Shadow Cyclist: West Alpine Road, near Palo Alto, California 

I find this climb about a 5-6. It has a couple of steep corners at the bottom, otherwise it's about a 7% grade, so not too bad. It flattens off in a couple of places giving a good chance for recovery. The challenges are that it's a fairly long climb (relative to others in the area), and if you start from the Bay Area, you need to climb over one mountain road (such as Old La Honda) to get to the bottom of this one. Up Old, down 84, up West (left passed La Honda), down Page Mill is a great ride!

Yes, I have tried mounting the camera on the handlebar and uploaded a couple of videos from the Tierra Bella 2012 ride. Problem was I found the image fairly bouncy, the camera kept tilting down, and finally the mount broke off and the camera hit the deck! I haven't bothered replacing it.
