I mean its still not really "after life" like. Its honestly more like a whole new planet just like Outland/Draenor. The story doesnr help with how much warring and faction-like themes still happening in this "afterlife"
Kinda disappointed that it's just art though. Before BFA the login screens blended it with 3D elements and animation to give it some level of depth and immersion.
Imagine if the login screen started with the skies intact, and then shatter when the music drops at 00:36... Capturing the moment Sylvanas shattered the helm. I know most players would log in by then, but damn that could be epic.
WoD still contains many of my favourite locations visually in the game.. Gods is such a shame the people in charge don't share the same passion anymore.

Every time the WoW theme kicks in, I feel pride and joy for being part of this wonderful universe for the past 15 years. Every expansion brings that feeling back again. Never experienced this with any other game.
0:18 Thanagor as heard in invincible, the word for "king" used when referring to Arthas. I have a feeling Uther dunking Arthas into the maw isn't the last we're going to see of him.
As much as I'd hate to admit it we will but if he was dropped into the maw he won't have a redemption arc. He will be a full on villian, he will just be Arthas not the lich king
@@NektheDarkener But he was dropped to the maw by Uther. He wasn't judged by the Arbiter, for all we know he has no business being in there at all. So yeah, he can have a redemption arc.
@@NektheDarkener I mean we will be going to the maw at some point. It could be a whole questline involving Uther and Arthas' path to redemption. He wasn't judged by the arbiter so he'd eed to be judged and in turn make amends for his sins, much like we'll see Kael'thas do.
Blizzard has done it again. The music is absolutely AMAZING. This is why I play World of Warcraft to listen to this and be swept away to another world through sound and music!!!
Manthe when the WARCRAFT theme came in it gave me goosebumps and I literally shouted a war cry. The music moved me and I know allot of people feel the same way!!
There is no part of it that stands out, BFA didnt have my favourite login music but it at least had a good early crescendo that peaked your excitement and so did most login screens, this one just feels like a generic fantasy movie score
I get what you are saying. But from a musical scoring perspective and having worked in the music industry myself I personally find this music score to be EPIC. Everyone has their own opinion and thats fine.
The Shadowlands reedition to Legends of Azeroth is probably the best one they've made yet. It absolutely screams the calling to go to war against Death itself. One of the best login screens hands down. Legion still holds the title of best followed by WOTLK and Cata

100% agree. I like how it takes its sweet time to then drop the main theme instead of slowly fading into it or just starting with it outright. PS: The login theme is Legends of Azeroth, not Call to Arms.
I love that the introduction has this sound of something being "off"; a bit like both Cataclysm and Legion. Just like with those expansions, something fundamentally world-breaking is happening, and I think the weird melodies in the beginning reflects that!
10:16-11:24 has to be the most breathtaking part of the whole song. Its stunning. Absolutely beautiful and hauntingly unearthly. Gives me chills whenever I hear it.
This is so beautiful! The login screen looks amazing and the music score with it absolutely gorgeous the composition and the instruments involved beautifully composed. Well done Blizzard I cannot wait to log in to this every single day once Shadowlands is released!
I wasn't overly fond of the MUSIC from Cata - Legion. Not counting Shadowlands (because we've yet to hear the entire soundtrack), Battle For Azeroth (combined with Warbringers and the 3 'mini albums') is my favourite WoW music since Wrath.
I've listened many soundtracks in my life, both from video games and from movies. And still those made by Blizzard are just a legend, like CD Projekt ones oraz from BioWare productions.
I have to admit I'm impressed. The main progression seems much more impactful than legion or BFA. Full disclosure, my absolute favorite is WOD, and while I still prefer that, this music really was both intriguing and captivating. I did not know how to feel about that guitar when it first kicked in, but I think I like it!
This is great!! If you guys pay attention to the music style after the 3min intro it takes queues from the Covenants, 3:00 to 4min is Kyrian, 4:00 to 5:30min is Necrolords (notice the electric guitar sound), 5:30 to 7:00min +/- is Ardenweald, afterwards is Venthyr/Ravendreth until 9:15 and finally is the final transition to Torghast and the Maw!! At least in my interpretation ;)
I love it when they bring in those musical elements from past themes as though every xpac has built from the last. Truly amazing work from the music & art teams!
My cousin who's been playing WOW since the classic days back in 2005 is still playing to this day even though he's 33 years old now. That's the power of this game man.
9:12-9:55 might be my most favourite piece of music ever released in the whole gaming industry. I absolutely love the way the cloister bells were used in this with the strings. Brings an air of mystery and even hopefulness to the whole concept of an afterlife.
In these times I did NOT expect this to sound good, but this is definitely a nice surprise. One of the best login screens soundtracks they've ever made, period.
Honestly it's probably the best one. Actually sounds well-composed, whereas the oldest ones, save Wrath, repeated (Cataclysm anyone?). Something about Legion sounded stiff, and BFA jumped into the troll theme too early.
Even though we're really going to listen about only the first 20seconds - 2minutes depending on how bad our computer is, this is still some pretty badass music.
I dont get time to play i miss WoW but when hearing this it makes like a hero like a WoW hero reminds me of one of my strongest character Aristiaa lvl 70 now became 27 they reduced idk why
Blizzard always has the best soundtracks and cinematics. They have lead the industry in these regards from the early warcraft days. Consistent and never less than top tier
@@frodenoboris4509 The Shadowlands are where souls go when they die therefore when we are in spirit form we are technically in the Shadowlands. But due to Sylvanas being op she basically created a portal between the two dimensions
Yea the spirit healer theme The spirit healers are the ones who send the souls to shadowlands And no we dont have to die. Bolvar will help you get there
Missed this expansion entirely, but this music is pure WoW, absolutely nailed it. Art is amazing too. The music and visuals of WoW have for a long time been part of what makes it great; even the people who don't notice it feel the magic of it.
If there is one thing Blizzard always does right it's making awesome visuals and music. Their art and music team whoever they are always do such an amazing job. It's because of them that something as simple as a login screen reveal becomes an exciting thing.
This expansion maybe not the most popular but in this expansion I finished my university and with that my life was marked, the end of an era with the end of my childhood 😅🥲
Cata has still the best login theme. It has an epic vanilla WoW intro and ending and in the middle we can listen to Invincible, the Ulduar theme, the goblin theme... It was EPIC!
Brings a tear to my eye, so beautiful. Made me remember the first time I logged in on Stormrage as horde and rage quitting. All of you guys and gals who stick it out and played through all the expansion packs, this song and the feeling it resonates is for you.
I remember one year into the expansion I thought to myself "shadowlands sucks ass, i will never ever have any nostlagic moments for it". And here I am now, WoW is a magical game
doesn't matter which expansion is your favourite or which you despise one thing that always made wow different than any other mmo's is the music, it just feels right.

Sargeras and the Legion were a far larger threat than N'Zoth tbh. Though, N'Zoth was dangerous, as he had full control over the Black Empire's capital. However, one almost won 3 times in a single raid. The other was barely close once. Meanwhile, we have the Jailer, who's a far greater threat than BOTH the Legion and the Old Gods.
Shadowlands has a unique music transition from the starting point to in between to oribos to in between again to the destination. You feel entering a new world. Like me I am in Venthyr and would go to Ardenweald, I still get the chills while flying even thought I do not like the area so much.
