If you stall for long enough, Eggman tells Shadow that's he's the real one & not some android. He brought him back to life after the events of SA2... Pretty important piece of storytelling that's crammed into a one sided phone call 😂
Not really. He DID leave that "Shadow The Hedgehog" behind him, joining G.U.N. to help save the world as he promised, fully abandoning any and all grudges.
@@charmyzard well actually he kinda leaves the "promise to Maria" thing behind as well, he's not protecting the world because of some promise he made to a girl who's been dead for 50 years, he's acting on his own accord now.
I think Path 084 makes the most sense to lead up to this. Westopolis: Dark. Shadow went along with the supposed promise, under the belief Black Doom was withholding information from him. Digital Circuit: Hero. It's Rouge. I think she told Shadow what she knew, but her information is contradictory at best. Prison Island: Hero, the Secret Disks could be tied to his past.(how aren't the disks irreparably scratched?) Mad Matrix: Dark, we've seen what Shadow's idea of hacking is. Iron Jungle: Hero. It's Omega. Cosmic Fall: Hero. Shadow has some knowledge of the Ark, so maybe the computer room could be helpful. Shadow despairs over his interpretation of who he is, but is reassured by Vector that he might be missing something. Believing Black Doom defeated, falsely I might add, Shadow goes to the Black Comet to think alone, paving the way for the Last Story.
love how black dooms larvae are straight up going to eat everyone while theyre paralyzed and shadow DID NOTHING after he broke free like he just left everyone behind to get ate
like it or not this is the perfect final to the dreamcast era of sonic, the whole story arc of chaos and shadow have a satisfactory ending, shadow knows all the truth and have closure to the past, he moves on and never ever comes back to be a sad edgy character again that questions who he is (he is now a jerk but thats another story) that "goodbye forever shadow the hedgehog" always got me
@@jeanfrancoluna3028 wrong, and not only because i say so, sega and developers made this game with the pure intention of being a soft reboot of the franchise to bring new players to new generation sonic to distance itself from the era when sega made consoles, is on the title, just sonic the hedgehog, no subtitle, nothing, same name of the original game and like i said after shadow the hedgehog game shadow never bring back his past or maria or anything about dreamcast games, he already lef that behind and in soinc 06 you have the prefect proof, shadow was not the edgy angry boy, he was serious and actually was the only one who knew what was going on with the plot, focused on dealing with the problem, he even says to the main villian "i dont care if everyone hates me i will keep fighting and bla bla" and you can see he is a friend of rouge and omega thats not something edgy shadow would do
I never got to this ending. I wish I did. It answers SO many questions I had after SA2 and Sonic Heroes, as well. Another bit of closure from one of my favorite childhood/tweenage memories
And if one lets the fight go long enough, Eggman finally tells the real truth he’s been hiding the whole time - the truth of Shadow NOT being an android. If you like, I can leave a link to a video someone uploaded showing it.
As flawed as this game is, Shadow The Hedgehog is one of my guilty pleasures along with Sonic 06. Sure I agree that playing the game 10 times to get all 10 endings does kinda suck. But looking past that all in all Shadow The Hedgehog is an enjoyable experience at least for me that is. Honestly if I would have to choose I would play this game over Sonic 06.

I like how the space colony ark having a functioning canon in this means that the Dark ending from SA2 is the cannon one. It also means Sonic and the gang canonically failed to defeat Eggman on at least one occasion. SA2 eggman really was the best eggman, he actually beat sonic. Even if the final story made that irrelevant.

But Doom said that they are a "great energy source" for them And after they invaded earth, its pretty clear that they are "saving" them, to then be enslaving them So really, there is no winner on either side
17:08 That line from Black Doom and my favorite Super Transformation scene in the series almost made playing through this game worth it. Almost. Kinda. Sorta.
Shadow's game deserves a remastered version and a sequel to it including Sonic 06 Sonic Unleashed and Sonic and The Black Knight and Sonic and The Secret Rings the other Sonic Villains who were defeated should come back because even if they're gone they won't stay gone for long they always come back. This happens all the time with villains.
he was good, he created shadow to help humanity, but when the military killed maria he went insane and changed shadow memories making him believe maria wanted revenge and kill everyone, completely excusable
That video you saw of both the Professor & Maria was obviously an old video that was recorded from 50 years ago when was Shadow was first born & created on the Space Colony Ark & when Maria was still alive. Professor Gerald Robotnik wanted to create Shadow for the good of Mankind to protect Humanity & for a cure to help Maria’s disease she had in her body but since after losing Maria by GUN, that’s when he stopped being a good guy & became a Villain because of GUN. So basically that video was made when Gerald was a good guy before SA2 even happened & existed to how he became a Villain for a huge big misunderstanding GUN had no idea what he was really using Shadow for after Gerald created him by using a DNA sample of Black Doom which makes him Shadow Biological Father
Seriously though - What exactly did Eggman do in this game to deserve getting a run for his rings from Knuckles? All he did was preventing intruders from trespassing his borders as a neutral party.

Black Bomber (from Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden) Shadow the Hedgehog (from Sonic the Hedgehog Series) Both have the same colors and the common personality.
Fun fact : In the Japanese version, Shadow says "Adios, Shadow The Hedgehog" at the end, a good call back to Sonic's final quote in the Japanese dub of SA2's final ending. Too bad they didn't make Jason Griffith say "Sayonara, Shadow The Hedgehog", like in SA2's English ending, but eh I suppose the standards might've kinda changed between the release of SA2 and SHATH and they decided it wouldn't have been serious enough or something.
well, he did lost hope for humanity for killing her grandaughter, and yet, in midst of all his rage, shadow was really his way to amend his sins, the ark was used for evil, but, in the end the true purpose was to destroy the comet

That was actually a translation error. In the og Japanese version he actually says let's pay respect for Shadow because he still saved us despite how horribly we've been to him.
Well, Gerald originally intended to use Shadow and the Eclipse Cannon to destroy the Black Arms. But when Maria was killed, his sanity snapped and his focus changed to getting revenge on humanity for killing her.
This game maybe has flaws but it also has good things like the replay value and being the first game in having the voice cast from the anime series sonic x
@@CrabHead501 yes, but to me that can be compensated with variety or a gimmick in the level, and this level it's just an uninspired level that's just running without anything engaging or structures that incentivise replay value with risk-reward scenarios. This level being this boring has no excuse
I recommend using the original japanese stories of the sonic games and not english ones i understand you maybe dont know japanese and that is why you dont use them but windii has translated lot of the japanese cutscenes. (unfortunately most of her videos were deleted but there are some repost i have made a playlist of most of the reposts on my channel.) but other than that good video. There are also a few retranslated mods you can use. And the voice acting is just way better.
How to ruin a moment: -make sure you cannot hear the song because of constant nonsense talking without stopping -have tutorials about press/holding B button during final moment of the game -obnoxious loud sound effects
