You cannot determine the bolt circle of a 5-lug pattern by measuring from the center of opposing bolt holes across the centerbore. 4, 6, or 8 OK, but not 5

I got a set a wheels from a friend and they're 225/40R 18's all around for my 04' Subaru outback, turns out they just barely fit, it's like a half inc maybe even some odd centimeters difference in the hub size. I learned a lesson today sadly, the hard way - - Moral of the story test fit before you buy ladies and gentlemen

The worst thing is when the wheel you really want doesn’t come in your bolt pattern

So not to sound stupid, but why not make custom plug sets for the extra holes? That could be a nice decorative thing to do. For instance, why not led light plugs, with choice of color , or just little sculls or extra spikes? They could attach with a shim from behind and be installed with the rim. Now you can send me that royalty check !!!:)

Thanks for this video!! I recently bought a pair of wheels and tires from a sheriff's department at auction and the wheels had 10 holes drilled in them. I had never seen that before. I drive a 30-year-old pickup with 8 lugs. If I missed it, I apologize, but are there different wheels for Dodge, Chevy, and Ford, or will these wheels I have fit most any of them? I wish I could send you a pic. Either way, this was a big help for me to get started. The sheriff's department looked to have all GM vehicles i.e. Blazers and GM pickups and such. Don't have any idea if these wheels and tires came off of one of their vehicles or not.

Somebody selling me a wheels that was 5x112 and redrilled to 5x114.3. Thoughts on that? Are the wheels still good?

I have some wheels that are dual drilled. 5x115 and 5x4.75. Offset + 10 and center bore 72.6....... Since they were originally made for camaro with they fit on a 2007 monte carlo being the dual drilled rims bore is 72.6? Would I have to use hub centric rings or something?

So my vehicle is sitting on 15s the tires are 5x41/2 .. Now what I want to put it on is a new set of tires from my old Honda they’re momo 17” rims and they’re 4x51/2 ... I know I’ll need an adaptor to make up for the fact that one tire is a four lug and the other a five . But what about the lug spacing ?? Do they make adapters that’ll allow me to overlook that issue and put on the new 17” 4x51/2 tires on my 5x41/2 that my vehicle from what I can see demands ..?? Did you know that although rare, there are tape measures and rulers out there that are not 100% dependent on the appendage length of a dead monarch? All joking about mm versus inches aside, there are other fitment item that should matter for wheels. Most aftermarket wheels should have a spacer ring for the inner bore. For example, Toyota and Chevy/GMC both make wheels with a 6x5.5 lug pattern but the Toyota center bore is vastly bigger. The new Ram trucks with the 6x5.5 wheels have a slightly smaller center bore than the Chevy/GMC. Do you folks do test fitments on all your wheels to make sure they have good clearance for the brake calipers etc.,. ?

Have you done a video on adapters like dodge 5 bolt to Chevy 6 bolt about the pros and cone of them ?

I have wheels with 115mm bolt pattern. My vehicle has a 114.3 bolt pattern. They do fit, and bolt nicely, but is it safe? I get some who say no, some say it's fine. I drove it, and there are no vibrations, wandering, or shaking. Drives great. I did buy hub centric rings for it as well.

Question. A rim that has dual bolt patterns (5x114.5 and 5x100). Would the rim with those patterns ( or any that have the holes closer to each other) be a hazard as far as strength? I look at a image of a rim with those specs, and because the smaller bolt pattern that is closer to the bore hole as less meat (metal around it, as a pose to a rim with a single bolt pattern). Just wonder if there less integrity and possibility of that surface area, cracking/snapping from strain?

quick question I bought some universal rims off my friend who had the same car as me only a little newer, he said they fit his car so that mine would be fine however when I went to the shop to install them the worker told me they didn’t fit?

I ordered Lug Nuts with my new set of rims and tires, because I didn't know how to determine size of lugnuts I needed they sent me lug nuts size of ( 14x2.0), it turned out that was the wrong size. I didn't know how to determine what size lug nuts I needed so I ran to my local parts store. The local parts store determined from fitting old lug nut I needed a 14x1.5, which they had in stock. When I got back to install new lug nuts on my truck I tried to install new lug nuts on truck but they would only thread about 1/8 of an inch. I stopped at that point because I didn't want to strip the threads on my studs. I'm at a loss with figuring out what to do!
