I started this animation back near the start of 2017 and got around half way done before I stopped around May of that year (due to starting on other projects). The other half of this was done within the last 3 months. Nevertheless I'm glad to say this is finally finished.
I don't know exactly how long I spent animating this (I forgot to keep track when I started it) so I'm estimating anywhere between 500-600 hours.

Fun fact: The bass amplifier at the end that Twilight accidentally drops is based on a real bass amp by Ampeg, the Ampeg SVT. The amp is known for its tone and its weight, clocking in at over 80lb. This is where the joke comes from: _What do you throw a drowning bass player?_ _His bass amp._

ImAFutureGuitarHero's SFM Channel As a bass/base player myself, this made me giggle very hard. XD And really good video, you know when someone puts a ton into it when they get the chords on the animation almost perfect. Also, that Twilight model is adorable, they should had those details to the actual character. I just wanted to reach through the screen and hug her. XD I miss good TF2 styles, it's getting harder to find them.

THIS IS JUST SO FREAKING AWESOME AAAAAAAA~~ To be serious, I rarely see something that greatly animated guitar/bass/drums moves. Even though I'm not a fan of Rick's basses, but, gosh, this SFM PMV is divine!! This is just a pleasure for me as a musician Oo Just sick, just sick, I'm speechless..!

Thanks man! TBH I like the look of Rick basses, but I am well aware of just how much of a maintenance nightmare they can be. Also the reason I use the Rick bass in all of my SFM music videos is simply because of how high quality the model is, it's crazy, the level of detail in the model and the textures.

Hot damn this is stellar work. LOVE the detail you put into each instrument, the drums and especially the guitars. I don't play the guitar, but I won't be surprised if you told me those are the actual chords and fingering. Also, their faces are so expressive, especially Twi's. This is probably one of the best SFM music videos I've ever seen.

PSFMer Those are actual chords, seeing I'm a guitar player with 15 years of experience, and I really give kudos to this animator for making it look realistic. From what I was able to spot, the main chords being animated on the acoustic guitar were C, D, E, and possibly F.

You're basically almost correct. Those are the chords, though there is no F. The chords in the verses are E / C / E / C / E / C / D / D, and the choruses have the same chords, in in a different order (C / E / D x4).

@@Sparrow9642 I actually broke a guitar when I played it and how it broke is that the strings somehow got on fire and the strings broke... I was aggressively playing a guitar although I am a retired Captain of the US Marine Corps.... yep. I was that 1 retired Marine who broke a guitar while playing it in an aggressively raging way.... Edit: the guitar was actually my friend's older brother's guitar but her brother is dead because of the Republicans attacking her family and killing her family but she was the only 1 to survive.... she only had older siblings, no young ones...

You did an UNBELIEVABLE job in EVERY detail!!!!! The animation of the the instrument playing, the INCREDIBLY lively and expressive faces, and the PERFECT quality and use of the camera in angles, pans, follow shots, and focus blurs!!! First off, wow that's a hell of a crossover. But aside from the animation quality, what I think really knocked my socks across the room was the dedication to musical accuracy on the instruments. Like you really didn't need to go that distance, but that you did is friggin awesome!

So like, I've already watched this a number of times but I just have to say that no matter how many times I watch this, it always gives me shivers. This is such an amazing piece of art. The storytelling, animations, camera angles just everything about it. It's such an amazing video and I'm still glad that I can watch it whenever I need a bit of inspiration.

This has some good animation, well timed and realistic for the drumset and instruments/lip sync, feet slide a bit on the ground (needs a bit more weight) but otherwise lovely. Something that stood out was Twilight's freckles, they were cute but stretched weirdly at times, especially at 4:11 .

Holy shit, this is incredible o.o My only criticisms are that Twilight's expressions in the second chorus could have been more intense, and her hair kinda looks like she's starting into a box fan a lot of the time lol.
