I just listened to this and went out and dumped all my harmonicas in the rubbish bin. Then after some contemplation, I fished them all out and put myself in the bin and closed the lid!
wow...just wow...listened to last weekend show yesterday, excellent as always, I have missed you live the last two weekends due to poor health, but getting better day by day...thanks for your shows and posting such as this one, they are a true gift...dana via the coast of Maine
I've been butchering this song for 55 years on chromatic harmonica. Your mastery of it along with amazing technique and taste make it an absolute joy to listen to.
You did a beautiful job playing this song. I enjoyed listening to this in my way to work and instantly I was put in a great mood Thank you for your music Vince
Chris, Wow! you never let US down.. Your choice of note and phrasing.. out of this world! I enjoy that you played this in the same key as you did with your Father.
incredible ... iam lately looking for chr. harmonica masters on you tube (for inspiration) you Chris, are one in my book :) strange i had to type audix fireball to find you
Thanks for responding Chris. I put the harmonica down for over 20 years and recently picked it back up so now that I'm retired it's my favorite hobby and pastime. I'm going to keep an eye on your playing schedule. I live in New Hampshire and want to travel some so maybe I can see you play live someday. I just ordered your "In a Yuletide Groove" Christmas CD too. I play a lot at Christmas time....Thanks again!
Chris has some of the best tone I've heard, and I've been playing and listening to chromatic harp for almost 60 years. If you don’t have his album “Straight Ahead” you should buy it immediately. It’s fantastic.
I play Seydel from Greg Jones out of Texas and love Seydel and Greg Jones 16:23 harmonicas Chris much as I love Seydels product and they are Great but the sound is in the soul of the player...and you have plenty soul in your playing.
Congrats Chris, EXCELLENT, 'just love it. superbly done. It's been said, "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication some times". every note beautifully displayed, and portrayed the full meaning of this melody. 'Glad you posted it Chris. What a way to start off another New Year.Keep it up, you have done, and are still, doing some nice things. BTW do you possibly remember Herb Forcier? he was from Flint Mi. We were pretty good buddies and we've done some playing, but that was a long time ago.
Hey, Joe again. I now, after hearing your harmonica version of this song made me purchase 5 harmonicas. Two are 12 & 16 hole chromatic's. Can't play them yet but I am trying. Some day, maybe. I turned 80 this year.
What harp is this ? I'm currently learning to play a chromatic harmonica, but I don't have those low notes. My starts with a C Very nice and soulful playing!
Beautiful ..please suggest me a key in chromatic harmonica which has the lowest pitch ..will key of g d or a be good for me ..? I want something which has more bass..hohner has a tenor version of the C harmonica.. please suggest which key will be lowest in chromatic harmonica.
You sound really good. It reminds me of Toots Thielemans. What chromatic harmonica and key are you in. I should try and learn this song it sounds really good. Thank You! for sharing.
So articulated and just Sublime!! Please tell me where I can find the music sheet for yhos song. Either diatonic or chromatic version. C or D harmonica. Thank you!!
@@vikasupadhyay1398 Yes. Chromatic harmonica in the key of C. But this is a Seydel Orchestra harmonica, which has the lower notes a regular 12 hole harmonica does not have.
@@chrisbauermusic thanks , that means the orchestra version is same as the 14 holes of Suzuki scx minus the higher two notes in the 3rd octave . Thus making it a 12 hole harmonica .. your music is very melodious ..I keep coming back whenever I want a good music on harmonica ! Soulful
hey Chris, do you still have Bob's chord part for this song? I listened to his version on a R-to-R tape last week and it was beautiful. Yours, is truly amazing too. Best wishes, AJ
