Outstanding demo - great examples of how to use the SH-2’s capabilities. The LFO to envelope trigger was very cool; I don’t have an SH-2 so never realized you could do that. Thank you!
Another great demo with real playing! Roland fanboi types are all nuts for the SH-101 and SH-9 but have nothing nice to say about the SH-2. Just don't get it because those 2 are like the diet coke of synths. The SH-2 is the real deal! With foundation shaking bass and meaty VCOs it's a little Tasmanian Devil of a synth. I love CVing it up to my Two Voice Pro and and making Titanic combo patches of ultimate doom. The synth equivalent of monster trucking I guess ;)
I liked that, very good mate :-) I have a Roland SH 01 but I don't really like it very much because in my mind it sounds cheap and tacky :-( I do like the SH 201 though and the sound of your SH 2 also sounds good but the SH 2 is a bit pricy, I also have a Korg Wavestation and a Yamaha CS1x and a few other smaller bits and pieces as well but my SH 01 doesn't really fit in there so maybe I should get rid of it and buy something meaty like your SH 02 :-) I have liked and subscribed too :-) . Glen :-)
Hi Glen! If you sell your that should cover the price of a SH-201 I think(?) i'm thinking maby you should have a look at something like a Nordlead 2? And thank you for your kind words!
For me, since this has 2 oscillators it's better at doing different sounds, is more beefy and has more keys than the SH-101. The only + for the SH-101 would be the sequencer as I see it and I wouldn't use it any way. So for me there's no question about it. Hope this answers your question.
Hammer 🔨. Ich liebe meinen sh-2 . Das ist ein Synthesizer, den ich NIEMALS wieder weggebe. Er ist so unglaublich Fett durch den 2 Oszi und den Sub. 🔨🔨🔨
I have just recently seen your video and it influenced my decision to buy one of these lovely synths. thanks for showing this on youtube for all to see.
@@No_Nag some 9 months and a rebuild later. I can now say that this is the synth I get the most beautiful, dreamy sounds with. thanks again for sharing!
@@clegrand72 I'm greatfull that I could be at assistance. It is a great synth with, as you say a lovely, dreamy sound. It's hard to go wrong with this one. Thank you!
Looking for my first keyboard synth to learn synthesis on. Rather not have it to complicated to start with... Would the sh2 be a good option for a beginner synth? As for sound, this for me is bang-on! Love it. Cheers :)
Hi! It's vintage and rather expensive for what you get.. A system 1 or a korg minilouge would be a much better option. Even a mini/Micro brute would be a better option. Cheaper and better conectivity.
Something is alive in these things. A breath. A temperamental mood depending on its temperature. It was a pleasure to have owned one of these many moons ago and I must say. To the moon and back. Amazed I was in listening to the endless sounds of the underground. Mr. you treat her well amigo. Your sounds and tweaks are hella fresh. Sending a hifive from SoCalifas
Bravo!!!!! Bravo Sir!!! One of the best I have seen yet. Please do more. You have earned a follow from me. I will be on the look out. Thank you very much for that! Encore!!!
Wow. Thank you! I do have plans for more. But there's a lot going on in real life right now so that's why new videos are taking a long time. But new studio is up and runing finally and starting to relearn new video editing software. Once again, thank you for your praise!
Great vid! Do you know by any chance if there are any synths that are MIDI equipped that can come close to the SH-2's sound? I feel like the sine wave sub bass is a big part of it, and I don't know many synths that have that off the top of my head. Would you say the filter is similar to the filter on other roland synths like the SH-01A or Juno 106?
@@No_Nag floke arp maybe:D any tips on how i could create that sound? i got the roland as a vst and thought this was a preset on there but i couldnt find it
@@10711851 the initial sound is just a sine wave with some resonance and the one I'm dialing in after is a PWM patch a snappy filter envelope. The efx comes from the H9 and is just a delay 🙂
@@No_Nag have a Q if i may, i'm designing my own synth right now, one of the features i wanted so much is the auto-band, when testing this feature with inverted ENV i got the same results, so my guess would be the auto-band is an invert AR with 'stuck' values, isn't it?
