8:18 Maria made Shadow blush! Like she's the first person to actually make him blush in any canon media ever. Maria really made Shadow blush, smile, and cry. I love it that he's actually feeling more feelings in this game! Also her getting more lore development and the fact that she's been to Spagonia, has a baby sister and she goes into more detail about her disease, NIDS (Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome) really helped her character, considering we didn't know much about her before and now we know so much. It's great!
Still very sweet that Omega thought about Rouge and was worried about her. Same for how he was set to protect Gerald and Maria. Their personal bodyguard of sorts, and thats why he's the best bot pal
I love how we get more of a glimpse into Gerald and Maria's lives, like how Gerald has two sons, with him implying which one is Maria's father and which one is Eggman's. And apparently Maria has a little sister. I wonder if that sister will ever come into play in the future.
There’s a chance! In Archie Comics, there’s a girl named Hope who looked extremely like Maria. She’s Gerald’s Great Grandchild. (Although, in that line, her father was Robotnik’s brother, so clearly just descended from one of the kids there) She’s an utter badass, and she and Shadow were such great friends. I’d love to see her return in some way.

i love that Big of all people is the only character that got to meet Elise post time reset, & of course he would be capable of learning Chaos Control i mean, considering the time periods we visit, Rouge is already a tad too late, Chaos Island is basically at the highest security possible until future Sonic beats The End; Soleana is in the middle of Eggman invading it & the only treasure there is Mephiles which she already stole, Space Colony Ark is the current by Generations one so GUN already plundred

Huh... if you look back at the Sonic Adventure cutscene it makes a bit of sense on why Big appeared on Shadow's story they both used the same Chaos Emerald.

14:47 I think this confirms a theory of mine regarding the Classic and Modern timelines. The idea is that while there was indeed a split at some point, the new Classic games, Mania and Superstars, still take place in the past, it's just that their events didn't take place in the Modern timeline. In other words, Classic didn't just travel across time in Forces, he still also went forward. How the split happened I'll still have to think about. I guess that the easy answer is that it happened because of Generations, as I can't imagine the time-space continuum getting away from everything unscathed. Edit: Correction, either I'm suffering from a bad case of the mandela effect and convinced myself that the New Classic games take place in a separate timeline or they re-retconned the split. Either way, it's good because a single timeline still makes more sense to me.
I can't believe Rouge the Bat, E123 Omega and Big the Cat meet Professor Gerald Robotnik and Maria in offscreen while Shadow is fighting bosses and run courses. My mind is blown but never had a chance to encounter one another in a cutscene. She also mentioned Abe but Shadow couldn't tell her that he alive in his timeline and that he a commander of GUN (the same GUN government that gotta shoot her and arrest/execute Gerald). Especially Maria telling Shadow that did he made friends and mentioning a blue hedgehog (Sonic) Shadow has to tell Maria everything about his life and friends but you know what they say never tell anyone their own future.
why do they make omega only say a bit of the voice lines. Kinda sad that gerald never mentioned eggman. Anyways notice how gerald said to shadow to not tell him anything about the future cuz it’ll ruin time and maria now knows who sonic is. I wonder what this could mean. If anything i hope gerald and maria doesn’t actually come back to life forever cuz that would ruin adventure 2s theme

Omega (or anyone's text lines) are not voiced since they're easily missable, and Gerald doesn't mention Eggman because he's from before the ark incident, and thus shortly after he stopped speaking with his sons. It's entirely possible Eggman's dad had him without telling Gerald because, according to Gerald (both in person and his journal), they barely spoke to eachother after Maria got into the ARK.

I think Gerald did mention Eggman indirectly when mentioning his two sons. Also, I HIGHLY doubt that they’ll ever bring them back to life in some way, temporarily, or permanently. Either way, if they did, then I do have to agree that it’ll mess up all of Shadow’s character development, and the events of SA2. A 2nd also: I was NOT expecting to see you here.😅
Considering the time difference she must be around 50 by now.. and considering the references to eggman’s extended family I can’t help but wonder if Abe Tower was only the start of people having beef with shadow (or Gerald and by extension shadow). Actually, you think one of eggman’s relatives is the reason GUN has all those mechs and robots?

@@theheroneededwillette6964 I'd imagine that in time they were able to start designing mechs and weapons on their own and just building off what Gerald may have originally designed. Just like in real life we have constantly built on the foundations of previous inventors long after they had passed.
I really appreciate all of the lore drops with new and old information. What intrigues me is Gerald two sons and maria little sister. Kinds random for them to drop that info unless its predicting us meeting them in the future or we already have. But by now maria's sister is probably 50+ and not sure if gerald sons are alive and if so i wonder what influence they had on the Sonic world.
My guess is that Maria's sister is meant to be the great-great-....great-grandmother of Eggman Nega, since I'd imagine they'd want him to be a descendant from Gerald's branch of the family tree.
@@SonicMegaKing I do prefer Nega being Blaze's Eggman counterpart, but I'm sort of inclined to believe they're still going with the Sonic Rivals explanation of Nega being a Robotnik family descendent from the future considering how they included a direct Sonic Rivals 2 reference in Gerald's Journal. Though I guess maybe it could just be that the Ifrit from Rivals 2 is canon, but the whole "Nega being from the future" thing isn't.
2:38 Sonic and Shadow are equal in speed and strenght...Many said that Shadow was physically stronger, even though there were no feats to prove it. Now it's better confirmed. I saw people saying that Shadow was even physically stronger than Knuckles, lol. Now it is indeed confirmed that Knuckles is in fact the physically strongest among Sonic and friends.
Sonic is faster little bit than Shadow. But Shadow has more skills and know how to use weapons. Also, we still don't know how fast Shadow can if he takes his limit rings off. For Knuckles, Knuckles can catch Shadow's spin attack until Shadow takes his limit rings off in Sonic X.

About skills, it's subjective, the difference is that he has some chaos powers, but Sonic only uses his own skills, so in physical skills he is excellent, since he only uses this in general. And Sonic X is not canon, it's different from the games.
Its a shame Shadow *has* to wear inhibitor rings to keep his power at levels that dont distress or disadvantage his body, otherwise they wouldn't be so equal anymore. But the latter is the MC after all so its only practical
I can't belive i missed this dialogue in my playthrough. Rouge is pretty much the only character that makes sense to pair Shadow with cause she is the closest character to Shadow in the present day. Were it not for Shadow s loner personality, Id bet it would be a canon pairing by now.

Rouge may feel a little scared since shadow doesn't have all chaos emeralds, shadow already fought with Black Doom but he doesn't have all chaos emeralds so i think she is scared about that, She knows that shadow is in a weak mind state because he can see Gerald and Maria, thats why she opened with shadow. I don't feel this is forced but something like "i want you to let you know"
7:28 EXPLODE?! We've seen what happens when Shadow removes his wrist rings in 06', but imagine what would happen if he removed all four! Dude would be like a volcano! All these scenes are so fantastic! The lore, the references, the questions finally answered and extra insight into the story and characters included. I enjoy them all so much! Thank you for collecting these!
Just when I think I've seen all that this campaign has done right... Not only has it given me what I didn't realize I wanted with _characterization for Omega,_ but it also brings up the whole "Dual Chaos Control" thing from '06. Before, any attempt of mine to pull off certain plans involved writing in special exceptions for myself for the whole "retconned" thing, but that detail being just... _handed_ to us in that manner eliminates that need. And all without even beginning to strain credulity either! Edit: And they also seem to have recanonized the original Big cameos in SA2... in a way that makes it seem like he has "Anime Bad Direction tm" to some degree. The silly lug doesn't seem to mind though.
I don't love how much of this is optional. Most of my issues with the story are resolved with Gerald and Maria's conversations but they're really easy to miss.
Personally, I think Omega just _wants_ Shadow to turn his hand into a gun. I don't think Shadow could do that himself now that Black Doom is dead again.
You and me both, lol. The whole Robotnik line has gotten even more deeply intertwined with the entire game series' events. Makes me wonder if Maria's baby sister who would be in her 50s by now will show up in the main series, possibly in whatever will serve as a sequel to Sonic Frontiers.
I absolutely love that Omega was given more character in these little tidbits than he's gotten in most games. Thank you Ian for reminding Sonic Team that Shadow, Rouge, and Omega are true allies and *friends*, not just the anti-villains who get lumped together.

The only true friend like that he's ever had was Maria, Omega and Rouge are friends but way more like allies. Even if the past can't chamged for this siitation, the present problem can be resolved. If the chaos can resurrect then most likely it was a miner task for all 7, so in theory one or two should be able yeld the same results while many can multi-res.
I want to rant so much, but this is for your video on comparing the cutting scenes There were inconsistencies talking about dimensional energy, but yet they changed part where it used to be through time and space to then just be time and tails and cream didn’t talk about being stuck in a “dark void” for some reason. if it’s now consistently tying then classic sonic is young sonic therefore, is there a timeline?
What I feel was contradicting is in one cut scene with the time dark magic you weren’t able to see which Eggman was being captured at first, but at the end with the dark magic portal in the old cut scene, you can see where they go, but yet in the newer one, you don’t
@@remnantofthefirstworld2930 Oh, my bad. But I just remember the same thing was in SA2, in the end of Biolizard final battle, when Shadow and Sonic used double chaos control to stop ARK from falling, but now I just remembered that they did it in super form only.
Big gets everywhere. The Ark, the setting of the most poorly received Sonic game of all time, here in White Space, Digital Worlds, and beyond. Always looking for somewhere new to fish or looking for Froggy, lol.
