Quick summary of Emerl’s backstory: Emerl was a Gizoid created thousands of years ago (pretty sure around the time of the Echidnas), even wiping out a civilization. Gerald found him during his research, and took him up to the ARK. Then, Emerl started destroying most of the ARK, described in one of the journal entries in Battle. This preview is adapting that journal entry.

I'm a random guy but honestly i always have considered sonic a hero. I'm not as old as some fans since I'm still kind of young compared to this series, but I have been following this series since 2007 and played most of the games. the only thing of note i haven't consumed is archie yet. I've been in love with this series since I got into it though but sonic is a liberator but i always saw him doing what he does *as* a heroic liberator. he's nuanced and not a goody two shoes, though. I think people conflate the two. if there's a threat, he'll face it. he's called himself a hero, and definitely fits the bill. he's not superman, or Goku, but I've definitely considered him to still fight for peace in the games. He has attitude though. I think people conflate the perception of him being heroic with him being a goody two shoes who is unbearably nice. but that's just my 2 cents that doesn't seem to be he popular take.

First I will say that Kricks interpretation of shadow is growing on me rather quickly I think he needs to get used to doing his voice in this new style more before it really sounds good. Second there’s nothing wrong with shadows run you just don’t get animation good animation at that.

“It’s not his job to be curious” THANK YOU like yeah we all agree if an actor is super connected to their own character that can be a great thing for fans but it’s a job bro. And more power to those who completely dedicate themselves to every role’s lore and importance in a franchise but that’s something they choose to do a lot of the time, yet sometimes people imply doing so is an inherent part of that job when some VA performers really just wanna lend their voice, get paid, and call it a day and that’s okay. People can be mad at SEGA for flanderizing Shadow’s character and not giving Kirk the rundown on his past but for Kirk to say he’s just now learning about all this and Sam to ask “he was never curious…?” in an almost insulted tone just seemed extra. That is a grown ass man who’s had a life and career well before being part of Sonic. And I don’t mean to dog on Sam either, he specifically isn’t the source of this problem, I’m just tired of seeing more annoying people expect everyone who’s involved with their favorite franchise to be just as obsessed as they are so even when it’s done casually by someone as knowledgeable as Sam I’m like “I thought we learned this lesson.” Eggman’s actor has made it clear over the years the franchise is pretty much a paycheck to him but he’ll still get the hardcore fans asking him about shit he could not care less about 😭
