Yes, you have to allow port 22 which is the SSH port used by SFTP. The good thing about SFTP is that it runs on 1 port, whereas FTP needs to run on 2 ports, port 23 the port for the commands and negotiating the data port which is usually some random port 4900+. Yes, I run this in a company hosted on Rackspace which allows for the SFTP open on port 22.

I believe you have created a serious security issue. Just because you Deny directory listings doesn't mean a user can't read and modify that directory, no? I don't believe you have actually protected the root/home folders. ???
Yes. Just deny read & execute also on the root and home directory. And disinherit the parent folder for the user's home folder and add the proper permissions for that individual user account.
CodeCowboyOrg Why not deny Full Control? Without giving this extended study, I believe deny Read would still leave open write/create. And deny Modify still leaves open delete subfolders/files and change permissions! I'd really want to study and test any solution thoroughly.
