Just wanted to add that the atomic breath effect part that cooncided with the Burning Godzilla figure was actually packaged with the Heisei S.H. Monsterarts Fire Rodan figure. As long as you can track down that figure, you get a really nice spiral atomic breath part.
I still remember watching his Godzillathon on Godzilla VS Gigan before I even watched the Angry Video Game Nerd, I just thought that when he says "if you're a nerd like me" and flashed a picture of the nerd, it was a joke, and then when I watch one of his actual reviews years later I was like "oh wait, it's the same dude". Also I was heartbroken that he said that the worst godzilla movie was bad because it had my favourite monster in it.
@@AwesomeMooseSmile I went through the exact same thing lol. I later watched AVGN and saw that scene and pulled a "DiCaprio pointing" moment. And are you talking about Godzilla's Revenge for worst G movie?
@@cybergeek8410 no Godzilla vs Gigan. Godzilla's Revenge is pretty bad too, but at least that knows what it is as a stupid kids film and has an okay moral. Then again, the former does have Godzilla bleed profusely, so I don't know about that
@@AwesomeMooseSmile Godzilla vs Gigan isn't a "good" movie, but it's one of my favorites of the Showa era just because seeing Godzilla and Anguirus be buddies and fight together is awesome.

It's still so weird to me how SH Monsterarts has so many problems, but Sh Figuarts (Especially when it comes to Dragon Ball and Kamen Rider Figures) is so good and works most of the time. You can really tell which things Bandai likes more.
Sadly, I think it’s mostly just the Godzilla stuff from SH monsterarts that’s not the best in quality. They’re Alien, Predator, Gamera, Monster Hunter, Yu-Gi-Oh!, & Ultra Kaiju (and yes I know that’s technically Figuarts not Monsterarts as well but it’s basically the same thing) are all top notch. It is a shame how the flagship franchise for the Monsterarts line, Godzilla, is easily the weakest.
@@nomadproductions4051it’s cause they know us g fan sluts will down anything that has a remotely detailed sculpt of a currently circulating monster in the fanbase no matter how many plasma transfusions it takes to pay for it
I'm literally new to Godzilla stuff, but I recently just watched Godzilla vs Destoroyah and Godzilla Final Wars, they were great.. And now dear Jobby is reviewing these two, man what a great week this is
As much as I LOVE the original design of the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Megazord, cuz I grew up in 90s. That new Flame Toys design is just SUPERIOR! The buying factor, the playable factor, the shelves factor are just 11/10 🔥 It's like the Hi Resolution Gundam figure in Gu-gu-gu-gu-gunpla
Pretty comedic timing with this review, seeing as how I snagged that specific Destoroyah recently as well (for a steep $450 unfortunately). I haven't messed with the wing membrane articulation that much, but I don't believe it was that fragile when I got him out of the box? So maybe it was a defect with your specific copy. Will say though the solidness/joint tolerance does seem consistent between figures though. Great review, and congratulations for finally being a Godzilla fan that's WATCHED the movies LMFAOOOO
@@ahwful4600 Got him from ZenMarket (Japanese proxy site) via the Mercari market! He was the only Destoroyah I saw available, so I feel very lucky I saw him while I did and nabbed him before anyone else saw (or cared LMFAO)
@@therealrobplays I feel you dawg. I personally found the deal via the ZenMarket (Japanese proxy site) Mercari tab. You gotta keep an eagle eye out for deals like that to pop out though.
You can fix the wing, but it won't be fun. Get a pin vise (tiny hand drill), pliers, sandpaper, some cyanoacrylate glue, and some small surgical titanium screws. I just get dental implant screws and clip the head off. Glue activator is optional but it makes life better. Then drill both parts, get some pliers and screw the screw end into one of them, rough up the other end of the titanium screw with sandpaper, glue and insert it into the other part. Make sure you use the tiny wicking nozzles for the glue - you don't want it getting on the joint - and it may work out better if you fix the two parts together firmly, so you can still rotate the joint while the connection is drying - in case you dropped any glue into the joint. Obviously, use the activator if you have it to save time. I'd say it won't be as strong as the original connection, but that's only in the pull or twisting directions. The titanium will be far stronger if you're applying pressure to the side, which is normal for most joints. Worked for my kid's toys ... for a while. Then they eventually put them through the same thing that caused them to break in the first place, and broke them again. But if you're not smashing them into eachother in a fight, should be good.
Had a rough week with a car wreck and all the ensuing medical/financial drama from all that so it was a nice bit of relief to see this vid in my notifications. I got all the nostalgia from these monsters even if the figures themselves aren't too great.
Awesome review on two figures that I never got the chance to get! Even though it took two quarters of a decade to get. But oof, seeing Burning Godzilla originally $86 while the SHMA Godzilla Junior that I got being $45. Very unfortunate to see this line growing more pricey as time goes on, even if they don’t come with accessories.
I remember getting the original Monsterarts DESTROYAH at a G-Fest and thinking, "Bandai will NEVER EVER re-release him." Oh foolish younger me, but I digress I didn't pay a crazy markup price for him. The same vendor there always had the "effect" portions sets (destroyed buildings, a blast effect, Super X III, jet fighters, and the tanks) for a REAL good price and nabbed myself two each of those so attaining a few battalions of those maser and ice tanks that the "Special Color" Destroyah came with. Ooooh that led me down a path of making a diorama display with those Bandai city blocks which I still use to display my Monsterarts (GvK) Goji, Gamera (Legion), Baltan, Ultraman (OG), Gomora, Zetton, Belial, and Revoltech Gyaos (Guardian of the Universe). Used to have my Pacific Rim: Uprising Figuarts with them but Ultraman collecting slowly weeded them out.
I don't know what to be more shook by, the fact that Jobby opened the new box for the Burning Godzilla, or the fact someone kept in unopened...OR the fact that Chris sent that in a PO Box
Jobby, have you looked into Super 7’s Godzilla line? They are fantastic. Poor articulation though. Fair price. Absolutely huge. I’d love to see you review one, one day. They’ve actually just released the same figures you reviewed in this video! I have them, and couldn’t be happier with them!
JOBBY HAS POSTED TODAY today is a good day Love you jobby I have seen you for many years doing toy reviews. I love your videos. Keep them up, please thank you jobby
Hey, Jobzilla! Hope you've been well. I made it to one of your last streams while you were live and posted this in it, but I don't think you saw it. I wanted to give you my thanks for being such a decent guy and top-tier RU-vidr, one who I wish to honor with a word. A literal word in a language I'm inventing. I have used your phonetic name template, "Jobby," (yes, completely without asking -- neener neener) to render a word of near exact phonetic appearance, meaning "to play." It is spelled *đáw̌i*. (That is really how I spell it; it is meant to look Native American.)
Loved the video but I will say I'm confident the issues are just something shmonsterarts have always had. I recommend watching some of geekchests' old videos talking about their sh monsterarts figures.
Ooh Jibby, i think it could be both, the fact that it was in storage for that long and the typica QC issues that differ too much from figure to figure, i have the same figures (my Destoroyah is the first version released) and my Godzilla is extremely solid for the most part, except the foot falling off, that's just... Vegeta's left arm at this point
Hey, jobby, I know you probably won't see this, but I can tell Burning goji actually has like 24 segments in the tail going off of a Sh monsterarts heisei godzilla figure I have
Fun fact: Toho originally wanted to name Destroyah into “Destroyer” but they couldn’t legally trademark the name so they went with what was the closest they could get. So yes. It’s accurate to nickname him as Destroyer.

to fix that wing you can drill a tiny hole on each broken end and insert a metal rod like from a paperclip and glue it together, wont pose but its gonna stay there
Hey Jobby, might I suggest the Super7 Ultimates! Destoroyah? He's as flexible (if not more so) as the MonsterArts here, and it's true that his colors are more akin to the IDW comics, but he's noticeably bigger and ABSOLUTELY SOLID. And he comes with two Juvenile Destoroyahs as well.
