He did warn you. He was manipulative, but he did warn you. He was right, she knows how he feels. This all started when the love of his life was killed.
"hope is dangerous, clouds your judgement", kaz said that to unej in s1, this sentence is layeeeerrreddd, she is indirectly telling him she saw him, also it means that the hope she had about them is clouding her judgement about them
22:07 kirigan losing the only person he had left, his mother, hurt me quite A LOt and him painfully saying “i never meant this to happen” and then baghra’s “stupid boy” HIT ME SO HARD but he shouldve expected it like he was soo blinded by the desire of absolute power and control he did this to himself…
THE SIX OF CROWS BOOKS👏 ARE 👏SO👏FREAKING👏 GOOD. I read them without reading the shadow and bone series because the show gave enough background on the world in general. But if you love Kanej/the crows in general PLEASE READ THE BOOKS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT
I read shadow and bone first because everyone suggested to. I loved the first two, but hated three. Mostly because of the priest. But when I read six of crows the first time, I was amazed on the maturity of these books. It tackled darker story lines and themes. Each character had development and a motive for their actions. Everything was well written and each ship had a reason to exist. They were easy to go for because of this development and great writing. Also, the crows are a mood. The fighting this season for the crows was phenomenal. Kaz’s fight alone felt something out of the kingsman movies. Chef’s kiss.
it’s the parallel of kaz’s illusion abt his brother DROWNING HIM WITH HIS PAST and inej fucking pulling him out and saving him for me😭😭 kanej got me in the feels for the whole episode 6
The writers have already written a six of crows spin off! It’s just depends on the views for season 2 as to if it gets green lit. Their plan is to have Alina & the shadow and bone plot separate from the crows going forward. From what the writers have been saying in twitter the spin off is going to be REALLY good, they have an episode focused on each character and the ice court heist plot, which is what Kaz was talking about at the end (if you know you know)
If they do end up doing something like this, whether it be a six of crows spinoff or a season 3 of shadow and bone, I 4hink a six of crows spinoff would be the most likely to come first, judging by what you said about separate plots, the vie court, and the crows were talking about jurda parem
Highly HIGHLY recommend the six of crows books they’re peak 🤌 chefs kiss. The show writers understood the characters so well even though the story was different
@@LakiaJaiTV naa in the shadow and bone book series the crows aren't in it at all the shadow and bone and six of crows books are separate and you don't have to read shadow and bone first just help a little i guess with understanding grisha cause of jesper in six of crows
These first two seasons followed the Shadow and Bones books with the crows added in but the next few seasons will probably follow The Six of Crows book with Alina and then as an added bonus, that’s why there are so many questions left unanswered. Tbh they integrated the two so well and I’m siked for season 3! And you should definitely check out the books; they have many differences and I think you’ll enjoy them!
if you’re not exited for the possible 3rd season i’m just gonna tell you that if it happens it will be focused on the crows mostly and what happened in their duology :)
Regardless of all his smack talk, Kirigan loved his mother. He was trying to hold of the shadow monsters who kill those whom threaten him. (He can't control them fully) He may have some hatred for his mother but his love for her was the reason he continued to keep her alive, even tho sometimes that meant imprisoning her
19:15 literally the poster of the season told us (mal has the wings of the firebird, while the darkling has the stag and alina the sea whip) i didn’t even think abt it during the reveal
In case you didn't know, in the actual novels the crow gang and Alina's gang never crossed paths together. The crossover of stories is unique to the show, and we absolutely adore it.
The reason why there are so many unanswered questions is because season 3 will be taking off right when the plot in the first Six of Crows book began! The job that Kaz is talking about with the jurda parem is the first books plot :))
Mann when i tell you i SCREAMED at that final Kanej scene, the quotes are taken DIRECTLY FRIM THE BOOKS and i was saying the lines along with them ahshahdj
Kirigan : creating the fold, killing thousands of people, forcing Alina and using her power, hurting Genya and many other things Lakia: That’s not enough 😂
The entire show is about a fold that he created and it's not enough 😂 Ben Barnes could be cast as Joe Goldberg in You and Lakia would still be like "Uhmmm... Is he bad? Not exactly!" 😂
It’s made very clear in the books that Grisha who don’t use their powers get very sick and can die. Jesper “sickness” didn’t manifest in the traditional way though. He’s not physically ill but he has a massive gambling addiction. I really liked that twist.
the way Kerrigan literally maimed Alina, held and used her against her will and let Genya be abused by the King for years for his own gain. that’s what you keep forgetting😭😭😭
He makes my skin crawl. I get so uncomfortable when he is around women. Like that's a groomer. He likes to groom young girls/women and abuse them. Idk I feel like the show leans into that, but people are not picking up what they are putting down. I struggle to get through their scenes together.
52:33 and 52:46 while you were trying to wrap up the video and kept repeating yourself, I KNEW you were thinking about kirigan. the expression on your face. 🤣the moment you said you were bitter about what happened to him, i started laughing. also, the reason alina has that look on her face at the end, she got a taste of the dark power kirigan wielded and she liked how it felt.
😂so this second half was willllldd Kirigan is giving full on Azula vibes (I didn't want him to die 😭) That KANEJ scene was GOLD we need more Wylan and Jes perfect Nina and Mattias she needs to get her fur of slab out of prison Mal was okay 😂(ish) Pekka Rollins is a dusty musty ugly man Nikolai is such a vibe ❤ Alina doing that cut at the end shocked me 😂Your reactions to this were amazing 🔥
Just so you know the « random bee » is actually a forshadowing from the book King of Scars. But I agree it must have been so strange to watch if you didn’t read the novel, like just a bee minding her buisness during Kirigan’s funeral 😂
I can’t with the mal hate my poor boy 😭 he’s a good reliable man yeah he’s “safe” (some say boring) but I love him for that 🥺 I stg I’m the only one who sees his value lmaoo
They dropped the ball big time this season with Darklina. The books were so much more in depth and his end was 10x better in the book. Thank gosh for Kanej. They saved this season.
Alina's storyline is pretty much done. Whatever they come up with is gonna uncharted territory. I think Shadow and Bone will turn into the Nikolai show. And hopefully the Crows get their own spin off. If they don't get their own spin off, then I want season 3 to just be about them. The other girlies can make a cameo if it works. But I don't want to give them the B/C/D plot. Just focus on the Crows and the Ice Court. Then they can go back to Nikolai and his issues in season 4.
corporalki is the order for grisha who deal with the living and dead, so heartrenders, tailors, and healers,,,, they can each be anything in their order but they have to train for to do so its not a skill they automatically know how to navigate. So like Nina was trained in being a heartrender but last episode you saw her tailoring Inej's tattoo almost entirely but you can still barely see it because Nina's not good at tailoring also Nina also said in episode 3 that she wasnt a good healer but she healed inej enough so that she stopped bleeding
it’s crazy to think abt that alina will live a veery long life like a thousand years long… CRAZY i don’t think abt it too often but it is insane and the fact that she has shadow powers now i’m SCARED
22:07 kirigan losing the only person he had left, his mother, hurt me quite A LOt and him painfully saying i never meant this to happen UGH hit me like a truck but he shouldve expected it like he was soo blinded by the want of power and control jesus
I agree! I’d love a Sankta Neyar backstory 😍 I also feel like most of the characters are thoroughly underutilised, the darkling could’ve been terrifying and demonic and beautiful but instead every character was written in such a minimal way
I DONT KNOW IF YOU LIKE BOOKS BUT IF SO YOU NEED TO READ SIX OF CROWS FOR ALL THE CROW CONTENT AND THE JURDA PAREM JOB,,, ALSO, THEYVE WRITTEN AN ENTIRE CROWS SPINOFF BUT IT MIGHT NOT EVEN REACH THE SCREEN BC OF THE LOW SEASON TWO VIEWS AAAAAAAAAAA
The most ironic thing about this ending is that fact that the Darkling’s death hurt so much more than mal’s sacrifice😅 I feel so bad but I couldn’t care less about his death and was so disappointed when he was brought back and even more angry that he left her after everything she risked to bring him BACK! He’s such a dumbass, I’m sorry. And how she’s on the path of darkness and blah blah blah😂 I’m tired…still gonna watch if there’s a third season for Nikolai and the Crows💀
You and me- same person. I was 100% behind the idea of Mal dying and when Alina and the others were trying to delay it I was like, "Either he gets killed by Alina or he'll get killed by Kirigan. Either way, he won't be alive. So choose." And then when Alina brought him back...AGGGGHHHHH!! So frustrating.
fyi, kaz needs his cane because he jumped off a building once and broke his leg and it never fully recovered. i think there was a reason for him not using a grisha to fix it but i can't remember- maybe it was his touch phobia
I’m so grateful to God for your content! It’s hard to find funny commentary videos that glorify God so I’m so happy to have found you! Much love!! 💜💜💜 definitely a fav RU-vidr
potential spoilers 7:13 yeah, thats exactly right. He suffers from haphephobia, he was actually forced to use jordie as a flotation device to keep from drowning as he squm back to the harbor. Dark stuff also, this is what the wiki says about durasts "They can manipulate glass, steel, wood, plants, stone, or anything solid on a molecular level. This includes changing a solid object’s shape, texture, or composition. They can make flowers bloom, remove an object's pigment, move things without touching them, and even absorb harmful matter from another person's body into their own." and f i n a l l y kaz has a cane from when he broke his leg as a kid and it healed wrong i keep forgetting the crows ages range from 16 (wylan) to 18 (matthais)
10:20 welll i mean technically nikolai and alina's friendhsip isnt too close if you look at it realistically, but for them to include those "intimate" alone time in a show on screen is too intimate for platonic friendships honestly, love them
the fact that shadow and bone is full of very powerful women and terribly awful men (except for kaz, jesper, wylan, nikolai, mal, matthias, obviously…)
You’re sad! And I understand it! I’m too! I miss the Darkling.... There was so much potential in this story and his storyline was not good in season 2. He lived undercover for 400 years, had plans... but this season he acted totally predictable and stereotypical. I knew before that Darklina is not the Endgame.... but damm! They should have been! I've seen this story right in front of me! I really hope Alina gets a GOOD storyline with Nikolei next season. He was the most interesting character after Alexander and he had great chemistry with Alina. Mal and Alina do NOT have hot love chemistry… just friendship and please, I hope they are just friends in the third season!
I know it’s hard but we need to divorce our love for Bin Bons (Ben Barnes) from Kirigan 😂 the man pimped out an 11 year old (plus the mass genocide thing)
First, I can’t stand those dream sequences of the writers teasing ships and than taking it away. They do need to figure themselves and find what they need first so get it from a narrative perspective. At least kaz confessed. Fine by me. Also, nikolai and Alina should now be endgame. Unless she turns evil now. They had more chemistry and cared about Ravka. Nikolai is kind, compassionate, finny, charming. I wanted to marry him after one episode. Alina, what? Hope to see more Jesper and Wylan moments. Glad the darkling is dead. I feel the crows had better stakes and did not need something like the fold for conflict. Their town having every dark thing in the book was stakes enough.
If you’re going to read the books, don’t even bother with the Shadow & Bone trilogy, tho, it’s not worth it. Just read the Crows duology. That’s the true masterpiece of the Grishaverse.
I need to stop watching these shows with my adult brain. I swear when you reach a certain age, and not even age just experience, you see things differently. You're not interested in beating around the bush when it comes to love and drama gets dialed alll the way down. Like, Inej did EXACTLY what she should have with Kaz. When she was like, 'I'll have you without your armour or not at all' I was like finally!! Girl go get you a man who's dealt with his trauma and READY to have a relationship. He'll 'get there' my ass, Kaz is not READY for a relationship right now and yes, his trauma is valid, but Inej should not have to wait for whenever he decides to deal with his issues. This show is ships for the girlies, I get it. Season 1 was good but this one... aigoo! A mess.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m 40 so probably not the target audience but I did love the show. I was proud of Inej for respecting herself because it’s obvious Caz ultimately wouldn’t appreciate her. He wouldn’t be able to not project his trauma onto her and discarding her sooner or later. She did the most loving thing for him and herself by letting him deal with his issues first.
Girl, I will not lie to you- I WAS 110% BEHIND MAL DYING! For me, Mal doesn't help Alina grow as a person. Everyone else challenges her in someway. But Mal kind of drags her down because he reminds her of the life she's trying to get back to. Now, this wouldn't have bothered me if this goal forced both Mal and Alina to evolve as characters but it doesn't. So when I heard he had to die, I was cheering. Also, Inej and Kaz are my main ship, so I couldn't care less if Mal's and Alina's ship crashed and burned.
