A quick n easy recipe of Chicken Steam Roast. Follow this video for perfect result of tender, delicious & falling off the bone chicken steam roast. Traditionally served at wedding banquets in Pakistan. Chicken steam roast is very popular street food.
Whole chicken or chicken pieces are cooked in a heavy-bottomed pot on a low flame. The pot is tightly sealed so that steam forms and cooks the meat in the marinade and its own juices. The result is a flavorful, juicy and mouthwatering chicken steam roast.
Ingredients in English/ Urdu:
Preparation of Chicken Steam Roast:-
Brining Chicken:-
• 1 Kg Full Chicken, 04 Pieces
• 1 1/2 Jug water
• 3 Tbsp Vinegar
• 1 ½ Tbsp Salt
• ½ Tbsp Ginger/ garlic paste
Cover n put in refrigerator
• Wash well n dry with kitchen towel
• Shallow fry for few minutes
Preparation of Marination:-
• 1 Tsp Chili flakes (kutti hui lal mirch)
• 1 Tsp black pepper (kali mirch)
• 1 Tsp coriander powder (dhania powder)
• 1 Tbsp grounded dry coriander (kutta hua dhania)
• ½ Tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
• ½ Tsp Garam masala
• ½ Tsp Jaifal/ Jawitri powder
• 1 Tbsp chat masala
• Orange Food color (as required)
• Salt according to taste
• 1 Tsp paprika powder
• 1 Tsp red chili powder (lal mirch)
• 1 Tsp ginger/ garlic paste (adrak/lehsan)
• 3 Tbsp lemon juice
• 2 Tbsp Tomato ketchup
• 1 Tbsp Mustard paste or ½ Tbsp vinegar
• 4 Tbsp Yogurt (Hung Curd)
• Sprinkle Sesame Seeds after marination of Chicken
Preparation of Steam: -
• 3 cloves
• 3 green cardamoms
• 1 Star anis
• 2 Cinnamon stick
• 3 Indian Bay leaf
• 1 Tbsp Fennel
• 1 Lemon/ Rind
• Water as required
• Place marinated chicken wrapped in aluminium foil
