The greatsword of damnation doesn't cause frenzy because it was helping keep the frenzied flame at bay in that poor old man, no? Thats how i interpreted the cutscene anyhow, like it was the plug on the drain keeping the chaos flame from taking over and him becoming the lord of the frenzied flame, and after we beat him up a little he just gives up and says fk it
@@Fowler-27I think it should’ve been an AOW that sends out a lunge and if it hits, it skewers the enemy lifting them into the air and sending out a shockwave or something inflicting everyone, including the user with madness. Tbh that sounds like it would become very broken
Yeah, if others actually read the description, they’d learn this sword was an execution blade used by Hornsent. It didn’t belong to Midra, but was used to kill him and the other followers
Also put a serpent god curved sword in ur off hand and u still get the passive from it which givsa u hp back after every kill.which is amazing with backhand blade before u can duel weild and it only counts as 1 slot
Besides a more forward movement moveset, How are they different from a Curved Swords powerstance...? i genuinely want to know bcuz it bothers me. Every good thing ppl say good about backhands, can essentially say same thing for powerstance scavengers curved lol
Use serpent god curved sword in offhand to get the hp back after killing enemy passive it works with backhand sword because duel wielding still counts as 1 slot
@davethescrub858 go grab serpent god sword look it up it's easy to get and it helps u save flasks then I use the 2 tailsmans from millicent and then 2 defensive tailsman for the dlc anyways id prob take the defensive ones out for the base game. I run 75 dex because prosthetic gives 5 dex so it puts it to 80 then I run 35-40 endurance 50-60 vig and then wreck sht
YESSS Lizard Greatsword.... it dropped on my first attempt of fog rift catacomb. i like the charged heavy but it saddens me that i cannot do the pogo stick attack like the imp did.
@@QuantumTelephone nah, look that shit up. any sleep build mainly sucks cause they have nothing but pots and grease, but the eternal sleep does wonders. You're big time heavy hitters it don't work on lol
Made me so happy to see Devonia's hammer because I used it the second I got it in the DLC to the final boss. It is so much fun to use and is quite strong too!
if you can dual wield individual perfume bottles, you could have the Frostbite in one hand and Fire (or even frenzied flame) in the other; freeze em and reset em in one L1
It's crazy that you don't have the Shadow Sunflower on here. With max inputs, that AoW does more damage than anything else. Plus it's a colossal weapon, so tons of stagger.
Great vid thanks for explaining how the movesets can make different combos. Fromsoft is really changing the game with these moveset animations the future is looking so good for fluid game mechanics in souls games
Orphan of KO’s was imo the hardest FromSoftware boss for me and i know it’s different for everyone but him and Demon of Hatred would be my #2 and then some of the SOTE bosses
@B-Eazy999 everything in sekiro is super easy once you have the deflection on point. Even on ng7, orphan of kos was nothing on some of the elden ring bosses. Fast yes but not too difficult
Zombie cleaver having arcane scaling actually gives new somber options for str/arc builds besides Mohg's spear. Str/Arc is my favorite way to play so I was hype when I found it
I use it together with an uchigatana and it's amazing, also oftentimes it's best to do an uncharged AoW followed up by a dualwield strike or spam AoWs uncharged it's so much dmg and bleeds enemies fast
11:07. Its unfortunate and hopefully gets patched, but no. The lightning actually still scales with Dexterity. Its bizarre as the faith scaling doesnt really improve much at all. You can test this by watching what happens to the lightning damage number after each dex level versus faith levels. It almost seems like an error or oversight
A lot of the weapon scaling seems wrong tbh. The meteorite great sword should scale with int, not arc. The final boss's swords should scale with faith, not int (considering all the attacks are holy light, not magic). The great katanas should scale with a mix of strength and dex, considering that they're big katanas, they shouldn't have similar scaling to normal katanas. There are probably a lot more that I can't think of right now too.
Well the base game did the same with lightning right? Dex for weapons and faith for spells. That was the problem with lightning builds, no seal that scales with faith and dex so you can combine the 2 into a build. I could be wrong, it's been a while since I ran my lightning builds but I think those were issues I had pulling a good build together.
@@Unknowngnostic you're not wrong. But what the issue is, is the shown scaling being misleading. It's at +10 B/E//D str/dex/fth. So the dex is only a E rating the lowest a rating can be. str & fth are higher scaling and we've never had a lightning weapon that had a fth scaling letter or req on it, not to mention rhe dex req is only 10. The whole thing deceives you on what you should scale it with.
Lightning Perfume bottle with rolling sparks shotgunning is insane. With proper setup you just melt the bosses in mere seconds. I fully expect rolling sparks + perfume bottle interaction eating a nerf.
You mean the matrial arts style? I just tryed it and i found a ash if war with kick that even enchants normal jumping kicks. To kung fu kick the giant dogs in the face with jumping side kicks to the head never gets old😂 and the bleed prock is so very fast. There are even a talisman that buffs kicks and stomps. I like to use the kung fu with the new stomping freez on another weapond. The stomp hits for over 2000K normaly withe talisman buffs. I whish they buffed the frost build upp on it. Damage is fine for a AOE attack but i want the frostbite to come faster....
Absolutely, the palm blast AOW has infinite hyper armor that even the final boss can't knock you out of plus it does amazing stance damage. Dane's footwork is also great as well proccing statuses easily if you use the dry leaf whirlwind skill although it lacks the impact and hyper armor palm blast has.
Using the sword of light and dark on a new game + run would be insane seeing as 1 buffs faith damage and the other reduces enemy faith damage negation…
Love the tier list man!! I haven’t actually tried out most of these myself but I’m definitely going to now lol I’ve been having hella fun with the beast claws though!
I'm happy that the rakshasa katana don't scale whit arcane, because if it scales it will be ROB 2, and it makes sense, is not a bloody magic katana, is a regular katana covered whit normal blood, and the function is: slaying armies whit infinite hyper armor. This is why it don't scale whit arcane
You forgot Backhand blade (the one you get from the start). You retain full mobility on running R1s, have extremely mobile attacks, and the ash basically makes you immortal if done right.
These lists are always fun. Felt like you missed on some weapons though, backhand blade like someone pointed out is very good and the weapon I used, the Anvil Hammer is just bonkers. I 1-5 tried every boss except for Radhan with this weapon
@@SoulKingsss hey man, just wondering what incantation you were using alongside the fire knights great sword for that combo. Was it a new messmer flame incantation?
I don't know if you have experience in sales but the way you have talked about some of the weapons instantly hooked me to buy one even if you didn't sale anything :d
Nice video! Kinda sure i got all of these, i agree with the tiers. One thing--Dane kicks with divine cold stomp from the divine beast, Its so good in PVP at least. Its an S tier if you count it on pvp, could be a A tier if you count it on pve at least, And yes! The fire knight greatsword is awesome--using it mself. Didnt know the putrescence cleaver could be so good too, lol. In my opinion the death knight axes arent that good in pve as well, but its an godsend in PVP. Liked the video. Stay strong kings! Take care:)
Besides the lore reason, Greatsword of Damnation is OP in right hands in PvP even without Madness. For those who are curious, there's a cheese strategy for PvP. Use something to inflict madness (i used Nanaya's torch) and white the opponent is stunned just use the Greatsword skill on them. It's an easy and epic looking victory.
17:55 Combining this sword with the new deflecting hardtear is so much fun. Even if I didn't beat Rellana by deflecting the moves, it was still so much fun to practice and learn the moveset using this sword with the deflecting tear
@@qwikscopez6619 I think they’re called fire golems, they’re the big wooden creatures that are filled with fire that we saw in the trailer. The first one you should see when entering the dlc will drop it once you kill it. With my great sword whenever I got it right I wouldn’t loose any health and hardly any stamina consumption is what I noticed with it
The smithscript greathammer is actually pretty nuts with a bleed build. And the heavy throw can do damage while charging. And you can also time the throw with a partial charge.
The answer to what's better - Rellana's twinblades or Milady - answer is three-sword style int/dex build, power-stancing the right Rellana's sword and Milady with Carian Soverignity and magic infusion in offhand Just... Just try it. Just try to use that combination. Just see for yourself - how many different combos, movesets, skills, and mix-ups you can make. Just do it. It's DIVINE
I agree with many of your observations. One weapond type i always hated in the old souls game are the whips. But these new bad ass whips seems like a whole new thing. Need to try one later . The Black >hammer are beyond good 😮 I use it on my strength build with flaming strike. With a perfekt strike between the eyes ive seen over 7000K damage but 4000- 5000K are common and very easy to land😊 and it was not even optimised 😮
I pretty much totally agree. Only played thru the DLC once so far, but I was basically just switching out the Fire Knight Great Sword and the Blacksteel Great Hammer the whole game. As a strength faith build, it was a perfect combo.
@@juancherrera3008 yeah, I'm pretty sure it's either flame skewer or flame spear. The dagger and sword get an extra buff if you infuse them with fire, so if you're a faith build, I recommend switching to flame arts as soon as you get it, and I like the flame skewer aow with it. It comes with something generic like Stamp or something like that, but I definitely recommend either one of those ashes with it, they're great. Giant Hunt is a good one for UGS too
The *Pata* just rip everything to shreds. They outdamage the Katar while having vastly more reach. Cold or Blood infusion makes them status inflicting machines and even without those they still do great DPS and are great with talismans like *Godskin Swaddling Cloth* and *Milicent's Prothesis* or *Rotten Winged Sword Insignia*
The greatest strength of Greatsword of Solitude is the versatility: Slow and heavy hitting boss? Break his poise hundreds of times with the complete AoW, Fast and aggressive bosses? Equip damage after rolling and two handed talisman, the base damage of this weapon is only slightly inferior to the Greatsword, a colossal weapon, with it being only a great sword
That greatsword of damnation is awesome I'll bait people into one of those attacks and they see that dmg and never get close again. I've full bared some bloody fingers like 1341 dmg one hit kill
You should have tested claws of night, the aow absolutely melts big bosses and are good in pvp as well, while staggering most smaller enemies as well. Also procs bleed fairly fast for it’s low bleed buildup.
You ain't lying, Seems like a lot of people still sleeping on this weapon, Which is good for me cause I don't want it to get nerfed lol I'm shredding thru everything with these like it's actually crazy, The throwing attack and AOW is insanely good.
Was shocked when i got 1000+ damage stats on fire knight greatsword. The damage gets insane when stacking fire affinity on my faith build. I have yet to try it against most bosses though.
To Deal with GReatsword of Damnation is to bait out people who abuse the AoW of it. Roll backwards aswell. If you have a way to deal ranged damage, Use it. If you see a 12 year old using Swift Strike, The only ways to deal with it is probably a shield bash preferbly with a GreatShield, and use Bloodflame talons to make them dash straight to it.
I hope Devonia’s Hammer gets a slight charge speed buff along with Crucible Bloom. They both take ages and are nearly impossible to land with all these fast bosses
Dual wielding light greatwords is insane, best move set in the game, and i mean actually putting 2 milady's or 2 Relanna swords in each hand so you have the L1 combo. Death night long shaft axe got me through a lot of the dlc, fun weapon. Try out the swift spear too, unique move set that's fast and looks great and slap on ice spear and you're good the whole way through!
Forgot to say about backhand blade one of the best dex and fact you can duel wield without even having two of them just by two handing them. And the ash of war great for avoiding attack and hitting from the backside.
2:38 I honestly feel like it's best compared to the Bloody Helice due to the fact that it's moving you backwards and then you can use the follow up to do an attack.
Talking abt light greatswords i know how much more superior rellana’s twinblades are but shoutout to leda and her light greatsword for being an essential help to rellana’s fight
Saw some player using the obsidian lamina and was really excited to go and find it until I realized that it’s a questline weapon. I always miss out on the questline items because I just play the game instead of following some guide on how to do all the questlines without fucking them up. Next play through it is and my god is it gonna be a lot of work just to get to it lmao
The fact the backhand blades that are infusible, and have literal I-frames in its ash of war (blind spot) and will get you out of tricky situations, and if hit can cause some major damage, and poise build up especially if made heavy. Didn't make the lost is extreeeeeeeeemely disappointing, but that's just because they're my fav weapon from the dlc. Mind you I'm a strength build with barely any dex. I usually run around bonking shit, but the backhand blades are just tooooo good.
I disagree with the sword of damnation having madness buildup. The lore of it states that it was an execution method of the hornsett while they served the Golden Order. It wouldn’t make any sense for it to have madness just because it was used by Midra, who literally pulled it out of his body after receiving it as an execution.
The light greatswords are indeed awesome. Powerstancing them is perhaps the best consecutive attack potential in the game, given their speed, reach and fluidity, while also doing excellent poise dmg. Powerstance jump attack hits 4x and does something like 20 poise dmg. Charged attacks doing like 40 poise. And as you mentioned, all the attacks combo into each other: heavy>light and jumping>light. Stylistically, I want to love the twin swords even more than I do, but its hard: What makes them unique is the AoE, which is good for sure, but does not scale with their respective stats as well as they should, and has drawbacks like the animation lengths. If you want to use them as actually weapons, you need to build str and/or dex. You are pretty much better off using Milady off-hand with cold or flame art infusion for powerstancing. Likewise, I am very confident that simply having 2x blood infused (dex/arc) Milady will be the best version of using them as weapons. The AoE, while extremely cool, is considerably lacking in ways and isn't very optimal in many boss situations. After A LOT of testing, my final build is basically just full RP: 40 dex and 72+ int, off handing cold Milady with carian sovereignty, using greatblade phalanx and dark moon for poise/debuff respectively. However, given the aforementioned problem, killing Bayle for instance, I ended up only using Milady, 2hing for poise and frost. Comparatively, even with these "ideal" stats for the twin swords, one is way better off using tools other than moon-fire stance - in this case carian sovereignty - for punish windows like poise breaks; it simply does more dmg in the same time, or less, with less fp/stamina costs. I hope they get retuned a bit.
I agree with the comments about the backhand blade, it is a very good weapon. Good list regardless, although I'm pretty sure the lightning perfume and bloodfiend's arm got hit with some nerfs
2:37 I’m pretty sure the Obsidian Lamina is supposed to be compared to the Bloody Helice. They have very similar weapon arts with the same naming scheme. In addition, their welders are servants of Mohg
I’ve run several faith/strength scaling weapons from the DLC and I’ve been kinda underwhelmed. I expected my regular game build to be crap in the DLC but blasphemous blade/iron greatsword combo with raptor chest and jumping attacks still out damages everything and 1-2 shots all enemies other than bosses 😂
Dude you are hilarious and your vids are great. I would put the new dragon hunter katana on there, good damage and nice against the plentiful dragon enemies in the dlc and base game.
i spoke about it all the Great Katanas a little bit! Couldnt decide which was genuinely best. I love that dragon weapon art tbh thank you for the positive comment 🙏🙏🙏
At 82 strength 48 arcane, two handed, blades of mercy talisman the bloodfiend arm is average w my other weapons (ruin and moonlight greatsword). After I respec'd twice with it. I've seen good builds. Though you need the perfect setup (like seven diff attack buffs) to wreck everything.
I don’t think people realize how high the bleed goes on the black steel hammer. Infuse it with bleed and it gets arcane scaling mines at 150 bleed right now lol
I wish the Devonias Hammer was good, but if you look at the damage numbers it barely does any more damage than the Ordovis Greatsword will having a slower swing speed. Not only that, but the Charged AoW on the Greatsword comes out faster and does nearly the same damage as the Hammer. To make matters worse, the Greatsword is barely not S tier in Str Scaling, while the Hammer only gets a B. I want to like it, but its so difficult when the Greatsword is just objectively better
Vyke's , fingerprint shield, perfume, madding hand, nanayas torch. Thats 5, And yes the torch included there because its more than viable right now, in fact it can almost insta-proc madness with its ash of war. If you were a little creative you could use something else to proc madness and then use Sword of damnation WA for a guaranteed kill.
try dualwielding devonias hammer with the new anvilhammer . I get 4K damage with a single jump attack with only using talismans . With buffs its even more op
i just put the spinning gravity thrust ash on a greatsword and first tried 2 bosses literally just spamming it and healing pots. its also got 168 bleed that procs a ton and crazy hyper armor.
Rakshasa Katana should be higher. The L2 ability effectively stun locks the bosses, doing the same thing as the putrescense cleaver, but with way more damage. On top of making it harder for them to stun you. I'm beating most bosses on the first or second try with it.
I was waiting for my beloved Backhand Blade with bleed infuse which is not so much worse than Bloodfiend's Arm in terms of bleed buildup speed but I guess not today...
