Shaft Alignment is very important . About seventy percent of faults in plant are due to shaft misalignment. About twenty percent of problems are due to unbalance of rotating equipment. Billions of dollars are lost world wide due to lack of knowledge and incorrect practice . Unfortunately there are few people who possess theoretical and practical experience at the same time . This is very unfortunate. In Pakistan management should work hard to improve this sector of maintainance. Most of the engineers due to lack of knowledge and training which is because of lack of management support .Proper tools and accessories should be provided .
