Is Sgt Slaughter underrated as a WWE Legend or is he properly regarded? Let us know in the comments below!

I think he's properly regarded, but the problem is too many people forgot what he did before he came to WWE. He made a lot of waves in the AWA beforehand. And for him to sacrifice his marriage and his safety to go into that Iraqi gimmick...I mean, that says it all right there.

people forget sgt left wwf just as the wwf was exploding in popularity and hes still remembered by lots of people. his feud with the iron sheik in spring - summer of 1984 huge .

Honestly, I feel like Slaughter is pretty overrated for his WWF run. He was a perfect caricature for cartoons and action figures, but it's not like he had a sustained run in the WWF as a wrestler. He was only the top guy in the AWA after they had bled all their best talent. He was a legend in his own head. If Austin wants to chip him for not selling, fine. Austin was THE star in wrestling. If you want underrated, look to Gorilla Monsoon. One of Vince Sr's top wrestlers for better than 18 years, after retirement he seamlessly moved behind the mic and became the voice of wrestling for a generation of fans. There is an underrated talent.

That was one thing I didn’t know about Stone Cold, how he would get nervous and had to be settled down.

I was a great fan of Hulk Hogan, but Sgt. Slaughter during his run was epic. A True GI-JOE fit in. The turn on America was truly bold.👍👍👍😁

Slaughter talking absolute bollocks 😂 It would be Austin putting him in the hospital.

Austin didn't have that reputation he was tough but never heard he was a fighter. That was Haku, Ron Simmons, Harley Race Scott Steiner ECT.

Austin would be a lot tougher than Slaughter, that's for sure. Not those guys you mentioned though, admittedly.

I 99.9% sure the storie there talking was Sunday Night Heat June 6th 1999. Austin Stuns him twice and they were horrible. Get your dates and shows correct would ya. Took me 20 minutes to pin point the moment
