Thanks. Nice to see some of Stephanie and the first Lloyd, who is pretty good (I think his name was Peter Haskell). And the scenes with Vargas and Jo are gripping. And that scream from Susan Scannell - she could have been a horror movie queen.
@Draper Scott Look at the characters and the dialogue that doesn’t seem to go anywhere. And P&G seem like they really gave up on both SFT and EON and kept their attention on GL, ATWT and even AW in the later 1980’s.
@Draper Scott See that’s the thing, Love of Life wasn’t a P&G soap. Their biggest issue was timeslot issues. A soap at 4:00 pm was a knock on death’s door. And the only show to this day to spend longevity at 4:00 is EON on ABC which never recovered from its time change in 1972, from 3:30 to 2:30 pm when it was still on CBS. But if you look at GL, which was a P&G soap which I think was just all over bad in production value in its last several years you saw how it mess up the storylines. I mean most episodes just had people wondering around town with nothing to do and you heard annoying rock music in the background.
@Draper Scott In the NYC market it came on at 10:00 am. I think it started coming on at that ridiculous time for a soap in the mid 90’s when CBS canceled Family Feud. I remember it coming on at 3:00 pm after ATWT.
@Draper Scott Same for me NYC market, Oprah Winfrey Show came on at 4 pm but it was in first run syndication, but was an ABC affiliate. Edge of Night was an ABC network show aka O&O. CBS turned away the 4:00 pm slot in 1986 when they canceled Press Your Luck NBC, in 1977 when they canceled “Somerset” however “The Gong Show” briefly ran at 4 pm ABC, 1984 when they canceled “The Edge of Night.”
