I really appreciate how you can feel three distinct parts to this track, one for each of the three composers who worked on it, Yoshitaka Hirota, Kenji Ito, and Yasunori Mitsuda. The first part up until about 1:45 feels clearly like Yoshitaka Hirota, with the same great focus on bass and distorted vocals he uses in most of the other battle themes for the series. After that I think it feels more like Kenji Ito, utilizing the more orchestral style he used on the other tracks he did for the game and the style of melody I've come to associate with him. Then at about 2:55 it shifts again, this time to what sounds like Yasunori Mitsuda's style, with the piano focus he's used on other battle tracks he's done, with a bit of a similar feel to Astaroth from earlier in the game. It really fits the title of "The 3 Karma", and I guess that's why they specifically chose to do it this way.
"Do you see it? The Space Beyond the Gates of Time?" "Yeah, i see it...." " Then you still intend on facing me?" ...Yeah. Easily one of the most memorable moments in rpg history. 2 friends facing each other not out of hate ...but out of necessity. One to change a world that he thinks needs to be have fate rewritten, another who thinks that if it were to be rewritten...the most memorable parts would be worth nothing. Both men having experienced loss, yet are two sides to the same coin. The ending this game was poetic and heartbreaking.
He was a lit AF protagonist. “Bite me” like what. He really didn’t give a fuck he was crude and outspoken and a fool around women. Remember the Lucia erotic dance. “Yeah x8” I loved his humor. He also roasted his teammates constantly. The last of this series Johnny (I did not like my girl Shania was main MC tbh)
@AlmightyPolarBear Same here! And yeah, it's a shame the franchise is stuck with a company that refuses to use it. I'd love a new version of the trilogy; emulation is finicky when it comes to these games. At least we can look forward to the spiritual successor, though. It's called Penny Blood, in case you haven't heard of it.
@@TirOrah Yeah, hopefully they see what Konami is recently doing and follow in their footsteps. I know about it. I backed it already. I want that game, and the trinkets to come with it.
If you finish all the side quests though, he becomes a joke. Especially if you got Dark Seraphim. I just replayed the game and he went down so fast I didn't even need to heal.
@@Terithian Yeah, that was pretty anticlimactic when I replayed the game as an adult. Teenage me had such a hard time with this fight, but adult me utterly steamrolled it. Still, I appreciate accessibility.
