousand compromises. It's a constant fight to do what you know will make the project good, against people with more power who want to change aspects of your project for no reason at all. It's madness.
