#272 Unique & Cool Uruk-hai/Olog-hai Encounter & Quotes - THIS IS THE "PRETENDER" URUK NOT THE "TOWER"!
For those who curious you get this to work by having the Pretender uruk around, he's the SPECIAL uruk from the outlaw DLC which released December 2018, he has that Tower looking appearance BUT he is NO Tower if you pay good attention to both of them.
What so special about him is that he's always having 4 decoys around (or decoy perk) so to get this work, get anyone of his decoy to kill you then TADA! The decoy will be promoted to these random looking uruk, random title and random armors.
Again, THIS IS NOT THE TOWER URUK, IT'S THE FREAKING PRETENDER URUK. If you're about to give out some accusation such as; this is HAXXOR and shrakh like that I suggest you do some research on the internet else your comment will not see the daylight on the comment section for that I promise.

Not really just like the idea of the Outlaw tribe (which is inspired by the Mad Max villains btw) having a slave (which look creepily similar to Mad Max warboys) as their overlord seems like a great "hint hint" to a great series of movies and pretty fun WB game!

Main issue is: Most of the slave uruks are most likely to turn to Dark/Feral Uruks and less likely to turn to Mystic/Machine... Which makes sense, but is annoying

Fun fact, if you could’ve gotten him to nurn, then garrisoned all of your captains, and replayed the mission where you rescue your overlord from bruz, there’s a chance that the original Pretender would’ve joined up with you voluntarily, as random enemy captains will join you if you have none.

I actually had one of these guys and exploited the decoys of him. Now in Lithlad I have a fortress of towers. Also when I reclaimed a fortress (Cirith Ungol) one of captains it gave me when I had to promote a new overlord, I got a pretender named “Bolg the Pretender”. He was unbreakable and had iron will but he somehow was on my side so I immediately promoted him to overlord. Now he is one of my warcheifs in what I, for some strange reason call, Lithlad, Land of the Towers. (cringy I know..) There. Some useless information that is not useful or meaningful in any way. And one last thing, I’ve been watching quite a few of these videos lately and their really interesting. I never thought there would be so many voice lines and types of uruks and their personalities. That’s all

@ikigaofficial it would be nice if we got one final update. Lots more orc customisation options, new voicelines, fixing of bugs maybe even new mechanics like curing deranged orcs of their madness. Also, I think instead of a Tower Olog there should be a Hammer Olog. Would be cool, the Hammer is the best boss of SOM

Diurnal Winter indeed it's one hella cool trick. The pretender decoy trick is the only one that work flawlessly as in those promoted captain looks almost the same as the tower/pretender. Other special orc, take blackblade for example even if you find one with decoy and get it promoted, he won't look anything like the blackblade and basically a new orc. Except for the painted orc decoy, they will retain their war paint otherwise pretender's decoy trick is the best and only trick that makes orc looks cool.

He showed up in my game just now (exact same name as the first one, and everything), and I have to admit he's making a very good nemesis so far. Despite being a pretender, and not the actual tower, he's perfectly counteracts my play-style. He seems to be the ideal antagonist for me.

Thanks for sharing. I tested on skull helmet and its possible but its not a "Gravewalker" tho (forgot the title but not a significant one thats for sure) and I highly doubt gravewalker title orc could happens on this trick since the trick only works with title that can be promote out from a grunt.

My pretenders decoys just humiliate me when they kill me, how can I make them kill me. I’ve done it 10 times and they’ve just humiliated me every time

Thanks for sharing. You see some humiliator once they humiliated you enough they will start killing you while other will just keep humiliating. Since you had done it many times but to no avail, I would suggest you to kill off the Pretender so the next one could spawn OR try out other Pretender on other regions 🤞

Josh Brown incase you got it wrongly, my "spawning" means eliminate unwanted capts in army slot, advance time and by chance hopefully one would spawned (Just a regular way to spawn/hunt orcs even on PC). I'm using the same method too, not an exploit. Chance for a new Pretender to spawn would be higher if you just gotten the outlaw DLC installed less than 5 hours otherwise as time passes his spawning rate would greatly plummeted (just like any other unique orcs in the game)

ikiga I won’t even be able to do that lmao I let him and his decoys humiliate me so many times that he just keeps cheating death now that I’m actually fighting back. I’ve killed him about 5 or 6 times and he just won’t stay dead, he’s pretty easy to kill other than the fact he’s got so much health because he’s double my level.

Josh Brown you will eventually be able to put him down for good, orc can only cheat death so many times (max 11), once you rid of him you may refer to my suggestion above. OR you could attempt the method on other region, I doubted you have a Pretender on each of the region so yea.

Olog will never get a decoy perk. The only olog that comes close to the Tower appearance is the Pain-Lover/Pain-Seeker/Terror etc

The armour can be glitchy when you use a decoy of the tower but still these combinations look nice, I recently had a glitches Olog where it sounded like one of the normal uruks, I tried dominating it but it was killed on a graug hunt right before I dominated it

Sorry to say thats happen more common than you thought, many complained the same too even those who played the game for hundred of hours :( As for the Pretender uruk one can find him pretty early on if you have Outlaw DLC installed, he will spawn much frequently and as time passes chance for him to spawn will greatly plummeted.

One thing i dont understand though... An enemy can be a beast foddler so hes heavily damaged but he can also have the beast slayer which instantly kills beasts....

@@ikigaofficial Like i stunned the beast so he falls off and then because i was on a mission with my follow that had caragor tamer so all enemy caragors that are not mounted become mine, next thing i know the uruk is just dizzy af AND THEN he becomes enraged for no reason even though he doesnt have anything he can be enraged by. 10/10 game logic

some french guy Stormbringer only works on single weapon wielder + melee orc, the Pretender is a defender + spear so not gonna work. Actually its not the voice that dictate the scar occurrence, its the personality, the "Professional" personality; there're 4 different base personalities on uruk.

I have come back to this video to make the claim I now have the ability to make the most unique pretender captains. I was forced to kill the pretender because of a story mission. He had actually cheated death and became the machine. He has the machine body but still has the tower/pretender head. And the decoy captain glitch STILL WORKS ON THEM. meaning they will be part machine, part tower, and part whatever armor they gain from promotions.

Hey there, the exact question had been shared several times and so far it seems that the furthest the "MAchine" could go is having the trickster class BUT without the "decoy" ability. Besides, even if the machine does have the decoy ability I'm doubting they could be promoted as the same as how we played around with the "Pretender" Take "Black blade" for example, I have one with decoy but they get promoted to "irrelevant" captains. Ultimately, the promotion for decoy has a limit on it's appearance.

Would the best way to get him to spawn be purging a bunch of captains then advancing time? Or does he have other requirements besides the outlaw dlc?

Once you installed the DLC he will start spawning as soon as within 30mins (some later like an hour or so) then just like every other orcs (except for scars) as time passes his spawning chance will get lower. Then you do the traditional way grind out unwanted captain advanced time to refill captain slows hoping he will be spawned.

Wassup , i have this wierd glitch with legendary followers from garisson and grunts from a gang of a captain . 1. From online conquest when i brand orc it gets sent to my garisson , nothing unusual right, well when i deploy that follower he dosent appear at all , this was stil happening with lootboxes aswell 2. When i get killed by a grunt he gets promoted but if that grunt is a decoy or is in a captain's gang they dont appear after i die

Hey there, Pretender can become the "Machine" scar that I can confirmed (from personal experience) as for Flame of War I'm not sure and I'm skeptical nor I heard of anyone gotten it to work. Btw, "Machine" scar on the Pretender has this really odd combination (Machine scar head and Pretender body) and un-cool thats all I have to say 😅

A little long ago for this but I've found out other unique orcs with decoys like The Blight or The Twins, if one has a decoy that will keep their face I've tried with The Blight orc I wonder if a olog can get decoy ologs too.

Thanks for sharing. Decoy only works on uruk, no decoy perk available for olog. Uruk decoy basically follows its host's looking EXCEPT for their warpaint/special paint e.g blackblade promoted decoy will never get that darkened body but rather a typical black tattoo, the painted captain (purple with fascinating tattoo drawing all over body) promoted decoy will never gain the same tattoo design as his host but a typical purple warpaint, etc.

I once had a pretender with decoys (lucky me) and got one (I don't remember the name) with the black wolf looking helmet with the gold tower armor. He looked amazing! Then he died during a seige...fml.

BUT typical title won't produce a fascinating promoted decoy like the pretender. If you test it on other decoy, they will be promoted to some normal looking orc except for the pretender.

Hey there! Thanks for asking. Unlike the Stitch olog and other scars (most of them are limited to 1~2 per game) as for Tower and the Pretender, they're not scar but a *default* uruk spawn WHICH are considered rare. tower is definitely rarer than the Pretender.

Sigma Hydra the potential for them to turn to special scar is possible BUT imo it has a limit of mixing so I'm doubting they can be about any scars due to the orc appearance model.

Ikiga. I have a quistion, how did u get a full region of pretender Orcs, if 1 kills you it’ll advance time. Wich Will spawn new random captains. And once it’s full they’ll start killing eachoter. Did you just kill the random captains everytime it was full or how did you do it?

Good day, yes you were right I clear off random/unwanted orc capts from time to time while doing this trick else as you said new one will spawn to replace/kill off random capt from the slot which by chance could remove the Tower-liked capt or even the Pretender.

Thanks for asking. Yes you can have special scar on erm BUT they will look odd and off such as; if the pretender/it's promoted decoy captain gotten the Machine scar, they will retain the head BUT with the machine body which means their fashion and scar will not stack well but rather being replaced, if you get what I mean.

Most welcome and also welcome to SoW 😁👏👏 Before we start, make sure you have the Outlaw DLC installed because you need it for the Pretender uruk in order for this trick to work. Also also the best you need the Pretender uruk to be the "killer" not a "humiliator". The game is pretty random in this case, some decoy work some don't and there seems to be a chance based being generated within the said decoy host whether its decoy can be promoted to look like him or not.
