Possibly the greatest storywise final battle I've ever seen. 4U really had a soul.

I know that a lot of people that have been with the series for longer think this guy is easy as hell and underwhelming, but as someone who's only been playing since MH3 I friggin love this thing. The fight is actually fair considering it's a one on one with a buffed Gore, and the atmosphere is fantastic, mostly thanks to this track. Loved fighting this guy.

Anyone else notice how similar the Magalas are to moths/butterflies? Gore Magala, with his wings all folded back, dusty spores coming off his wings, and feelers, looks just like a moth from an aerial viewpoint. This guy definitely looks like a butterfly.

This will always be one of my favorite Elder Dragons, because it is my FIRST elder dragon

I remember defeating this guy, and feeling so proud of myself. Then I had to take a phonecall, and learned that you'll lose all the post-battle drops from a monster if you don't send them to your item box within the time limit. Meaning I lost ALL the loot. Yeah, that was frustrating.

Level 140 Shagaru is a goddamn nightmare

Capcom really outdid themselves with this song! The only Monster Hunter song that I like nearly as much is the Dire Miralis theme.

This version still slaps harder than the Sunbreak version.

It was fun to fight this thing. Favorite final boss ever! ^_^ Especially since I used parts from his younger/child self as an armor and weapon set. Fear the Fledderklauen!

This theme really got me into the spirit of the battle. I felt my palms sweating as i dealt one blow after another, evading what attacks i could. Me and my palicoes just barely beat the thing on the 21st try.(7th attempt on the quest, 3rd life)

Still one of my favorite moments in the series. I actually quite like 4/4u story and thought shagaru was a pretty nice moment story wise. The closest the series had ever gotten to having a legit superhero supervillain dynamic. Shagaru had so much personality to it.

Still to this day this is one of the few First Play initial Monster Fight Theme's that made me feel on the edge of my seat. I went into him solo first time, in the storyline, and I paid attention to the actual story. So I FELT that the world was counting on me when fighting Shagaru for the first time, mixed with this theme music, I felt shivers down my spine. Although 4 might not have been my favorite game in the series. I will NEVER forget my first experience with Shagaru Magala. Just listening to this theme again makes me wish I could get that feeling again. I got it a tiny bit from Iceborne, and a little bit from Rise... but this theme is SO GOOD that I don't think that same feeling can be replicated again. The atmosphere of this theme just screams: "You're the Hero, you have to slay this beast otherwise millions will suffer. The fate of the entire world rest on your shoulders alone Hunter." - I feel bad for those who fought this monster with friends first, instead of in story solo. It would take so much out of the initial experience.

Am I the only one that absolutely loves fighting Shagaru and Gore? I've camped the lower ranked ones to carry people through them just for shits n giggles.

Has anyone else played God Eater? Did anyone else constantly get Hannibal vibes from this fight? The theme and his constant jumping around just gave me that feeling.

Whenever I hear this Theme it always gets stuck in my head.

This theme couldn't be more awesome.

I loved this fight when I first fought him. I had a pretty easy time, but the fight was still intense. I was constantly dodging around the arena, trying to avoid his blasts. The music really added to the intensity. Now that I'm at G-Rank...he's not so easy for me, h-heh.

I wish they would make a version of this that's not really like a battle theme but more like an intro to the monster itself, so it's more slow and Epic

This battle makes you feel like this is it. the final battle, it is now or never, time to save the fucking world!

If they can make magala battle until the third phase at once and this theme kick in at last battle it would be dope

A much better ending to the first batch of village quests than Ceadeus (though Ceadeus still has some kickass atmosphere)

The caravan cutscene with this fucker is perfect. No fear, no goofy stumbles, no jokes. Fate of nature rests. And you get ready for a duel like it's a fucking western.

damm, with this guy I learned how to use my favourite weapon in the game, the Long Sword, yet though it's really easy in Generations, just go Aerial Dual Blades with Glavenus DB and... just keep jumping over it for Five Minutes and... it's dead... really easy

After grinding this bastatd for a mantle.... I have learned to love this theme. I thought it was just some generic sounding "epic battle" theme. But it's actually quite good. XD One of my favoriye themes in the series bow.

It's in the mid fight. You are using a CB. The theme is at its climax. Explosions raging around. And you managed to SAED on this mofo head with sickass atmosphere and chaotic environment.

Has anyone else noticed that S.mag's head flipped over looks kinda like a fatalis? Wonder what that's all about?

For all you people who grinded Gore to get Dragon-elemental weapons...you could have used a Fire weapon (Rathalos, etc.) and done just about as well.

The fight was a little disapointing (Took 7 minutes-first try, no Guild Quest done, so only had LR Gear) but the music set the tone. Can't wait for the G Rank version though.

I was a bit disappointed fighting the Shagaru Magala as I was. I'd been doing a lot of online work, and had some pretty solid gear. Ended up with a sub-5 minute kill on my first attempt. Bit anticlimactic, since i've been looking forward to this fight for a long time. Oh well, there's always G Rank.

I like this theme...but Brachydios is my favorite. I guess I'm bias since Brachydios is my favorite monster lol. Though I do like the look of Gore Magala/Shagaru Magara.

While im not fan of the old games combat i will admit Magala is one of the best main threats . I just dont like world and rise would focus on giant monsters, its like dark souls its the smaller boss who are actually scary

After Gore was revealed for sunbreak it was just a matter of time until it was Shagarus turn, honestly didnt expect it to be so soon

i genuinely think that this is the perfect monster in the entire series its got a awesome design its theme is incredible its got the right amount of challenge and it just looks badass and the build up to the final fight where you take it down is so damn perfect this monster literally should be a flagship monster in every game i really felt like a monster hunter when fighting this dragon

Seeing Shagaru in Sunbreak makes me happy again and I would be real happy if MH4U Lv.140 Quest returns in Sunbreak. XD

Shagaru is an elder dragon, it came from a gore that is not an elder dragon. Sure makes you wonder whether all elder dragons actually have a juvinile form and that we just haven't seen them yet.

Damn, even in 2019, this is still the best battle theme in all of the games

this is really great theme, imagine you are standing face to face with the shagaru magala, staring at each others like common rivals, you've slain through every frenzied monsters you've seen, and you've finally faced the elder dragon that caused all of it. it may be a grave situation, but as always, you're the one to get it done, fellow hunters.

Killed him on my first try using Dual Blades carved from well.... its previous body. (I play DB, GS and LS, and I think the DB are the best thing to kill any of the three magalas). I was having a hard time trying to break its horns to fulfill the submission but, oh! lucky me!, my palico broke its horn!
