Shad has been killing it lately man. Nearly 700k subs, best-selling author, and being a dad on top of it. Meanwhile, I accidentally poured the milk into my cereal with a little too much enthusiasm this morning and made a mess. I'm 30.
I personally saw shad and ten of the bravest warriors there, shield the crowd and festival from the fire with their bodies. Immune to the beasts firy breath due to his dedication to the spirit of Machicolation's!!! They protected the innocent and slew the beast! Another person has described the slaying of the creature above. PS. hello from utah shad!

At first I was skeptical about the so called dragon attack. Then I realized that if dragons existed anywhere it would be Australia. Y'all have some deadly creatures down there 😳😲😬

@@TheAsvarduilProject Up here in Queensland, kitchen sink is just the unofficial word for "hole in the ground with teeth ah F$#K". Thankfully the likely hood of a kitchen sink attack is rarer than that of the more common dropbear.
Not gonna work unless he can go into a different realm and film it. If he manages not to tick one off, the dragon will most likely try to reason with him, not that he can do any damage on a dragon anyway. I know it's a joke, but still.

While many pommels were thrown to end the dragon rightly, it was Shad's slow, methodical, and calculated unthreading of his great weapon that finally brought the mighty beast down! Soon after, his victory cry of MACHICULATIONS could be heard echoing across the fields, repeated by all those who witnessed the wonder. I'm glad you had fun Shad!

Damn, this looks fun. I used to live in Cornwall, and they had festivals like this at Pendennis castle. A lot of the time it was specifically pirate-themed, but there was one I specifically remember that had jousting and combat reenactments. It was totally thrilling seeing dudes walking around in full plate.
The speech Shad gave during the dragon atack moved me to tears, thanks to it we were able to stand against the beast together with him at the front (I hope your eyebrows grow back soon)

They stayed engaged with you throughout and really brought great energy to your meet and greet) and you stayed MOVING! 6:15 As someone who also works in an independent production company, I think that when most people ask questions like "what's it like to film ___?" that they're more asking "what's it like to make ___?" I know I'm always asked about the music process, which typically leads to an editing process discussion anyway. P.S. If you can ever afford the time and trip to the US, the King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA is top notch, and I bet you could get a few good videos out of that trip.
Like it or not Shad you are one of the biggest in the historical/fantasy youtube community. Do not be surprised, when I meet Lloyd (Lindybeige) in Visby in 2015 (or whas it 16?) I felt more exiteted than if I would have meet any moviestar (damn that guy is surpisingly tall, he looked down on me and i'm 187 cm). Please do show up in Sweden some time, the medieval week in Visby is really something to see. Ps I have finished your book and I really gotta say its really a damn good debute novel. Damn I laughed everytime a recognised a thought or comment from the channel.

Why should we ask how a Shadiversity episode is edit? A magician never tells his tricks anyway. And with this quality of editing and humor it has to be the craft of a truly high skilled sorcerer. But even a sorcerer of the level couldn't rescue the footage of the epic battle, already destroyed by the dragons harmful fire. But Shad led his loyal fans into battle. Everyone of them equipped with a sword on there back. They drew it out smoothly and started to push the dragon into defense. When he was almost out of stamina, they all gathered around Shad and shouted what has to be the most epic war cry in history: Machicolations! That was too much for the dragon to withstand and so he flew in awe, thankful that there are still humans who care about dragons.
Looks like loads of fun. Appreciate you sharing this event and your experience with the RU-vid audience that were unfortunate enough to not attend. Would love to see more. I gotta say though. I'm surprised I didn't see some immeasurably intense sword flourishes. Out of curiosity...if I did a backflip mid-flourish would I be rewarded bonus points? Because I can do what's called a cheat ganer and a corkscrew flip with a weapon in hand. I gotta know so if I attend......you get what I'm saying.
Professor Shadiversity didn't even look at the Dragon as he just screamed his WAR CRY. This the Dragon roared back giveing the slayers a moment to slay the beast. Plus I wish we knew who won the competitions HEHE
Shad, if you ever have a hankering to do a U.S. Meet-n-Greet, I recommend Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie, TX (it's just outside of Dallas). It usually takes place in April-May, so it's not very hot, and Texas has things in common with Australia, only our wildlife is much less deadly and our accents aren't as impressive. Also, no drop bears to spice things up. :(

So awesome!!! Shad meets his adoring fans! I can tell by the look of the festival that it's a proper historical recreation festival and not just a random fantasy and goth mish/mash. The Renn. fairs we have here in the U.S. are ok but we lack festivals like this. Well done Shad!

Shad, sorry for offtopic, but I have read your book and it is amazing! And could you clear some confusion for me, please? Specifically the mechanichs of turning darkstone. Because there are explanations for moving darkstone straight, but I don't think there is anything on turning)
Multiple light sources with differing levels of luminosity. A hub the shines on a darkstone core and the front of the ship with another on the other side of the core towards the back will cause the core to rotate.

I attended Pennsic one year and there was so, so much to see. And I was there for three days! Didn't see a tenth of it. And I wasn't even a celebrity. Fun times, glad Shad had fun at Abbey Medieval Festival! Looked even more exciting... they had horses!

As a member of a biggest reinactment group in Serbia i am lucky enough to attend festivals like these almost every week. This one looks awesome and i would have loved to come and meet you shad but its kind of a sea in beetween serbia and australia xD. Festivals in Europe are lucky enough to be held in or close to real medieval castles so that really ads to the charm of it all. Hopefully one day you could come to one of our festivals im sure Europe would love to have you ^^
