Hi Ally. Yeah it was a great day, long walk in from the dam, but worth the effort on a day like that. Great weather this week too, today was the first time this year I've needed sun cream. ATB.

Hi Andy, Well done as this is a bloody awkward top to get at. We'll be on the same route soon as both munros are scheduled for a visit. The conditions and views were stunning and the all the tops on show. A long walk but worth the effort. Cheers, Charlie

Aye, it was quite a long one. Thanks for your videos, they gave me the idea to do it from the north, and avoid the long drive round to Glen Dessary. Quite a nice walk once I cleared the forest part, and the views over The Rough Bounds were fantastic. Cheers.

Nice one Andy, got a cracking day for it☀️🏔👍 I was up doing the 2 at Corrour the same day. You captured some stunning scenery there Andy. Lovely edit.👍 I’ve still to do all the Glen Dessary ones so not too sure about the approach to Sgurr Mor. Thinkin a kayak over loch Quoich would be the best choice.🤣🤣 ATB Frank.👍🏔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Frank. The views from Sgurr Mor over The Rough Bounds are fantastic, very rugged. Yeah, a kayak would be a great way to do it, right to the foot of the hill. Cheers.

Amazing Adventure Andy. Been reading your other comments for times and stuff. Looks like a route I might try although Andy O mentions bikes and stuff! , Paul
@andy-astro
@andy-astro Год назад
Hi Paul. Yeah this route is about 30km and 10 hours. A bit shorter distance if you go over Gairich on the way back to the Loch Quoich dam. Easiest option is to do them in separate outings, Sgurr Mor and Sgurr an Fhuarain from the south as per walkhighlands route, and Gairich from the Loch Quoich dam. I chose this route from the dam to avoid the long drive round to Glen Dessary, and saw it was an option from Charlies videos. Cheers.

You’ve hit the jackpot again Andy. At the start of your video I thought you might go up and over Gairich to get to Sgurr Mor but a sensible choice to bypass it. More lovely memories for me ! Strange that, wherever you climb in the north west, the two mountains you so often see are the Ben and Sgurr na Ciche !
@andy-astro
@andy-astro Год назад
Hi Michal. Thankfully I had already done Gairich last year, so the easier option of bypassing it both ways was preferable. Sgurr na Ciche certainly sticks out from the crowd. Hopefully going down to get that group this summer. Cheers.

Lovely video Andy. Remember (many years ago now) saying to my wife "Don't step off the stalkers path even if it's wet." A while later I heard a shriek. She'd stepped off the path to avoid a puddle and gone up to her thigh in the peat mud!

Hi Bob, thanks for watching. I've had a few frights in the past too where the ground was softer than expected, can be quite funny afterwards. Cheers.

Well don’t be brilliant day and video long walk thou I stayed night at Kinbreck Bothy when I did these two mountains the pass to get to the bothy was harder to get up and over tusn the mountain walk the next day lol anyway cheers Andy I always enjoy seeing your videos mate Diolch (thanks)
@andy-astro
@andy-astro Год назад
Thanks Andrew. I didn't realise there was a bothy there, had to just zoom into one of my photos to find it. I considered coming in from Loch Archaig, but the extra long drive round from the north, and the Loch Archaig road wasn't too appealing. A long walk in and out from the Loch Quoich side, but quite enjoyable once I cleared the forest. Fantastic views from Sgurr mor over the rough bounds, and the weather was a bonus. Cheers.

@PAADVENTURES1

Hi Andrew, I havent done these two yet! What would you recommend as the best route?..
@andrewkingdom
@andrewkingdom Год назад
@@PAADVENTURES1 hi Paul easiest route is from Glen Dessarry parking at head of Loch Arkaig a footpath north from the lodge go over the mountain pass Feith a Chicheanais down into Glen Kingie cross the river (isn’t that bad) you can then head straight up onto the col between Sgurr Mor and Sgurr an Fhuarain and bag the both. A slightly longer route but makes a more circular walk (and if river in spate) is to climb the stalkers path on the north side of the river which zigzags up to Sgurr Beag then over to Sgurr Mor it’s about 22km but amazing views into Knoydart but I have also used the fantastic Kinbreck bothy as a base to climb these mountains and Gairich hope the above makes sense

Excellent watch Andy.I have been planning for a while to do these 2 from this side.That Loch Arkaig road gave me the fear and don't want to drive it again to get them from Glen Dessary side..😱🤣How long did it take you from the dam?Also looking at taking a bike through the forrestry tracks starting from a bridge at the head of Loch Poulary.😃👍
@andy-astro
@andy-astro Год назад
Hi Andy. It took me about 10 hours, and was about 30 km there and back from the dam, though if you go over Gairich on the way back it'll knock off a few km. I had already done Gairich, so opted for the easier but longer walk back along the track. I'm not sure how good the track is from Loch Poulary, but it looked pretty good condition when I crossed over it in the forest. The track I was on wasn't the best though, very muddy and rough for the most part, with lots of ups and downs. Cheers.

@PA ADVENTURES Will do Paul.It's a new one for me and last in the area to do so it will be filmed.Getting the car parked safely off the road before biking in will not be easy as it's single track.😃👍
