I have heard this song countless times over my many playthroughs of this game and NEVER does it mystify me any less than it did the first time. This game is a work of art and an absolute masterpiece
Sorry, but he controls in this game prevents it from reaching the "masterpiece" status. In fact, aside from the actual Colossus boss fights, the game was rather boring to me.
@@jaym5118 it was a boring for me too but thats because i too played this remake, today there are so many games with different beautiful concepts, this one came out back in ps2 days, think about it the best games were literaly gta san Andreas and resident evil 4, so this game was definitely a masterpiece for the ps2 days, it's a lot different when you play a game in it's prime time vs when you play it long time after, for conparison i am really hating the witcher 3's graphics it's outdated for today's standards, textures look flat there is less real geometry.
As great as they did with this remake, I do wish the directors would have chosen to let the sound effects go silent at this part and just let the hauntingly beautiful score play on its own, like in the original, without all the “clip-clop,” of the hooves in the background. Minor issue, but it does take away a little of the magic imo.
I've played this game so many times that I think if I somehow woke up in the forbidden lands, I would be able to find my way around. I know I'm not the only one.
right around the 2.33 music swelling, (and im borrowing from CV:LoI's intro here) but all i hear in my mind is "A great legend is about to begin." its in full force once he gets to the other side of the "Gates of the Forbidden Lands" 2.43-ish
Amazing graphics, but they made some design mistakes, like the one I like the least: they put sound effects to this intro, and worse yet, they can be heard better than the music itself. The PS2 original and the PS3 remaster don't have sound effects in this scene, and it feels a lot more epic, spiritual, transcendental and emotional. Still grateful for this remake/remaster, even when I don't own a PS4...
YES thank you, I’ve always thought the same about this intro. The part that especially bothers me is at 2:29, the music is so hauntingly beautiful, yet it’s kind of competing with the “clip clop,” of the horse’s hooves that wasn’t in the original. Takes a little of the magic away imo. Too bad, they almost nailed it otherwise.
@@henreebee6561 ;) Luckily we will always have the originals... Though it was a missed good chance to make a really faithful remake. It wasn't bad, but... not perfect. Or maybe I pay too much attention to detail, I don't know... Best regards.
@@SergiMedina I’m wondering who at Bluepoint thought that no sound effects in the intro was a mistake that needed to be corrected and not an intentional design choice by Ueda and team. Oh well, they still did a great job overall.
